TMNT predictability
Just a strange question I thought of, has anyone here been good at anticipating specific things that were gonna happen in the TMNT episodes the very first time they watched them, whether they were from the OT, NT, or in the movies.
Here's some things I predicted the first time I watched these eps: *OT:"Donatello Makes Time"-I told myself about midway throught the episode, "Yeah, the turtles are gonna destroy that time-stopper at the end after the trouble it caused them." I was right. *OT:"Leatherhead Meets the Rat King"-I kept my eye on the camera lens cap while Vernon was taping the showdown with Leatherhead and the Rat King, and I was sure it wasn't an animation error, and I was wondering when someone was gonna point it out to Vernon. *NT:"RTNY 3"-Shredder's decapitation, now I hadn't watched any previous episodes yet and I this was the first ep I watched a good portion of, I immediately told myself, "Nah, no way, it ain't that easy; there's no blood, guts, or nothin'; and the writers wouldn't allow a single turtle to do the job on his own, Shredder ain't dead." I didn't know anything about the Sword of Tengu yet or what it was capable of, or know Shredder's true id, but I was right again, Shredder gets up, picks up his head, and walks away. Anybody remember any times they predicted something before it happened in an episode from any TMNT universe.

Well, i predicted some things in the ot too, but a littlebit different:
A friend of me and me used to draw our own turtle-comics based on the old toons back in the early 90's. I decided it would be cool to have the technodrome in some other places, so i drawed it in the arctic ice, deep in the ocean and in the sahara. When i then saw that the cartoon used two of my three locations i was seriously thinking they stole my idea somehow for some days (i was young, you know^^). Ahwell, good times. I still take a look on those comics from time to time. =]

At first the technodrome came from dimension x but the turtles made it pop into the arctic ice by distracting some laser advice
(you can allready see here that i was not much less original then the cartoon plot writers^^). Then it drove down the ocean to come to ny, but the turtles stop it, leaving it on the ground of the ocean. Having few powers they decide that africa is much closer to hit land again then the american continent so they end up stranded in the desert (which leads to some tropical/pyramid action stuff). Somewhere after that i stopped my comics though and they were pretty poorly drawn. :p

No. I totally thought he was some sort of Demon from the Beginning. But once the Utroms were introduced into the New toon I was like yeah, he's one of those dudes. I also thought that Mikey was gonna win the Battle Nexus Tounament, but I guess that wasn't really predictable.

Oh yeah, that's a big one! After Leo was disqualified (or knocked unconscious, I guess) who did you think would win?

In "City at War" of the NT, I was able to predict that Raph would return after realizing that escaping was not the right thing and that he would bring Splinter with him.
And Shredder/Oroku Saki being really an Utrom is not that irreconciliable with other origin stories. I still prefer the original Nagi and Tang Shen version, though.

I thought the Utrom thing was pretty predictable especially after RtNY and introducing the Utroms. Why else would Saki wear that silly wrap around his abdomen? Why else would Saki have enemies with exosuits unless he himself were an Utrom?

^ I must have just not been thinking because I never figured saki was an utrom. Now watching the eps leading up, it's so obvious.

Also the sword of tengu has a wee utrom on the handle, I was watching Darkness at the end of town last night with my wee bro and pointed that out to him.

In "Reflections", I am pretty sure most of you could tell which Turtle was not knocked down upon being told that blindfolded training was over. Never mind that particular Turtle is quite trusting and that it is another Turtle who has the trouble with trusting others and thus would be likeliest to be skeptical. Never mind it is another Turtle who is most analytical and cerebral and would be likelier to notice something is not right. Never mind it some other Turtle boy is most distracted and the jokester and would perhaps pick it up more easily. Nooo, it had to be Turtle who is the best at ninja stuff all the time.

^ Ha yeah. 2k3 makes sure to point out how advanced Leonardo is in his training.
Side note, I'm not a fan of reflections or any other episode that shows clips from previous episodes.

In training yes, but in actual battles, every turtle gets their fair share of glories as well as falls, and they all get a fair share of opportunities to display their huge talents as martial artists.

I would agree with you there to an extent. However, I just have to ask other dromers if anyone has noticed that Don seems a bit weaker than the other 3 turtles in fight sequences. I really don't want to provoke Don fans because heaven knows I love them all to death but I noticed in 2k3 that Don gets his shell kicked in more than the other turtles and seems to get "saved" by his bros more than the other 3.

Donatello's my second favorite Turtle for a reason. I love his episodes because they are so science-based. He's the brains of the team- but his battle skills and brawns are not as tremendously developed as those of his other 3 brothers. His strengths lie somewhere else- doing the machines. But although he's neither weak nor inept, he's definitely the least athletic of the bunch.
It does not bother me. In fact, this is one of the reasons why I like him.

Understandable, maybe the least athletic "of the 4", still he's been in martial arts training for 15 years, he's very well-built, and his athletics are nowhere near lacking; in fact, in consideration of his grace in using his bo to high-jump and in backflipping, he's the most acrobatic of the turtles, and if not, then the best after Michaelangelo. His martial art skills were enough to get himself chosen by the Tribunal and be one of the dragons, so he's probably one of the greatest on Earth (alongside his bros of course), if that expression doesn't sound to cliche/exaggerative.

Well, that's true... but c'mon... realistcally speaking... as if they'd only pick one or two of the Turtles to join the Ninja Tribunal and have that dragon- morphin ability. Or worse yet, the other 3 turtles, and NOT Donatello. It had to be all four.

That's why I said he "alongside his bros". I think ALL 4 of them are among the best martial artists on the planet. I mean there have to be thousands of martial artists on the planet, only 8 get chosen out of this generation to serve the Tribunal, and only 4 of them accomplished the dragons like the Tribunal did.
