"Willard" ...a possible take off the Rat King?

Okay, so I'm going through Yahoo Groups when this Flash movie add
comes up saying "Whack a Rat" with a bobbling rat sitting on the
stairstep.

Thus I'm thinking, "WTF?" at this point, then click on it to see
what's it about. Apparently it's a movie were some recluse guy has
made a bond with the rats that live in his basement. Hrmm.. why
does this seem to scream "Rat King" at me? *lol*

http://www.willardmovie.com/index_flash.html

*then simply cracks up after clicking on the "sent a rat pack" link*

LOL Now that you mention it, I can totally see it!!!

I just wish they wouldn;t play Smashing Pumpkins behind the commercial... Totally cheapens SP's work... (<------ worships the pumpkins)

Actually I had looked this up before!! It turns out this movie is a remake of an older movie from 1971 about gennerally the same thing, the Rat King is more a take off of Willard than Willard is of the Rat King.

I saw a preview for this movie today; it looks like it might be ok. But really, how scary can a bunch of rats be?

No, but Michael J. Fox was the one who did the time traveling, not Crispin Glover.

Well, a lot of people have an irrational fear of them, or have been raised to feel that they're horrible nasty little creatures. Personally I feel they're among the best pets in the world. I'll be seeing the "Willard" re-make, though I'll probably be cooing "They're so KYOOOT!" for most of it. I hope it doesn't show any graphic rat death though. I don't think I can handle that.

I did see the old sequel, "Ben" many years ago. It was a riot. This little boy befriends Ben, the leader of the rats. He sings to him and puts on puppet shows for him. If memory serves, the song was actually sung by a young Michael Jackson!
