What I think of TNM..now that I've seen it. (eek!)

Im gonna try to make this contructive heheh...

I rented the East Meets West. I never seen TNM until now.

First...who the (@#*$& edited the damn thing!? The editing totally sucks. I hear they hacked it up pretty good, no kidding!

This whole dreamworld and dragon business is corny.
Venus is a sad waste of a character. What they should have done if they had to have a chick, was make her a different species of animal. Maybe they should have tried making Ninjara the girl character. Plus Venus was a twit. What's with the braided bandana tails? oh brother. Turtles don't have chichis either.

WTF was that Shredder guy? His outfit looked very very very cheesy!! God he was an insult to the whole TMNT mythos! Eeccccchhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The story was too corny.
Splinter looked likea giant walking stuffed animal. The idea of him playing chess with a blind dude was kinda cool tho.

excuse my typos, its 1.30am.

It was nice to see they rebuilt the whole movie 2 subway set. I like that set.

Now the turtles.
The bandanas are corny.(yea i like tht word) but Raph's is cool, like he just tore it out of material.
I gotta mention the detail in the costume design was well done. Their hands and feet look real, the material they used for their psysique moved well. Now if they did a better job on the animatronics, they'd have been so much better. they had potential. They did look older but no way in hell could they have grown from the movie versions if that's what they were hinting.

The fight scenes were sloppy and pointless. What's with one second Raph gets the crap beat out of him (the final battle) then next sec he's ok. oh brother.
The hummer is retarded. They keep showing the same damn clip by the train...

Raph getting his butt chewed out by Splinter about his bike is funny.
Probably the best scene in this wonderfully edited show was Leo and Raph kickin each other's butt. Raph shoulda won that battle.

Well that's my short painful review.

The show had potential, they just had crappy writers, lame bad guys, no budget , decent costume design and a great subway set. (I hope the set isn't destroyed, that'd suck)

If they had based it wholly on the movie(not 3!) and make it look like it was supposed to look(all dark and cool) and cut out the crappy writing, the chick, and corny bad guys it would have been fine.

I haven't really seen it but I seem to recall that the Next mutation had some record amount of money spent on a children's show? like they were spending a million dollars an episode? I could be thinking of something else though? of the stuff I had seen it seems too much like a camp 60s style batman throwback with turtles instead...holey tinkering turtles batman

a million an episode?!?!? Sure can't tell, other than the original set it looked as cheap as DrWho...ok maybe not that cheap. (and I love DrWHO)

I agree. I totally understand why people don't like this show, but every time I watch it, I still see all the potential. (And I've been watching it alot, damn scripting. At least I have the non-edited taped from TV version.)

I think you should let yourself decide. I mean I heard alot of bashing about this show, but I still watched it with an open mind.

yeah Jarrah's right about watching it with an open mind. It's hard though, partially because of the crappy editing. You think there's gonna be some nice bits coming and SNIP...the (*#@&$ idiots cut it. You dont even get to see when the guys come up with Venus's new name. It's like all of a sudden, she's Venus and not Mei. ugh!

Wish I could see the WHOLE version.

I rented it to try and pass judgement. I wish I could be the producer and MAKE IT RIGHT.
