Seems Jennika and the lesbian pig mutant Sheena might be breaking up. Pretty funny if the new writers break them up after Sophie created the character and made them a couple. But with Sophie out of the picture I guess they don't have to do what she set up.

I don't really care about Jennika's love life one way or the other, but there goes the first real LGBT ship.

I wish it was a mini-series but it's going on probably to issue 10 at the least. It really should be replaced with something else at some point.

Not gonna lie, looks like a good fight, Jen VS that big cyber-bear dude. And I like the fact that he's teasing her for working with the non-killer Turtles, and the also the fact that Jen is just looking to rough him up some and not actually finish the job.

I think all of these spinoffs and side things with tons of other mutants and all that is really undermining what the new, core series is trying to do. I really don't think they thought this through very well.

I hope this is true, this only being 7 issues long would be a blessing.

I don’t hate Jennika the way that some people here seem to. I actually enjoyed the two mini series for the most part largely because they actually tried to do something with the Mutant Town premise, but it looks like it’s time to write her out until someone can figure out what the hell to do with her.

It seems pretty clear to me at this point that she doesn’t really add anything. If anything, she takes away from other characters: She’s the older stepsister figure like April, the cool new female ninja like Alopex, the kid from a broken home like Casey, and has butted heads with Raphael like Leo. This Nightwatcher thing was not the hook she needed to stick around.

That's the thing, it's not even "at this point;" she NEVER added anything. She'd been around for around 50 issues before she got turned into a turtle. Name ONE notable thing she did in that whole time. All she was was a bland, boring character so that Splinter had someone to talk to. The turtle thing was the most interesting thing that happened to her, and even then, it's something that happened TO her, not something her character DID.

And then yeah, after that, she started actively taking away, stealing other character's roles and plot points, taking up page space at the expense of everyone else, and generally being a nexus for all the worst aspects of Campbell's run. Jennika wasn't always horrid, but where she started wasn't too great either. This Nightwatcher thing is just one of many darts thrown at a wall because Jennika has to do all the things. Even Nightwatcher is stolen from other characters.

It's so weird that IDW's version of Venus was actually a very well written character in just the short time she was around. I prefered her over Jennika over these last 100 issues. One of the few things Sophie did right in her run is she actually redeemed Venus from the Next Mutation version and made her into a decent character.

Then she killed her off.

She, to me, clearly represents Danny from the TMNT movie, except she actually got trained and continues to admire the turtles.

The problem I have is that never felt like Jennika was front-page material. I don't mind exploring Jennika, but it seemed ever since she became a turtle that she needed more exposition. Though I do like the idea of her being the turtle's version of Karai.
