Thanks, I was wondering. I look around online sometimes but it can be hard at a glance to tell the official releases from the bootlegs. And I'm not trying to order any bootlegs. But I did have a feeling that the Season 8 and 9 sets I've been seeing weren't legit, good to have confirmation.

The question is will it take place way after the Finale where everyone has aged and Twilight Sparkle is now the size of Princess Celestia?

I know some were upset with her and Spike’s design updates but it made sense. I just wonder why only Royalty becomes tall.

I think it’s more likely to take place after becoming a Princess of course but they’re all still how they appeared during the series. So while she’s still new at it.

I had more of a problem with the rest of main six having bags under their eyes then I had with Twilight or Spike's design update.

Y'know, I honestly didn't even notice that. I was too busy dealing with the implications of somepony having actually spawned with Pinkie Pie, as well as the revelation that Applejack and Rainbow Dash were living together.

But seriously, Pinkie Pie had a kid. WTF. You know she's gonna be one of those "cool" Moms who smokes pot with her kids, and lets them and their friends have coke parties as long as they keep it in the basement. WHY does Pinkie Pie have a KID? I wasn't noticing much else, after that. My mind was way too blown.

I mean, I was kinda wondering who the Dad might be, but I doubt she even knows. Something tells me she gets around.

"Instead of abandoning the franchise’s characters and stories, the movie will take place in the same world featured in Friendship is Magic and Pony Life, but jump ahead in time to focus on a new generation of ponies and unexplored corners of Equestria. This creates opportunities to include nods to the property’s previous iterations, both in upcoming content and consumer products offerings.

“If you’re brand-new to the franchise, I think it will grab you and pull you in,” says Thompson. “And existing fans are going to be picking out Easter Eggs for months and years to come.”

There is also some indication of the direction that Hasbro wants to take the series, wanting it to be more inclusive as well as providing some details about the main character, highlighting that they are an activist.

The dad is Cheese Sandwich, who is Pinkies husband in the last episode.

So they’re gonna stay in the FIM universe and “jump ahead” to other ponies. I like that. Maybe I was wrong and it will take place after the others have aged. Kind of what I prefer.

The only thing is it says a departure from FIM/Pony Life designs. So just a stylization? Cause if it’s completely different how it would be the same world? Also mentions the movie will be cgi.

I was thinking maybe the new show/movie would be focused on Luster Dawn? (The pony from the final episode of FiM who is Twilight's student).

Luster Dawn in the final episode even forms her own group of friends at the very end, essentially becoming the new Mane Six.

Ya that’d be cool. It’s partly why I prefer it takes place after the FIM group aged. It’d be interesting seeing Twilight Sparkle be in the long standing Princess role instead of going through trail-and-error which she already did.

That sounds like a lot more of a full reboot than what they were promising previously.

Like, in no world where Twilight and the Mane 6 were around and active would any of those things happen. So that's weird.

I'unno, we'll see. My personal loyalty is to the specific FiM characters and presentation, not MLP in general, so I'd have to see more before I'd jump onboard with any new iteration.
