What are some examples of Krang doing something very stupid?

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forum but I knew this would be the place to come to tap into the minds of some of the world's foremost TMNT experts.

I've been tapped to come up with a presentation on brainy supervillains acting stupid. I've got some great examples from comics (i.e. DC's Brainiac), but I'd be remiss if I didn't include Krang! I've been trying to think of ways in which Krang might have acted stupidly despite his clearly superior intelligence, but the problem is that his plans were almost always foiled by the ineptitude of Shredder, Bebop, and/or Rocksteady or any other villains du jour.

Can you guys give me examples in which Krang did something stupid when he should have known better?

For example, when Krang is trying to get a hold of lidium-90 in the April Fools episode, it explodes because of the intense pressure underground. Shouldn't a super genius like him have known it was so unstable? I'm trying to think of better, more comedic examples. Help me out, folks!

Krang getting into the radio business and trying to lure all the citizens in NYC into "Krang's chasm" by removing all the humans and leaving an empty city behind.

I think there was an episode where Krang lured all the criminals to the boat and set them a drift so he can rulle over all the crime in the city...
Also if you need Brainy Villains with dumb plans Bane from TDKR is the prime example...

Krang's entire plan in the episode "Attack of the 50' Irma" would certainly qualify. Making Shredder 50' tall was supposed to accomplish WHAT, exactly?! Aside from having him smash the city randomly and making it impossible for him to do anything a normal person would be able to do? Pretty dumb plan, IMHO.

Krang expecting any scheme to succeed when it involved Bebop and Rocksteady.

"The Missing Map" where Krang brought Zach into the Technodrome, and Zach ended up escaping and causing all sorts of trouble for him.

When Krang sent Bebop and Rocksteady to fix the malfunctioning mind controller. Those idiots ended up getting the wrong disk and lose it to the turtles, which contained the plans to the robot clones, which allowed the turtles to sabotage them and defeat Shredder.

Building a gigantic slow Technodrome, that used normal sources of power and would run out so easily. He and Lord Zedd must use the same power supplier. (Serpentera would constantly run out of juice.)

Dimension X has all this superior technology, but he runs out of power opening the portal to return to Earth. (Return of the Technodrome)

Saving Michelangelo in "A Thing About Rats" just to get back at Shredder. He probably regrets that everyday.

Well, he DID have an ulterior motive on that one- forcing Shredder to build him a new body!

Yeah. Shredder would probably never build him a body unless it benefitted himself in some way. In the 2nd episode in fact, he stated that he was weary if Krang would overpower him if he filled out his end of the bargain.

Funny thing is, HE was the one always plotting to backstab Krang and take over, not the other way around. Krang actually had a modicum of honor, at least....

I doubt if Krang ever expected for anyone to succeed in any mission be it Bebop & Rocksteady or Shredder. He even said a few smarta** remarks whenever Shredder too left for a mission and whenever he contacted Shredder to get a mission status. So it was simple karma for Krang to fail and for Shredder to say something snippish back at Krang.

As for a stupid thing that Krang did *besides creating multiple clones of himself* might have to be flooding the city in 20,000 Leaks Under The City; his Super Pump pretty much overloaded and started to flood The Technodrome instead.

Another dumb moment? Dimension X Story. Yeah Krang, lets use explosives inside a volcano *along with placing April, Irma, Vernon, and the Neutrinos as hostages bounded within the volcano* to blast The Technodrome free just so those same explosives can get moved around by the Turtles. So they get sealed in by the lava that hardened. And even if they ever got free, where would that Technodrome be able to go on a floating isle beside off of it?

Want more? Rhinoman. Having Bebop and Rocksteady become 'superheroes' just so he could get Shredder to steal a crystal from some fraud vigilante that turned out to completely fake.

Funniest Krang fail moment? Him b*tching at Shredder just so Shred can rip out a metal plate off of the wall and seal Krang inside the android body *and in the dark* I mean all Krang had to do was get both Bebop and Rocksteady to pry that plate off for him.*

Taking a shower in his android body. It was like going through a carwash with your car.

Not joining Shredder,Bebop, and Rocksteady each time to supervise and as a combatant that would give the turtles a time. Also, not developing a serum to successfully and permanent give Bebop and Rocksteady an intelligence boost.

Welcome aboard the 'drome,Darkfell.

Choosing as his mode of transport (or accepting Shredder's choice, whichever was the case) a not-remotely-convincingly-human robot with creepy dead eyes, exposed metal bits and a tendency to run around in its underwear.

Oooh..I forgot about that random moment and I actually saved that as wallpaper for both my computer and my phone because I thought it was just that damn funny.

I recalled there being an episode where both Bebop & Rocksteady were actually smart..what episode was that?

Welcome aboard the 'drome,Darkfell.
Why thank you kindly.

But I like that not remotely convincingly human robot fat guy with the creepy weird eyes that had a constant tendency to run around in it's underwear.

However, I think that was Krang's preference (or Fred Wolf's) instead of a dumb moment.
