personly

I wish the new toys had great box art like when the action figures first came out
each toy had there own box art and it was so beautiful
it made the toy all the more special to me....
I honestly think they should put differnt box art for each toy because it'd make them easyer to find...like when I was looking for the extream turtles it's a bit hard to tell if a store has them or not if there not sitting up front...
but yes I agree we do need new box art for the toys anyways...
it's kinda lame and cheap looking....as if this was just there test design for the box becaus ethey were afraid to waist money on the tmnt
and that makes me sad...

I found the box art convientent for my wave 2 searching. I just looked for the 4 turtles and it narrowed it down to one of six. lol. It will get harder as the waves continue though. 1 out of a 20 chance i will find the figure.

Actually, I'm glad we have the cards that we do...

As an (ex) Star Wars collector, I learned alot about the concept of unique cards...everyone's see pictures of the old Star Wars cards from the 70's/80's, correct? They had a BIG picture of the character in the movie, and the SW logo around that. Very nice looking.

Fast forward to the 90's, when people WISHed we could still have those cards...according to Hasbro, designing unique cards, printing unique cards, updating the backs, and making sure the right figure ended up on the right card would have driven the price up. If you look at Star Wars lately, EVERY figure comes on the same card, with the only difference being the character's card board insert. (I know the newer cards at least have character descriptions on the back, which is a small step in the right direction).

I know a year ago when I found the first 4 turtle figures, before Shredder, Splinter and the Foot started shipping, I thought for sure the Turtle-unique cards had to be a teaser type of thing...I was pleasantly surprised when they not only continued shipping on those cards, but so did the ES Turtles.

The way I see it, we're reasonably lucky that they aren't ALL coming on the 4-Turtle cards...think about the extra work that goes into cutting out 5 different types of cards, let alone the printing and matching process.

Some characters, such as Quarry or the Nano bot wouldn't even be possible, do to the odd shape of their head, and the fact the card has to be balanced around the J hook.

Class dismissed.

h,mmm

star wars figures are crap first off..and can no way even begin to compair to turtles...(sorry just my 2 cents not trying to start any huge argument)
what I ment though about the cards is I realy wish it was like the old cards
I frankly hate the new cut outs because they get all dented up and ****...
I till this day love going back and looking at my old tmnt figures in there original boxes....
the new line just doesnt feal special to me...because toy companies have become cheep thanks to people like McFarlane for flooding the market...
the only realy good toy company around anymore is Palisades toys
and I can't belive I am saying this but playmates comes in second in my book...
they are doing a nice job....
but...the next mutation figures were still nicer...especially splinter
sorry if I offended anyone...
just angry because I'm a jobless graphic designer that could do a hell of lot better then what they've come up with *le sigh*
Vaughn Michael - the angry artist heh

Well, it's a small world...I'm a graphic artist, too.

In fact, in my college there's this board where people's work gets posted, and someone HAS redesigned a new TMNT card. It was the craziest thing seeing it up on the board, and being so near and dear to my heart.

What the hell was that for?!

Next time you'd like to share your off topic 2 cents thoughts about what is "crap" for no reason at all, save it!

Sayonara.
