Old Toon Homages

I can't believe no one has mentioned these, but here are just a few throwbacks to the old toon I've noticed that I thought would be fun to point out :

In the Ninja Stars flash game at the FoxBox website, the music is the boss theme from the original TMNT Arcade game.

In the Burger King TMNT Quiz, Bebop and Rocksteady are both listed as possible answers for questions (neither of them are ever correct however).

I have a few others, but I think I'll give some other people a shot first .

I think awhile back someone mentioned the Boss theme being used in the Ninja Star game actually.

That's cool they put Bebop and Rocksteady in as answers

hey where is that quiz for burger king, I haven't seen it. Thats really cool that they joke around a bit with the old show. Another example is when mikey got his headband cut short like the old cartoon style, and how they joke around with the word cowabunga.

On the GBA game there are two musical homages.

The music you here after you beat a turtles saga is very similar to the original TMNT theme, and Shredders BG music is a remix of his old theme from the arcade game.

The most prodominent homage to the old show (and jab at it) would have to be in the first episode.

"Cowabun...... gaaaaaaaaaa NOT FUNNY RAPH!" - Mike
"Oh yes it is" - Rapahel

And also... Bizzaro world Ratoids saying "Cowabunga"

Kinda think of it... didn't Mikey make a mention of cowabunga in the Return to Newyork? Something like "at least I didn't say cowabunga". Its been too long since I've seen that arc. Far too long.

Baxter's hand held device when he went to retrieve evidence of the turtles destruction (tales of leo?) looked the same as the communicator Shredder used in season two of the original cartoon. The Super shredder action figure also came with it IIRC

Splinter says in Return to New York Part 2 "In the words of the ancient master; It ain't over till it's over" It ain't over till it's over is a old toon Splinter quote, Enter: The Fly I think.
