If Jonathan Liebesman fails?

If he fails to "captivate" the audience with his interpretation of TMNT than which director would you like to take over the reigns of the franchise?

Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott, Ron Howard, George Lucas. Lol, that would never happen. Would be epic if either did it. I know Howard is a huge stretch but everything he does is awesome

Someone with a solid martial-arts movie pedigree. Someone who can do subtlety and high action. Who fits the bill?

It won't matter who directs if Platinum Dunes is still producing it.

Either him or Drive and Only God Forgives director, Nicolas Winding Refn.

I don't tend to pay much attention to directors so not a clue... but preferably someone who's both passionate about the Turtles and has a good amount of successes under his or her belt.

Then I have no idea who that would be. I'm not sure if I want some unknown, who will be just a yes man, I want someone with some clout, and likes CBM for what they are, to tackle this property.

Matthew Vaughn has done 2 comic book movies that are excellent.
Maybe the Russo brothers (but they still might not have the clout to combat the studio heads from interfering)
Tim Burton (as long as he doesn't stick Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter to play Casey Jones and April O Neil)
Zach Snyder (Watchmen had pretty great style, just a sucky story. A good script write could clear that up.)

That's kinda why you need to pay attention to directors.. so you know if they have had a good amount of successes or not.

Yes, definitely Guillermo del Toro. He could do wonders for the franchise.

He would have been a great choice...but I don't want him. Not unless they reboot again. They won't go back to practical suits. We're 'stuck' with these versions for this iteration.

For a sequel, if J.L doesn't return (I'm sure he will though) my pick would be Peter Berg.
