there was so much recycled footage in that trailer - i thought i had clicked the wrong link as I was watching the first half...

...i've been very supportive of the this movie, and I say with a heavy heart that I was disappointed with that trailer - I want to see some fights, like actual 'i hit you, you hit me back' fight. not just the foot emptying a clip or stuff exploding or people getting thrown around, but an actual, honest to goodness fight.

did anyone else get the impression that this trailer resembled a dubstep song - it was all build up, right up until the screen went black, and they dropped this low bass note, and the turtles started to flash on screen - just saying.

i am glad to see some more closeups of the turtles, and I will happily create a new banner with these images tonight after work.

The irony is that I think Mike looks the best this time.
I think a lot of it is just lighting and seeing them in motion. Donnie looks way different now that I've seen his facial expressions.

Not sure how I feel yet. I think they overdid it with the look of everyone. Donnie's face legitimately is creepy. Shredder looks like a smaller-sized Super Shredder or a monster from Gears of War (from the small shot). The substance of whats going on in the trailer looks suspenseful and intrigues me..but, I'm not too sold on the look of them so far. I think Leo is the one they did get right. I don't know, I'll watch it a few more times and see if it changes.

I'm still very excited to see it, no matter what. Perhaps out of morbid curiosity.

I paused the trailer where Donnie is screaming, he looks like he's behind some bars, possibly when he's captured with the other 2 and put in a prison but also I can see something or someone in the reflection on Don's glasses (maybe it's Shredder).

Thats kind of what i have been saying from the start with there whole Marketing campaign that they are not being lazing or stupid they have a plan and that plan is to just keep thing under wraps a bit more and i think that is a thing movie companies should strive for Just because other movies keep releasing stuff, doesn't mean they should. other on here argue against this idea saying they should have starter so much longer ago. lol and you and me both know thats not always the best.

Yeah to me a good Marketing campaign should be at most 9months with trailer consisting mostly of 30 sec to 2 min trailers at most a 3 min featurette it take more talent to Convey and capture interest using less and should be strived for.

And i wish other felt the same way but there are those that keep saying
"oh im never seeing this SHHHH, looks terrible" and just repeat that every time something new comes out. If you dont want to see it then just stop bothering with it lol. Well, truthfully it'd be Megan, Will Arnett, and their sidekick Bumblebee... whoops, I meant Raph.

Technically, Raph 'only saved the day' maybe a bit in the CGI movie but that's it. In the first film he was in a knocked out and the others saved him and got him out of there, the second film he was captured and the other Turtles saved him (well, and Splinter with his bow & arrow), and he didn't save the day in the third film either.

Yeah, I saw a still of Donnie in one of the other threads. He looks awful, and he was the one that actually looked the best on the models. If I hadn't known about this movie, and someone showed me a picture of him, I would have never guessed him to be Donatello of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I'm not too sure what he's supposed to be.

I still don't know about Donnie, he has a lot going on but mikey and Leo look straight badass which is strange because I've never seen mikey like that.

I was a little thrown off too but i think its a smarter movie IMO show the same things adding more elements to get fans excited. Maybe it would have been better had they edited the extra scenes in throughout the whole trailer of call this an extended trailer not a second trailer

And I meant more that it'll be focused on Raph again, not just him saving the day. Every movie, he's been the central focus of the film, really. His tension with Leo in the first, his relationship with Keno was the main subplot in Ooze, and him with the kid in feudal Japan in the third. He gets all the character focus.

Like the faces even less with these shots myself. With their face being so human it's like it's the inverted design of their regular look. It's like the beak is pushing into their face in reverse if that makes any sense. O_< Still like Leo the best, but he's the one that made me think of the inverted beak design.

Now for "once seen cannot be unseen"...

Sadly, I haven't seen one of those. The 2k3 series I didn't catch until DVDs were out, so I only have the first 2....and getting any more apparently requires a deposit of pristine diamonds. :/

Though I honestly think Raph, again much like Wolverine, isn't a good character to lead a show. My personal opinion is that their character type is best suited as a supporting character who frequently steals the scenes they're in. You use them subtly and they will naturally steal the spotlight rather than sticking them squarely in it. Though for a series, each of them should have a fair share of episodes that's focused on them.

I like how IDW has been handling each of them getting time cycling through into the focus.

If I had my choice? I'd rather see Leo saving the other three in this film simply because I would expect Raph to be the focal point for the movie that brings in Casey. How do you not give Raph screen time when you bring in Casey?!

Well...actually I'd rather scrap the "one saves the others" entirely. I think the first film should be very much a team film that never lets one take focus over any of the others.

Because, to me and a lot of people, those original designs were perfect. People can make fun of the animatronics or such if they want on the previous films (which I would disagree with and seems more apparent lately from some folks) but the actual 'Designs' of the Turtles were Pitch Perfect.

I'm not sure if they were just being lazy by using the same trailer and shoe horning in some new footage. The new turtle shots looked okay, aside from funny particular moments (Whats with donnies face?).

But since there was nothing new, can't really say it changed my opinion about the movie. Kind of blows that they decided to reuse the same trailer, just screams lazy to me.

Don's face only looks silly because his mouth is wide open and he's screaming, especially when we just see it so briefly. The glasses are out of place though. Probably looks better without them.

Other than that they look like we've been seeing. We've seen Don on the poster so we know he's not wildly different from the others.

Or, if their intention is to make a series of movies, make 4 movies. One Turtle gets a main focus in each one, with a lot of support from the others.

Movie 1: Raphael (villain can be Slash or something else)
Movie 2: Donatello (villain can be Baxter Stockman and can introduce April)
Movie 3: Michelangelo (insert your own villain that you'd want)
Movie 4: Leonardo (villain The Shredder in a final battle)

And in all four movies, sprinkle shots and sequences and such of The Foot & Purple Dragons throughout them.

That's what I am thinking, I am not 100% sold on the looks in general but I like the showing of the emotional range. Also, I wonder if he has the glasses on all the time. And not gonna lie, that new shot of Raph looks pretty rad.

So spend as little money as possible marketing the movie to save money when the film cost 125 million dollars???? Yeah I don't think so. It's just early. Wait until mid June- July and you'll see promotional material, trailers, tv spots, and toys everywhere.

I'm glad they didn't show much more. This is just enough to keep me going. The trailer is perfect now. Have some patience and wait, it'll be worth it in the end.
The turtles need to emote in this movie which is something the earlier films lacked. In order for this to be accomplished the faces need to have certain elements otherwise it would look too cartoony and take you out of the movie.
For instance, if they went with faces closer to these:

In order to have the mouth open wide (like with Mikey) and then smaller (like Leo's) skin on the face would have to appear and disappear as needed. This is what happens in cartoons and would look very out of place in a live action movie. Things need to be accounted for in facial structures including natural folds and lines in the skin. If you want convincing real world Turtles that can do more than grunt that is.

I still think the glasses are the issue not necessarily the lips. Theyre accentuating his eyes too much. Making his overall face look nerdy.

It'll look better in full swing and not these brief expressions.

But I saw someone mentioned that Don still has a tooth gap? I kept looking for it and didn't see it, though I admit that actually does leave me worried. I can't understand how they allowed them to look like this. It's just bad design. Not just turtle design-just plain bad and pretty comical. Who would let this slide? Leo looked cool in the teaser and first trailer even though Mikey was ugly, but In this new one... what were they thinking!?

Dude I couldn't agree more. I seriously wonder who the lead designer was on these. They're so busy, in fight scenes you're not going to be able to tell what's going on.

My biggest complaint is the size of them. If they're that big, how can they be ninjas? This is an overarching problem with comic movies now though. There's never a doubt the heroes will win. I can't find drama in knowing someone is never going to lose.

The best example of what I'm talking about is, the Foot beat the Hell out of Raph, Splinter gets captured. Ahhhhh, I guess I'm just hoping for something to change this movie, but it looks like they've fumbled at every turn.

It looks like you got nothing to worry about. It looks like the only thing from the Nick cartoon that this movie shares is that the Turtles have different heights and builds. That's pretty much it.

I think Leonardo looks amazing, definitely the best design. Raphael is second best in my opinion, not totally overloaded and pretty decent, and Michelangelo honestly looked better in this trailer. He just needs to keep his mask on and he's fine.
Now...getting to bad designs. Donatello. Way to ruin a good design (when I saw the poster and the models, he looked amazing). I think putting machinery on his shell is a good idea, but not THAT much machinery. How can he even move? I also thought the glasses were an original idea at first, but now I notice they are ugly and attention-grabbing, way too exaggerated with the tape and huge lens. And then, his face...

So spend as little money as possible marketing the movie to save money when the film cost 125 million dollars???? Yeah I don't think so. It's just early. Wait until mid June- July and you'll see promotional material, trailers, tv spots, and toys everywhere.

Um...actually yeah. Kevin Smith, for example, has lamented multiple times how making double his budget back at a box office doesn't even break even because the studio will sink almost equal to the film's budget on marketing.

Which would mean 125 million budget...spending millions on marketing wouldn't be entirely out of the question. They *are* doing minimal marketing thus far.

Just have to keep waiting to see how it pans out as it gets closer.

Well, I like *this* trailer better than the other one...but I can see it's going to be something where you pretty much leave your brain at home and have to adjust to or ignore the new design. Unveiling Donnie's face this way was an...interesting choice. I just, um, kind of can't help but instinctively hate it. Mikey looks better in the new shots and Leo is by far the best design. If they all looked more like Leo, I'd feel better about everything. Raph actually looks better than Don to me right now, which is a surprise. I still don't feel like I've seen enough of either to know how they'll really look in context, if that makes sense. Don's expression is just so weird in that little glimpse! It isn't the kind of facial expression that is really appealing on anybody or that would establish a good baseline for what anyone's face would look like normally. If he's making open mouthed, pursed lip faces a lot throughout the film (like a habitual, idiosyncratic thing), he's terrifying. The animation on the faces is obviously highly detailed and well done, but it'd be nice to get some friendly and fierce close ups on Raph and Don. And more shots of all of them speaking, laughing, smiling, sneering at opponents. 'Cause so far, I can appreciate the craftsmanship, but just can't help but feel aversion toward the design.

I know I'm hung up on faces, but it's how I relate to characters. I still don't have much of a real sense of the story and why we're supposed to care that the turtles or April are in jeopardy aside from "they look cool" and "lookit the badass fighting and parts of buildings exploding/toppling/whatever". It seems very much like it's a take our word for it, they're heroes and you are just supposed to care about the good guys kinda thing. I hope there's more humor and heart to it than we see here, but I'm not going to bet on that. We'll see soon enough! The action and effects will be pretty, at least.

It's really funny all the hating thing goes in for this, and while I would have made more appealing visual choices and different scale issues and I wasn't on board with the casting/changes, all the negativity just makes me want to see it more. Maybe Donnie just can't see that good and there will be reasoning behind things he has, and I don't see the tape as much a nerdy thing as a fact this his head is too big for them. Hell, I know a lot of people with glasses and if they broke and they didn't want to go buy new ones or taped them together for any reason I'd think its punk as shiz.

I mean I def think they dropped the ball on this, don't get me wrong. And maybe their plan is working and I am warming up to it, but it really doesn't seem that bad. Plus I honestly think that new shot of Raph is pretty sweet looking. It doesn't look like the movie that I thought we'd get, and maybe that's a good thing because it will be something new and different. If I get this check list complete while seeing it I think I will be fine with the movie :

*Makes me laugh
*Makes me want to go skateboarding after
*Makes me want to eat pizza during and after
*Splinter is wise and does some ninja master work on some fools
*Shredder does some actual fighting

You 'waste time' so that they don't break easily in the future, or so that the 'flimsy glasses' won't fly off or so that he doesn't pull a "Jinkies My Glasses" or whatever during an Important Moment (like a battle to protect himself/his family).

The same reason he 'wastes his time' building all of that stuff that's on his back, and in the lair, and so on.

If you look closely if they are an average black framed glasses the bridge would need to be widened For his particular head shape. so He finds Glasses that help breaks the bridge melts plastics in-between to add more distance to fit his face, then reinforces it with thin metal strips, then for safe measure adds duct tape to secure everything in its place and add reinforcement

It's really funny all the hating thing goes in for this, and while I would have made more appealing visual choices and different scale issues and I wasn't on board with the casting/changes, all the negativity just makes me want to see it more. Maybe Donnie just can't see that good and there will be reasoning behind things he has, and I don't see the tape as much a nerdy thing as a fact this his head is too big for them. Hell, I know a lot of people with glasses and if they broke and they didn't want to go buy new ones or taped them together for any reason I'd think its punk as shiz.

I mean I def think they dropped the ball on this, don't get me wrong. And maybe their plan is working and I am warming up to it, but it really doesn't seem that bad. Plus I honestly think that new shot of Raph is pretty sweet looking. It doesn't look like the movie that I thought we'd get, and maybe that's a good thing because it will be something new and different.

For the record, I do think Raph looks badass. He's pretty much the Call of Duty of turtles, so if I had to guess, the Liebsman/Bay camp are probably making him the main focus.

If I get this check list complete while seeing it I think I will be fine with the movie :

I'm with you the two things I wanna see are of the turtles interacting with one another and seeing some actual martial arts fighting. We've only seen seconds of them fighting which is a real shame.

The turtles need to emote in this movie which is something the earlier films lacked. In order for this to be accomplished the faces need to have certain elements otherwise it would look too cartoony and take you out of the movie.
For instance, if they went with faces closer to these:

In order to have the mouth open wide (like with Mikey) and then smaller (like Leo's) skin on the face would have to appear and disappear as needed. This is what happens in cartoons and would look very out of place in a live action movie. Things need to be accounted for in facial structures including natural folds and lines in the skin. If you want convincing real world Turtles that can do more than grunt that is.

TMNT did just fine emoting as well with the classic head design. The old puppet heads from the first movie emoted really well, and a CGI version of a similar design would have given it the extra push it needed to work by modern standards. The lips redesign is just disturbing to look at. I hate it.

if you dont want the movie spoiled, avoid some trailers not all

I have come to the conclusion, for when I'm looking forward to a movie, to not watch any trailers. Try to avoid them. I started this around last year when my friend started pointing out how much they put in trailers. Started it with Thor 2, and when Thors hand was chopped off, I was like 'whoa, really?' I had no idea if that was actually true or not, since I hadn't seen the trailers. Does he have a fake hand half the time? I didn't know, and that's the beauty of it.

The point if a trailer is to get you excited for the movie. To get you in the theatre. So ... if you already are excited and you know you'll watch the movie, why watch the trailers? Eventually, for me, not seeing the trailers and not knowing exactly how everything will pan out helps me enjoy the movie more.

One movie I'm especially looking forward to is Amazing Spider-Man 2. I really liked the first movie, and love Spider-Man comics, etc., so I tried to avoid the trailers WAY more. There were two times it was playing in my theatre, and I literally covered my ears, strummed the back of my head, closed my eyes, and hummed softly. When I fast forward through commercials, I have started to close my eyes so I don't get a glimpse. I've started trying to stay away from televisions, so I don't see a glimpse. I've tried to avoid spoilers and pictures on social media feverishly. And you know what? It's all been worth it, because everyone's saying they've 'seen the whole movie already'. And I get to go into the theatre, with hardly knowing ANYTHING. Sure, I know some things about the film, and since I've read the comics, I have a guess how they'll pan out. I have a guess about something that may happen to someone. But the glorious thing is, I don't know. And I'll have an awesome time watching it tonight.

The reality is, studios shouldn't be giving so much away to make people want to avoid the trailers. You should give enough to draw them in, and then blow them away in the cinema.

(The reasons I've watched these TMNT trailers, though, is mainly because of the controversy. I'm still being won over. In the beginning, I was not sure if I was excited for this film. And plus, I have a TMNT podcast, so we have to talk about it. And that's why I'm super happy that the marketing is trying to keep this 'non-spoiler-ish'!)

i feel this trailer is a perfect example on how to sell it without giving away to much information..its new enough for the general public that it will be a nice refresher of hey look whats coming with nice shots of the turtles

Well, I like *this* trailer better than the other one...but I can see it's going to be something where you pretty much leave your brain at home and have to adjust to or ignore the new design. Unveiling Donnie's face this way was an...interesting choice. I just, um, kind of can't help but instinctively hate it. Mikey looks better in the new shots and Leo is by far the best design. If they all looked more like Leo, I'd feel better about everything. Raph actually looks better than Don to me right now, which is a surprise. I still don't feel like I've seen enough of either to know how they'll really look in context, if that makes sense. Don's expression is just so weird in that little glimpse! It isn't the kind of facial expression that is really appealing on anybody or that would establish a good baseline for what anyone's face would look like normally. If he's making open mouthed, pursed lip faces a lot throughout the film (like a habitual, idiosyncratic thing), he's terrifying. The animation on the faces is obviously highly detailed and well done, but it'd be nice to get some friendly and fierce close ups on Raph and Don. And more shots of all of them speaking, laughing, smiling, sneering at opponents. 'Cause so far, I can appreciate the craftsmanship, but just can't help but feel aversion toward the design.

I know I'm hung up on faces, but it's how I relate to characters. I still don't have much of a real sense of the story and why we're supposed to care that the turtles or April are in jeopardy aside from "they look cool" and "lookit the badass fighting and parts of buildings exploding/toppling/whatever". It seems very much like it's a take our word for it, they're heroes and you are just supposed to care about the good guys kinda thing. I hope there's more humor and heart to it than we see here, but I'm not going to bet on that. We'll see soon enough! The action and effects will be pretty, at least.

I agree with you on some aspects. Really, REALLY liked the close-ups. Didn't have a problem with anything that I remember, expect maybe Donnie looking a little 'hillbillie'-ish, but that will probably grow on me in the movie, and it was already a weird shot of him anyway. It got me really excited.

But was it enough? Eh ... no. They're going to have to release more of the turtles to get people in the theatres. So, as you said, would really love more and various shots of the turtles, to show off more of their faces. That's what'll be even more exciting.

Just saw the second trailer last night. Not much of a second trailer, but I loved the new shots of the Turtles. I'm glad Donny doesn't have the Nick tooth influence. i think he can do without the nerd glasses; he already has enough gear on him as it is. Shredder looked huge. Probably some mech type armor. I've just decided a negative opinion isn't welcome here and figure I just shouldn't post my thoughts anymore. /shrug

I'd like to see Leo get the focus to start the trilogy, Raph in the film where Casey is introduced, but with a trilogy that leaves Mike or Don in a position of getting the shaft. If a Stockman/mouser focus with Don getting most screen time, that makes Mike comic relief through all three films.

I'd prefer an Avengers approach with a team movie where all of them get screen time. I thought Winter Soldier did a great job of, despite being a Captain America movie, giving good development time to Widow and Falcon and even a bit with Fury.

But Raphael is the "Wolverine" character type and the most anti-hero, so he'll be the primary focus of the films, I suspect. Hollywood loves the bad boy anti-hero and can't seem to think of any other character type being the lead.

This film keep's looking weirder and weirder. I'm loving how shockingly strange every new picture revealed is. That image of Donatello with his mouth wide open is so captivating and fresh to the franchise. you can say that again. That shot with donny kind of makes him look a little like jar jar binks to me. I'm still not sold on this.This trailer gives us clearer shots of the turtles and my thoughts on them haven't changed. I still think their design is overcomplicated and that they're overall bigger than they should be. Still no hint at the quality of the martial arts action but hopefully thats because they haven't finished the cgi work and not because whoever cut the trailer couldn't find any worth showing. On the subject of donnies nerd glasses anybody thinking they actully have a purpose are unfortunately probably over thinking things.
Based on the past work of this films producer I think its much more likely he has those glasses
for the same reason jetfire had a cane in revenge of the fallen.

Hmmm, interesting new shots.

I don't think my opinion has changed, I am still highly disappointed with the look of the turtles. The aesthetic to me is everything, but I am open to the "energy" of the movie. It seems to be hitting those well-worn action movie notes so I'm not hopeful but I do try to appreciate they are even giving this franchise another go.

I just still can't decide whether to support the movie or not by going to the theater. :lol:

As for the look, I think I get that they are going for a realistic thing, although I personally don't like it. Giant turtles are cool looking enough, I don't need all this stuff. Makes them look like the junk lady from Labyrinth, lol.

I agree with what someone said earlier, Don's glasses are probably just adjusted from a regular pair to something what would fit him. They could easily be necessary or just magnification for working on small parts. I'm curious to see if he really wears them the entire time.

The story structure is really odd looking so far. Will it really be more of a generic destruction movie?

Personally I loved the new trailer. Every new little glimpse I get I become a little more pumped to see this movie. Despite all of the negative backlash on the movie I personally hope it does well and that it turns out to be a good flick.

Just saw the second trailer last night. Not much of a second trailer, but I loved the new shots of the Turtles. I'm glad Donny doesn't have the Nick tooth influence. i think he can do without the nerd glasses; he already has enough gear on him as it is. Shredder looked huge. Probably some mech type armor. That shot of Raph looked sick. He's got all their weapons. Saving his bros I assume. Hopefully we get even more footage than this next time. The close up shots looked good. The CG stuck out at times, but the footage got me a little more hooked than before.
I think it was a great second Or extend trailer, Not to much not to little just enough to get the buzz going.
I have a feeling we'll be getting character posters soon ... At least before the next trailer.

The only turtle I still want to get a better look at is Raph, but otherwise, I'm happy with the designs. I don't think they are ugly like some people say. A little creepy maybe, but these are mutant turtles done in a realistic fashion. I still think they retain a certain amount of the "cuteness" they used to have.

I agree with this. They actually seem to grow on you, when I watched the first trailer I was a little put off, but time passed and as I saw the still images of them, I got to like them (or just got used to them, not sure which) same thing with this new trailer. I was really saddened by Donatello, but just looking at the stills of him, I like it! Especially the glasses!

And as far as "cuteness" goes; I wished they had stayed focused on Michelangelo just a half second more, he looks like his about to smile:tgrin:

I've warmed to Mikey and Leo. But the look of Raph and Donnie really isn't doing it for me.

For Donnie, it's the glasses, when I first saw a shot of him, I thought he might be wearing night vision goggles or something cool like that, but the nerd glasses with the patch tape for some reason makes me really angry, it's a horrible and unnecessary nerdy stereotype. I've always liked that Donnie is the clever one, but he's never been so scrawny as to look like he would be beaten down by a bully for his lunch money. I'm not going with this at all. Also, his lips and nose make Mikey's first appearance seem like a real non-issue.

As for Raph, it's the full bandanna, I'm just not going with it. There's also something I don't like about his face, but I just can't quite put my finger on it.

Well, technically it was the whole family that rescued Leo. Including Mikey, Donnie, April, Casey Jones, and Splinter having their moments while fighting the Foot (which unfortunately was what, maybe 1 Minute Long at Most?) So it wasn't just Raph by himself saving Leo, they all did. And Leo, Mikey, & Donnie saved Raph in both the first and second movie (from being put in a knocked up/put in a coma or tied up & gagged).

The first movie I can understand, and the CGI film I can also understand someone saying it's 'Raph-centric'. And there are other avenues too, like the comic books and cartoons aren't Raph-centric...even the 2003 cartoon at one point was referred to as The Leonardo Show, and some would argue that the 2012 cartoon is more Leo & Donnie's show than Raph's & Mikey's...

But yeah if I had the choice I would love to see both Raph & Mikey at the forefront of a film with some buddy-buddy banter between them.

I agree that the TMNT enemy roster isn't as large as other franchise's, but it is pretty much untouched when you look at the few films there has been. There's so much potential! Well, if you must know...and I will keep this Civil so not to go into a battle over this.

I still haven't seen any of the trailers to this film. The reason is simple.

One, I don't need to. And two, because you are telling me to do it and being extremely rude about it. Which makes me just want to do the opposite of what you tell me to do.

This Forum (along with the Internet in General) has shown enough Pictures, Gifs, and posts about all of the trailers that there isn't even a Need to see the trailers...for example, you/yourself have a GIF of Leonardo doing his flip.

And there are photos/GIFS under many people who post here, on facebook, and everywhere else on the Net.

GIFS of Raph and the Humvee. Your Gif of Leonardo doing a flip. Pics of Donnie and people saying he looks like Louis from Ghostbusters with his nerdy glasses. (which I agree with them on). Gifs of Splinter twirling his blade, Photos of Mikey which I think he looks too much like Shrek...I even made a post saying "I didn't see the new trailer, but let me guess. There is still no Martial Arts Fighting from the Turtles, correct?" And someone told me I was correct.

So what would watching the trailers do any differently? From what people posted, it would just be to see Megan Fox stare, the same Mikey joke that has been told repeatedly through many posts, and more William Fichtner. No one has said anything of the Turtles 'engaging with one another', or the 'Badass Action/Fight Scenes' that have been promised, or 'Signs and hints of Great Banter between the Four'...otherwise it would be showcased in many posts, GIFS, and photos.

When someone tells me 'hey, this one has the Turtles actually engaging in Martial Arts Fighting and it looks Cool!' and 'wow, they are showing some great banter between the Turtles' then maybe I'll give that specific trailer a look.

But as of now? You know what they say. A Picture is worth a Thousand Words. In this case, the GIFS and Photos and Posts from Fellow Fans of the Turtles speak Millions.

And alliance, like I stated before to you both here and on youtube where you first went after me.

The other reason why I did not watch the trailers? Because of you...being consistently mean and rude to me (as have one or two other folks who support this film).

It just makes me not bother watching the trailers, because doing so would be me giving in to your rudeness. And I am trying my BEST to keep this as Civil as possible so that it doesn't turn into another battle/war.

If it weren't for adults and their imagination 30 years ago, we wouldn't be having the TMNT today. Lets see any kid, at all, come up with 90% of the comic books and cartoons loved by all. There are reasons why certain properties last for ages, it's because it is enjoyed by all, not just the kiddies, and most studios who have a brain know to market their properties for all ages to enjoy.

However, the comic books that the TMNT are from, are very adult oriented, and perhaps we would like to see that take on for once.

And yes, your comment is offensive. Some of us can have jobs and relationships and worry about a movie, all at once, just fine. We're adults, we've been conditioned to multitask.:P

1990 was all Raph he is pretty much the driving force of the whole movie.
Soto was very Donnie centric. Raph gets caught, Mikey Jokes, Leo talks about being a true Ninja and Donnie Owns.
Tmnt3-Is Mikey Centric.
Tmnt 2K7 is a Leo and Raph Bromance story with a bunch of crap in between.

With that being said I'd like to see this movie focus the most on Leo but a lot on the rest of them as well. (and not just comedy relief guys). I have a feeling it will be focusing on Leo more than any other Turtle, like the Transformer movies with Optimus Prime (although to be fair it's mostly focused on LeBouff and Fox which SHOULD not be the case)


I personally would prefer a Mikey Centric Movie. The sequel to 2K7 seem to be just that and I'm a little disapointed that particular storyline didn't at least get a comic adaption.

They are suppose to be Human/turtle mutants, I guess in thoery they could be green coloured people depending on sever their mutation was. Its just we are used to them looking more "turtle" in the face. The movie has much more human look to them.

I don't think my opinion has changed, I am still highly disappointed with the look of the turtles. The aesthetic to me is everything, but I am open to the "energy" of the movie. It seems to be hitting those well-worn action movie notes so I'm not hopeful but I do try to appreciate they are even giving this franchise another go.

I just still can't decide whether to support the movie or not by going to the theater. :lol:


This is me. I'm open to the story and the atmosphere, and I have no problems with exploding crap and TMNT being more brawlers than Ninjas, but like you, their aesthetic make up is everything to me, so that definitely dips the scale to the negative for me.

I'll probably go see it in the theater. My hope is, the movie opens big in it's debut weekend, but because the looks are so revolting, the next week and so on drop sharply, and hopefully the studio heads take note that there is interest, just don't change the dynamic so much for the sake of change to the point that it alienates the fans who made the property so popular to begin with.

All Raphs doing there is opening his mouth. That's it. Its the lighting, camera angle and the scream that make that shot effective. And I don't get how anyone can say that these designs are "Lazy".. If anything it looks like they worked hard on them.. but didn't know when to stop. Like any passionate artist.. You can ruin a work of art if you don't know when to walk away from it. I get that some may not like it.. but imo calling someone else's work "Laziness" or a "lack of effort" just isn't right.. I think cutting and pasting the same puppet faces from 24 years ago would be a " lack of effort" but that's just me..The design guy actually created a profile on here, he's actually a really nice guy. I don't understand why it is so hard for you guys to understand that they are teenagers. Don't any of you remember what it was like when we were teenagers? Don't you remember High school? How acentric some were at that age? Teenagers love to go over board when expressing themselves. They're trying to find themselves. He's opening his mouth and his brow is furrowed and tense. I'm not saying it's complicated, but it works. Also check the Turtles' reactions after their vision from Splinter. Those faces manage to sell the emotion.

The point is, those animatronic puppet faces from 1990 were able to convincingly portray several very different emotions, and actually rather well. I'm not saying that modern CGI can't do more - in fact, I specifically said it could! - but that the argument that the faces had to be redesigned to look more "human" for the sake of emoting is a flawed one. We know that isn't true. If the '90 Henson faces could emote effectively, there's no reason that general facial design couldn't work all the better with modern technology. Again, though - that would take a lot more work, developing a more "inhuman" facial structure, than just patterning them over human actor's faces.

I'm suggesting that developing/mapping out a whole new facial structure that captures the look of the Turtles as they've always been while also making them more expressive and impressive-looking than ever before would have been the ideal option. The route they went is lazier, IMO.

My concern is that it's just a lazy way to establish character traits without actually doing the work with proper characterization and development.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion but If you guys would just try to look past all of the controversy and nostalgia and see that there is true talent in what they've done.. Instead I see every page being bombarded with the same stupid jokes when people know how passionate some are about this film. I wonder if that is intentional? Honestly.. I am embarrassed to call myself a Ninja Turtles fan.

One thing to note is that, This trailer is being referred to as a 3D trailer, So hopefully they will have it in 3D in front of showings of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 this weekend.

I went to a 3D showing of ASM2 tonight and they showed this trailer but it wasn't in 3D. I figured it would be.

Went to a 3D showing of ASM2, and they had the trailer in 3D! Looked sweet on the big screen, and now I may actually see TMNT in 3D. I liked what I saw. And, from what I heard around me, people seemed excited.

(Also, really liked ASM2. I really don't agree with the critics on this one, even though if I had to nitpick, sure, I would change some things, but it's like that with all movies. Okay, anyway...)
