Anime, Turtles Forever Continuity

So, ignoring Crys Mu, japanese language, the Shredders armour and the idiot Turtles Forever turtles, plus the Technodrome, for someone whom hasn't seen it from start to finish, using clues from the episodes and movie, where would they slot into the original series?

- OVA 1 of the anime has the Technodrome Float to the top of the water but it's not shown exactly where it was before.
- OVA 2 could be placed anywhere before Season 8
-Turtles Forever has the Technodrome running around on the streets of New York so maybe somewhere in "The Big" trilogy?

Ignoring the continuity hiccups, of course

Turtles Forever probably took place during Season 3, which was the most popular era-ratings wise of the OT.

The OT and the anime are from different universes. Think of the anime as a "what if" story. The archie comics also used the OT turtles and villains, but they are not our OT characters from the show.

Having seen the OVA and read one of the manga adaptations, I think you could throw the Japanese material in pretty much anywhere. The Super Turtles stuff introduces new characters, but they are also gone by the end of it, especially in the manga. The episode where they go to Japan can just be a vacation.

Probably the biggest hurdles of fitting it into the OT is the city being flooded.

lol That's why the went to Japan! I'm looking at clues, the main one's being where the Technodrome is. It's riding around on the streets in Turtles Forever, and possibly underwater in the first OVA1? I'll have to rewatch them again.

Not that they tried really hard to rip the OT turtles right out of any particular episode, but if anything that "branch off event" was during "Shredder Triumphant" from season 7.

However, I like to believe that Turtles Forever is post-season 10. I used to have a whole check list of reasons why, but mainly it just feels right for it to be a double finale. Also, if you pay attention, the Chanel 6 building isn't on the corner of that fork in the road, meaning it was rebuilt after Shredder blew it up.

That ... Wouldn't work. That would mean Krang and the Shredder rebuilt the Technodrome and Krang's android and somehow got the energy to go back to Earth, right? Channel 6 is okay, and April went back to her stupid jumpsuit

As well as getting rehired by Channel Six.

I've noticed people claiming before that Channel Six was at a new location, but I just never saw any such landmarks. Where were they hiding? O_o

Sorry to bump this old thread but I was going to make a similar one with the new so why not?

As far as the OVAs while I guess we could fit them somewhere in the OT I feel it just makes things more convoluted. However we know there was a Manga that followed the OT but umm japanese style and I think they even had the same power ups of the OVA in one of the mangas so it fits better as a different turtleverse just how the Archie universe started as a re-telling but became its own thing.

Now turtles Forever has to take place after the Lotus Blossom episode but before the Red-Sky seasons. Now the techondrome was attacking the city right? This doesn't mean it has to take place during the Big Blow Out or whatever, I mean we have to remember that the technodrome was often re-powered and even sent back to the exact same location as before so no reason why it couldn't have been powered up off-screen and attacked the city (hitting the OT turtles with a test version of the giggle ray) and after the event the turtles fight the drome and send it back to whatever location it was in. Of course Krang being as picky as he is he rebuilds the technodrome to his liking since he doesn't like the Chrell version of it

Why Lotus Blossom episode (don't remember right now)? And while we're talking about it, what about the 2012 series cameos? I was thinking about that today. I'm pretty sure those could happen anywhere after OT Casey Jones is introduced.

Oh okay. Well obviously lol I was thinking maybe Turtles Forever might actually happen during season 1, cause human Bebop and Rocksteady, but that proves it happens later. What about European vacation for anime OVA 2 where they travel to Japan. Is that possible during that side-season?

I'd say Turtles Forever happens after S03 The Big Rip Off, because The Big Break In seems to take place WAY after The Big Rip Off. I think that's a good placement. They repower the Technodrome, then nothing happens (let's say they got it up and running on the streets then Turtles Forever) then The Big Break In takes place obviously a lot later, so they remodeled the Technodrome back and went underground into hiding -> The Big Break In.

Bebop and Rocksteady weren't actually human, their human forms were animated in error.

I think Turtles Forever takes place after Divide And Conquer. I believe the Technodrome was rebuilt by Lord Dregg's microbots and that's why it worked well after being shown to be destroyed in Divide And Conquer.

I assume Turtles Forever takes place sometime in season 3 in an alternate continuity. However, I think the writers probably didn't pay too much attention as to when TF could have taken place in the OT.

I never saw it as such. I always assumed it was "canon".

I'm pretty sure it was more of an Easter egg then an error.

The tone is a little odd, & Shredder's got some new digs, but it does fit in just fine otherwise.

At the same time, it's fun to think of there being an alternate universe based on the Japanese turtle media. Whatever floats your boat.

I suppose Turtles Forever implies the Japanese stuff is separate just because they see it in the scene full of different universes yeah?
