what would you do?

With all the debate happenening regarding the new IDW series and the colored bandanas, I have a proposition for you. Pretend for a moment that you are the creator of the turtles and drew the first volume black and white with no color. Now, for the next volume, you want to put them in color. How would you make them look?

All bandanas would be light brown made of leather with all their pads. Skin colors would vary between turtles with browns and yellow (little lighter than original donatello toys)

Isn't this basically asking "all red" vs "multicolor bandannas" all over again?

I'd flip a coin.

I'd go with black, as my Turtles are badass ninjas who stalk their prey and strike as a unit.

This is not a great thread. At all. Everyone is just going to justify their rainbow brigade or blood masks.

I felt the pihb was asking what everyone would choose their own colors to be, if they even had masks.

I would have them wear real Ninja outfits, how dare TMNT use rainbow ninjas.

And ninjas wearing black is very much a media created image...

It makes the most tactical sense, though; when you want to stay concealed in shadows would you normally think to choose?

I'm not asking about bandana colors. I'm throwing it out there that if you were to put the turtles in color, how would you make skin tones and bandanas/padding. I was curious as to handle coloring the turtles if it were up to them.

dark blue or a dark brown actually, any light source and black can be easier picked up

I'd keep the blue, red, orange, and purple bandanas, but I'd just re-assign them to different turtles at random. And, on occasion, I'd have them switch bandanas again for no apparent reason.

Just so the fan-base would hate me and claimed I "ruined their childhood."

As much of a fan as i am for colored, and really respect the reds to the origins, I wouldn't give them colors. Just scrap brow leather. These guys are number in a sewer, not owners of a Hobby Lobby

Leather masks would be problematic and nonsensical. Thick, uncomfortable, not all too pliable, sweat provoking...
