Soul's Winter
I just got done rereading this. It is by far one of my favorite stories in the Mirage books, second to the River. Everything about it is amazing, from the story to the art work. I was wondering what some others views of this set of three books is. I'll wait to weigh in on everything I want to say.

I have to agree. I love that story arc and its fantastical, spiritual take on the TMNT universe. Zulli has done some other cool things. Have you ever checked out Puma Blues, his collaboration with Murph. That is very cool as well.

It's certainly a better alternate universe take on the Turtles than the TomMcweeny or Mark Martin stuff that's for sure.

I thought it was awesome to see such an interesting take on the turtle mythology. Stuff like Soul's Winter is a big reason I love this franchise. From the 80's cartoon to Soul's Winter, these boys work in almost any interpretation.

I need to dig my copies out and give it another look; it's been ages.

To me it is such a deep story told in just three issues. It's not the same Turtles we have seen before and I'd almost say that Saki is more likable then Splinter in these tales.

I thought it was just okay. The art was really fantastic, I'll give it that.
The story...I can't even remember what it was about. I don't mind stuff that's really "out there" and unconventional, but this one just didn't work for me. |

Soul's Winter holds a very special place in my heart because it, along with #28, were my very first Mirage books as a kid. Needless to say, my mind was blown by these Turtles!!
It wasn't until a few years ago that I acquired the other 2 peices of the story, then a couple years after that came the TPB with *all* of Zulli's tales. I sure hope IDW's collection, should they ever do one, not have such muddled lines like Mirage's trade.
