Gamera, the other mutant turtle

Has anyone seen or heard of the Gamera trilogy? They are three very awesome films that really raise the bar for giant monster movies.

People who say that all Japanese monster film are about is cardboard buildings and rubber suits should realy watch the ariel battle between Gamera and Iris in Gamera 3!

Gamera is cool but has nothing on Godzilla (I have seen a few Gamera movies)

I'd also like to add that the entire Gamera trilogy will be realesed on DVD this spring by ADV films, the disks will have the option to watch the films dubbed or subbed

Megatokyo currently has a running sight gag where Gamera's distant cousin is rampaging through the streets of Tokyo. Im a big fan of MEgatokyp, which it was inked and or in color, but its amusing.

By the way Gamera 3 is a must see, you haven't seen anything untill you see one of Gameras fireballs missing Gyoas (his enemy) and smashing into the streets ripping people apart in mid air, an amazing CGI shot.

Also the new DVD's will have tons of extras, Making of, trailers, TV spots. Something missing from the crappy releases of Godzilla films here in the states we've seen lately.
