Mike Wieringo is dead

Quote:

Yesterday was a sad day for the comic book world as one of its greats suddenly passed away. On Sunday, Mike Wieringo passed away. He was forty-four years old and a vegetarian. His friend and colleague Todd Dezaog said that Wieringo was "one of the healthiest ones of us in the bunch." Wieringo had no apparent history of disease or heart problems and kept on working every day, but, ultimately, it was a sudden heart attack that cost him his life.

And here's the source. A sad day indeed.

The old Bill Hicks "smoker vs non-smoker" argument rears it's head again

This is really horrible news, he was an outstanding artist, but I can't help laughing at the typo in the quote: "suddenly assed away". Heh heh heh.

He will be missed.

Jesus. Going at 44, that's just not fair.

He wrote a very helpful aticle about drawing panel compostion and pacing in the Wizard: How To Draw book I got a couple of months ago. He was a great artist too, what a shame.

This is terrible news, he was an extremly talented artist.

Wait... What? Ah, man... Horrible.

He was a great artist. I liked his smooth, almost cartoon-esque style. RIP, 'Ringo.
