Question to Fans, About New Line and Warner Bros.

I'm not sure if there is a topic already about this...if so I apologize and feel free to direct/redirect towards that post/topic. But I was wondering what people's thoughts on this...

"From imdb.com:

Following a planned meeting this week with new Time Warner Chairman Jeff Bewkes, New Line Cinema founders Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne are expected to be terminated and New Line's projects, including The Hobbit, folded into Warner Bros., L.A. Weekly columnist Nikki Finke reported on her Deadline Hollywood Daily blog Monday, citing no sources. With the exception of last year's Hairspray, New Line has had a nearly uninterrupted string of financial failures since its Lord of the Rings franchise ran out. "

Mainly my question is...it sounds like Warner Bros. is going to be taking New Line Cinema and their library/products/etc...is this correct? If so, I just find it interesting that New Line had released the old Ninja Turtle films and Warner Bros. (with Weinstein) released the new CGI flick.

So my question is...will that mean Warner Bros. will be the ones to finally make a damn special edition of the old TMNT films (at least the first one)? Maybe if they do a sequel to the CGI flick....just wanted to get people's opinions on this. Again I just thought it was a weird coincidence that the studio that released the old turtle movies are now bought by the studio that released the new one.

the way i understood it, WB just did the publicity? I could be wrong, this sort of thing I'm not good at. Personally WB can go away, they sucked publicizing TMNT...

The turtles 3 pack was selling like mad at my work when the movie was out. It was going for like 20 bucks I think. No new copies of the movies though just the old ones. If they were going to re-release they'd have done it by now I'd think.

My guess would be that when New Line will hopefully eventually remaster and re-release the live action turtle films on hi-def blu-ray that chances would be good that new special edition standard dvds would come out at the same time. New Line is doing that with Golden Compass in April, and Warner has been doing the same with catalog titles, such as Bonnie and Clyde, Twister, and with Blade Runner (which was awesome) and the Kubrick Films last fall. Worst case, if New Line does fold, Warner would probably take over their dvd library. I think Warner is distributing the New Line dvd product now anyway but I may be wrong.

I keep hoping for a special edition re release but they did release a making of VHS for the first TMNT live action movie. It would be nice if they put that on HD or blue ray disc or something.
Even just to get something new put both TMNT I and II and the making on a 2 disc set...just a thought

I wonder what this means for New Line properties like the horror characters.
