For my money, I say to go with Itoya Art Portfolios. They are sold on various websites but I honestly don't remember where I got mines from. They come in different sizes so depending on the artwork you have will determine the size. I go with 13 X 19. Thats generally a tad bit bigger than most pieces, but I like to be able to fit all of my art in one place. Everything fits except for my #11 Cover as it is pretty huge. They are some of the best portfolios on the market and a general staple in the comic art collecting world. And they are not too pricey if I recall.

EDIT: I saw you mentioned Mylar sleeves. Those can work as well but they don't generally sell those individually, or at least as far as I've seen. I honestly haven't looked lately for those as I just use the portfolios. Besides, as you get more art I find it covient to have a solid place to put them becuase even with the mylar you have to store it somewhere. Some people put their art in Mylars AND then into portfolios. I think thats a bit overkill IMO.

I wouldn't say the outside is flimsy, but yea its definately not designed to stand upright on its own. It offers great protection if you can keep it flat on a table, floor, or something like that.
