Rocksteady & bebop confirmed for tmnt 2!

Yes it's official, they are in TMNT2. No news yet on who's playing them.

Quote:
Paramount has confirmed that fan favorite henchmen Bebop and Rocksteady will appear in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.

At Paramount’s Cinemacon presentation, the studio showed renderings of the characters as they appear in the film’s current stage of development, likely the same rendering that leaked to the public weeks ago before being squashed by Paramount.

Bebop and Rocksteady were relatively late additions to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mythos. They did not appear in the original Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird comic book series, but were created for the uber-popular 1990s animated series so that Playmates would have more mutants to make action figures out of.

Given the cartoon’s popularity, it became the definitive take on the turtles for many who grew up during that era, making Bebop and Rocksteady an important part of the franchise. As a result, many of those fans have found it baffling that Shredder’s boneheaded mutant thugs have never made it onto the big screen for any of the Turtles’ live action outings.

Bebop and Rocksteady were recently reintroduced in IDW Publishing’s ongoing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turltes comic book series, which rebooted the series to include elements of continuity from each of the Turtles’ many incarnations. They recently made headlines for killing Donatello, in an effort to prove their worth to Shredder.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is schedule to hit theaters June 3, 2016.

I thought it already was? No? What, were we waiting for one final executive to say "yup"?

Awesome though, I'll be very curious how that turns out and goes over with people. Surely it will leak again. (Did we miss it before, and if so, how?? Or just me?)

(Really though, that's like a woman five months pregnant finally confirming that she is. lol I mean, duh, was kind of known. )

Yeah I thought that too and when I saw the news article I thought it was old or just wierd but apparently it was just 'rumors' before and now it's been 'officially' confirmed by Paramount.

I'm guessing in a couple of days we will find out who's going to play them.

I was thinking should I make a new thread or add it to an old thread but I thought someone will end up doing a new thread on it anyway, so what the hell I'll do a new thread anyway.

I'm kinda torn on this matter because while Bebop and Rocksteady are two of my favorite characters, I've gotten used to the idea of them not needing to be in every single incarnation. Still at the same time I've been wanting to see a live action version of them since Secret of the Ooze.

Some more details:

When Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hit theaters last summer, we weren't the only ones disappointed at the absence of villains Bebop and Rocksteady. Well Paramount has heard our complaints, and on Tuesday, after many rumors, it was finally officially confirmed that Bebop and Rocksteady will be in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II.

The announcement was sandwiched between big presentations for Terminator: Genisys and Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation. Concept art for the two characters was shown that did not match the concept art leaked after the first movie hit theaters. This was something new and looked a little more cartoonish. But it was clear this was concept art and it could undergo some serious changes before we finally get a look at how the characters will look in the movie.

This is definitely some of the best news to come out of CinemaCon so far. We can't wait to see the Warthog and the Rhino make it to the big screen.

Paramount may have decided to make an announcement about this, which I guess is news, but it was officially confirmed months ago, by the writers.

And, what, like kill him? This ain't a comic after all...

Besides, he's bullet proof, nothing is getting through there. (Even if Raph's could crack a little via Shredder - but not hummer. Yay no logic.)

You'd need a oil rig drill to get through those shells.

New suit attachment for Shredder perhaps? Or his new minions.

There were recent leaked images of Bebop and Rocksteady for the upcoming movie? I recall seeing some concept art that was made for the first movie.. is this what the article is referring to? Or did I miss something?

Yeah, and apparently they showed new concept art of them during the Paramount presentation at CinemaCon.

Reading their names as "Rocksteady and Bebop" is as mentally taxing as trying to write with my left hand.
