Wrong background or not that's a great shot of Donnie! You could prolly grab another cel from ebay just for a drome background or something.

Thanks!
I went to the Gem City Comic Con today in Dayton, OH with my buddy TheMasterTurtle and finally got to meet Kevin Eastman. He's a very cool guy and very personable! I had him sign my TMNT #1, 3rd printing, which Laird had signed for me way back in 1993 in Philadelphia. He offered to sign it with the same colored pen, and it literally looks like these were signed on the same day with the same pen, although they're 21 years apart! This comic now means a lot to me because of the circumstances behind the signings and having met both creators finally, even though so far apart. It's also the only thing I have signed by both of them as a result of meeting them. I wish I had asked Kevin to write the year, that would make it even cooler. I also bought this Shredder blank for him to do a quick sketch on: I also commissioned a sketch, but he wasn't able to finish it today, so I'm debating whether to drive back there tomorrow (1 1/2 hr. drive) or let them just mail it to me. It was great to see the many original comic book pages and art Kevin has for sale too, especially from the early comics. Unfortunately my wallet wasn't large enough! I have to mention: I know it was probably because Kevin was a main guest, but the Turtles were in full swing at this con. One dealer even had two Turtlemania Silvers displayed, along with Gobbledygook, the original buttons, and pretty much every classic TMNT collectible comic you can think of. Many dealers had Turtles on their "comic wall". TMNT Adventures issues in NM were priced at $10+. Gone are the days of finding Turtles comics in the $1 boxes! Thanks guys! It's 8 1/2" by 11".
Here are the other things I had signed, the Artobiography, and #14, which Eric Talbot signed and sketched in in 1994. Also I kept the sketch voucher, which is also signed by Kevin: Last edited by MrPliggins; 05-07-2020 at 11:15 AM. |

Very cool stuff me man! Kudos in the error print #1 too. Do you remember what the Dealers were selling the Turtlemania Silver Editions for? I'd be curious to know...
I think TMNT are in full swing everywhere. Saw a bunch of Mirage books for 10 and 15 bucks that are normally 5 and 10 bucks at the show in Camden NJ I was at yesterday.

The one I was looking at was CGC 4.5 and they were asking $1200. The other one was a higher grade, in the 8 or 9 range? Don't quote me on that. It was priced significantly higher but I can't remember.
The button set was priced at $495. They only had Gobbledygook #2 as they said they had already sold #1. Didn't check the price on that one. |

They also said they had a Turtlemania Gold but it wasn't with them. They didn't know what # of 10 it was though.

A few odds 'n ends to add:
Fandom Directory 6, 1984. A cool phonebook-type book. It has a few art contest winners within, including Eastman and Laird with some seldom-seen works (which you may have seen before): One recent pickup: Triceratons with Flying Harness in 3rd style packaging. One closer to completing the DH miniatures collection! Last edited by MrPliggins; 05-08-2020 at 12:50 PM. |
