Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Vol. 1, #4 cover misprint?

Hello. I don't know where to ask this online except here... I think you are the biggest Turtle fan gathering out there. Anyway... my question is this... I was sorting through my TMNT comic collection tonight for the first time in years and (re)noticed the fact that the cover of my vol. 1, #4 (May 1987) comic has the same cover as my Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1, which is shown below:

http://www.ninjaturtles.com/comics/m...ales/01/01.htm

I checked the offical website for the cover of Vol. 1, #4, and it is not pictured the same as the Tales one (and mine). Which leads me to believe that it's a misprint cover... a fairly big misprint. O_o My question is this... does anyone have the originals and has the same thing or knows if there was a misprint run on #4? (I'd also be interested in knowing if this thing is worth anything... but that's just secondary because I'm kinda attached to my comics. ^^ ) So, does anyone know?

Yes, actually this is a misprint. I guess the logos got switched at the printer. They recalled most of the copies, but in the official treasury they said that some issues were unaccounted for.
It took me awhile to find a copy of this misprint you have. There is also a misprint of Tales #1 with TMNT #4 (second printing)'s cover. This I have never seen, and perhaps none exist, I don't know.
The "real" copy of TMNT #4 (second printing) has a painting by Michael Dooney which was also used as the box art to the first TMNT NES game.

If I had to guess, I'd say that its probably worth a nice little sum. Nothing crazy, but valueable to the hardcore collectors definately
