Will they introduce Snake Karai in the comic?

I hope so. These no guarantee they will but if they mutated Karai, it would give more complexity to the character and so far, Karai seem more a like more a clone of shredder than her own character.

Clearly, somebody hasn't read the Karai micro.

I don't even care much for Karai's mutation in the cartoon. Why would I want to see it rehashed in comic book form?

Did they in the cartoon? Cause its a horrible idea. There's already getting to be too many mutants in this comic. We've had three introduced in the last two issues.

Of all the things to adapt from the nick cartoon, I hope snake karai never sees the light of day on the pages of idw's ongoing. Such a terrible idea to mutate nearly every single character on the show. I dislike the idea.

Oh, I thought this thread was about the New Animated Adventures comic. I actually do hope to see Snake Karai in that adaptation.

That's the only flaw of the Nick show.

Not a fan of the sentiment here in the first post. Now, I thought Snake Karai was a pretty cool deisign that fit the Nick show's asthetic and the story of how it happened was well done, IMHO, setting up a lot of anticipation for the next season. That and I find characters being turned into other things a guilty pleasure, it's one of the aspects of the show I loved since I was a little kid.

That said, I disagree with the statement in the OP that Karai in IDW is a Shredder clone. Couldn't be farther from the truth. There's no need to have her turned into anything to keep her interesting.

Just for the sake of argument though, if Karai were mutated, she wouldn't suffer some tragic and ironic fate that Shredder never intended. IDW Shredder would gladly turn her into a mutant if he felt it served his own purposes. He's an immortal who murdered his own family years ago and has members of high ranking Foot Clan members murdered as part of their initiation. He cares nothing for family except as defined by those loyal and useful to him. He would have gladly discared Karai after City Fall if she had not proved herself. He has little of Nick Shredder's twisted love for his adopted daughter when it comes to Karai.

IDW Karai, is not the loyal daughter, who found her whole life a lie and then turned to revenge. Karai made herself a warrior, rejecting her own father's path, drawing the spirit of the not yet resurrected Shredder's attention herself. She is very much like the Shredder in that she is brutally self motivated and interested, clever, and sees loyalty as something earned. In many ways, she mirrors her blood ancestor Saki in her brutallity, cunning and ambition, but seems more realistic in scope than Shredder's pretensions of godhood.

If it's part of the story that Shredder makes her a snake mutant as part of his growing mutant army, or she mutates herself as part of her own ambition, or whatever, that's not a bad thing to me mind you, just as long as it's a good story. That's all I really ask for. Should this character die or live? Get mutated or not? Whatever makes a good story, that's what matters.

Since that's actually in-continuity with the show it'd only be weird if they didn't somehow include Snake Karai.

The only point of Snake-Karai in the Nick show is that they can expand the "Karai is Splinter's lost daughter" plot for more seasons. They likely don't want Karai to be added to the regular hero characters yet (Turtles/April/Casey), and that's their way to avoid it.

Also, it's a bit dissapointing to see Karai getting reduced to a servant of Shredder in every TMNT iteration. She was her ****in boss, not her little daughter. Tho that serves as a way to introduce Karai earlier to the story, not just after Shredder's killed and all.

But about this mutation thing... I could really live without it. But at least it's obvious, that it won't last too long.

Personally I'd prefer it if they didn't but if Tom and Bobby want to do it and can make it fit in with her story arc and character then I wouldn't be 100% opposed as I trust them to tell a great story. Doing it just to tie in with the show though? No way.

The comic is often way late to acknowledge continuity changes, and I think they might just be reluctant to do so. Plus, I'm not sure how much longer IDW intends to keep publishing it, so it's window of opportunity may close before they get a chance to wrestle with the late season 2 developments.

We did see the new Rahzar but that was only in a cameo role in a backup strip, although Fishface and Dogpound have had multiple appearnces. Neither Casey Jones not "Irma" have appeared. Ice Cream Kitty did feature strongly in the most recent issue. And I don't think Timothy "The Pulverizer" has been shown either pre or post mutation.

I'm not sure how much longer the book will stay afloat, but I've enjoyed it for what it is.

Obviously no, it would serve no purpose. The only reason I could imagine that happening would be for brand recognisition, and between the new origin story and OC mutants, I don't see it happening.
