Important: This new thread was created due to the original being so full of bickering that it was beyond recovery. Discussion and debate is fine, but any and all fighting/insulting will result in Severe discipline. I and the staff will not allow the forum to get in such a poor state again. You have been warned.

First Trailer:

Brothers TV Spot:

Okay, so after much waiting, we Finally got the official trailer to look at. A lot of controversy has come up in terms of Eric Sachs, with his ties to April's father, his "creating heroes" line in the first trailer, not to mention that giant wall scroll that's got some really weird looking images on it. And what about the voices now?

The Brother's TV Spot gives us our (possible) first soundbite of Splinter's voice, and a partial view of what he looks like - is his necklace of jade or a vial of ooze? What's with the weird hair and fu manchu beard? What kind of Splinter are we going to have based on what we've seen so far?

I'm sure many of you have a lot more questions, and as we get new trailers and movie spots, you'll be able to speculate and make your own theories...

Okay, we're going to do this one day at a time.. have fun, and play nice. :)

I'll go first, I'm really weirded out by the sound of Splinter's supposed voice. I am in the "this film is gonna suck" camp, but trying to stay open-minded in hopes their fresh spin on things will spark some new tmnt love and better incarnations, but Splinter is giving me a bad vibe. Hair, voice, clothes... Idk.

watching the trailer and the sliding down the snowy hill, part of me wonders how Donatello is sliding so smoothly

it also makes me wonder how it is attached to his shell

I liked both trailers one from the view point on shedder and the other from splinter, Tony's voice actually sounds really really good to me. Now lets get one from the view point of Leo :)

Edit: I can't help but think splinters bout to whoop some butt, really fluid movement this ain't no old and feeble rat :)

Yay! Movie discussion is opening up again!

But, regarding the trailer, as I've already said, I'm cautiously excited about what I've seen and what this movie has for us, and am excited to see more.

His voice does sound great and while I'm interested to see a white-sounding Splinter, I have some reservations concerning it and the way it is going to coincide with his Asian "look."

The Yoda-esque fight though should be cool to watch.

You know that never even dawned on me...

Me neither.

Are you going to wipe our butt's too? I wasn't even part of any argument but this place is starting to feel like a playpen.I'm compelled to voice my opinion that the moderating is too extreme. Much love for the hard work to keep the place running, all else aside.

To be positive and on topic, I'd like to mention that I absolutely love Mikey's design. I'm not sure I've voiced that yet and I've seen mostly a negative response from it around here. Yeah, I could do without the overbearing nose, but the color scheme, pants, and bandana are all visually appealing to me. It sort of remind's me of how spectacular the alien designs were in District 9. I loved the clothing and color's they picked out for "Christopher", the main alien/prawn.

I don't like what I'm seeing for the most part. What I do like are tiny things like Shredders new suit or the new lair.

Well, to put it simply.

*I do not like the look of the Turtles, particularly Mikey's face. I can't help it, the nose/nostrils thing is hideous to me, especially for a character like Mikey who is the one that calls himself 'The Cute One' as well as being the Baby Brother of the group.
*I don't like the Look of the CGI, it's not 100% believable to me.
*I feel that Raphael (my favorite character) is too much like a giant, and it does seem like he is just acting like an Incredible Hulk. It would be nice if he has actual full-on Martial Arts sequences (roundhouse kicks, rabbit punches, MMA takedowns, jump kicks) but so far, it just seems like actions that The Hulk would do in The Avengers...and so far nothing they've shown has dissuaded my feelings that it won't just be that.
*I don't like the fact that, so far, they haven't shown any of the Martial Arts Fighting skills of the Ninja Turtles, or any of the 'The Raid/Fist of Legend' influenced fight sequences that the makers have said repeatedly (which can be done in PG-13...even Jason Statham films like The Transporter movies did that with the PG-13 rating...and I do feel that if you have a teaser and a tv spot, that at least a hint could have been shown...especially since it is only a few months until the film comes out. Showing an ounce of it would not ruin the film because hopefully there should be Many fight scenes, and would also make for better marketing).
*If the film is really about the bond between the Ninja Turtles, and the film has scenes of the Turtles bonding with each other and having 'real, family moments' (whether it be them making fun of each other, talking with each other, ribbing each other, etc.) then hints of that should be shown.
*I was never a fan of William Fichtner, and this does nothing to change my mind on that matter.
*I still have a bad feeling that it will be Megan and Will Arnett, the Movie.
*And if people disagree, that is fine. These are just my opinions.

I know i really don't need to post (most people know im loving what i've seen)

But here we go.

Im loving just about everything
-I love Shredders Armor(even the dreaded bladed cape) I just think he look menacing
-I love Fichtner as an actor and really when i heard he was cast it was one thing i thought people wouldn't complain about but what ever.
-I love the lair the whole thing screams TMNT to me lived in Teenaged sewer dwelling (pizza sofa and all)
-I love the Turtles actors all of them(sad to see Pete Ploszek recast) I think they all fit the characters perfectly Pete and Alan are about the same height and build as i would imagine those two would be I love Noel as mikey i think he was a perfect choice funny energetic and a talented actor. Jeremy Is also a perfect don IMO i love his characters in countless movie as soon as i heard he was cast i thought it was perfect.
-I love the look of the turtles Personally Love the Realism/ mutant look. I think mikey looks great. Leo is perfect Like raph want to see more, and even Donnie seem pretty great IMO, i cant wait to see them all in action fully. I like the character they put into how they dress some say cluttered i say expressive. I also love splinter very IDW and even Tony as the voice sound great from what i have heard. (i am sad to see Danny pushed aside)

Also there size did the math leo and raph are only about 6' tall, so those worried about their "huge height" can calm down.

- I love the stunt groups working on the movie these people are very talented and while we haven't seen much action i cant wait to see what they do and it should be great if these people are any indication
-I love they they are drawing from Multiple sources wolf, Mirage, IDW, Nick, and 2k3.
-Love that we are finally getting a movie version of the turtle van LOVE IT.
-I love the wolf added character Vernon and Bernadette i can wait to se come nod to the wolf show.
- I was super worried about Megan fox as April trust me when i say i was mad. But as i calmed down, and info started to come out Shes a fan, and she isn't going to be overly sexualized and say what you will about her acting but movies she has been in (that shes not just some side character) she acts decent and i personally think she will do fine as April.
-I love the Fact that they kept TCRI
-I am awaiting 100% confirmation that Baxter is in the movie i have a feeling that there will be other mutants. But that's just a hunch.

I love both trailers, But i love the splinter trailer most and i love his monolog gets me hyped every time "BROTHERS" hehehehehehe

I enjoyed both trailers. After seeing the first one I had problems speaking for about 3 days, screaming like a 12 year old girl through the entire thing. I must say I liked the Brothers TV spot more. I absolutely love Splinters design and his Voice. Its a little different, but has that wise tone to it. It just fits for me. The little hints of fight action from Don and Raph make me really want to see the intense fight scenes this film will supposedly offer. I love all of the nods to the past iterations. The little hints in the trailer like the scroll and the TCRI canister. I wonder how it will all play out. I think for the first time in twenty years I actually felt that creeped out feeling from my first look at Leo when he landed on the brick wall. I had that same feeling as a kid when I watched the film. The part where Raph screamed in the lair after realizing that Splinter had been kidnapped. That scared me as a 6 year old. The updated look that these new Turtles have, brought that same feeling back but in its own way. I think they should be freaky looking as they are mutant/humanoid turtles. The joke at the end was spot on. It wasn't dirty or offensive, it was a clean innocent joke. Good ol TMNT humor. I hope the film will have a good balance of Action/grittiness/humor and suspense. Im hoping for a good story with some new intriguing twists. Ive heard rumors from a few people online that we might be getting our first theatrical trailer on the 5th of may. Its a "rumor" but I would be ecstatic if we got a new trailer on the 5th, the 30th anniversary of the TMNT franchise. A full two and a half minute trailer! Fingers crossed. I am so excited to see this film. Im excited to relive that same overflowing joy and excitement I felt as a child watching the first film. The thought of sequels with new villains makes me even more excited. My brother was killed in Afghanistan in late July of 08. Every year around that time things get a little rough for me and my other brothers. It may sound ridiculous but at least now I have a film like this to take some of the sting out. Im thankful for it.

Ok, I'll be honest on several things, both positive and negative. Believe it or not, the negative isn't that much, it just holds a lot of weight for me.

So, here goes.
I like Megan Fox, so have no issues with her playing April.
I like the fact that the story is going to be different instead of the same damn this I have seen now, what, 2, 3 times now. So, if I go to see this movie, the story will be unpredictable for me.
I don't mind William Fichtner playing The Shredder. I still think he's the real Oruku Saki's primary henchman for the NYC faction, and the real Saki is still back in Japan.
I don't mind how big the Turtles are, and I really don't mind that they are super strength and we haven't seen any ninja stuff yet, but the ninja stuff was never the reason why I was a fan of the Turtles to begin with. It was their personalities and their willingness to help people in trouble, although those same people might not be so kind to them. They could scrap the Ninja and have them the Teenage Mutant Brawling Turtles (and it won't be that far off since my favorite Turtle is the known brawler of the group) and as long as they have the personalities in tact, I am ok with it.

What do I not like. The faces. I just don't like the fugly faces. I like my Turtles cute and cuddly. I don't have a problem with the clothes and extra apparel, and I'm actually digging Raph's full head bandana. It kind of reminds me of the Harley Davidson bikers I hang out with, and if he has his signature motorcycle in here, all the merrier. But damn, why did they have to make the faces so cruddy. It puts a damper on the whole damn thing for me.

Well might as well throw my hat in the ring... I don't like how the Turtles look, for starters, Raph and Mikey in particular. The action scenes look cool though. I don't care that the Turtles are super buffed up, as long as the enemies they fight are at least as tough. If, however, they only end up fighting weaponised Foot Soldiers and Shredder, well... :ohwell:

As for Splinter, I like his design but I don't like his voice. I'm not a fan of him not having an Asian accent. I really hope they make him Yoshi's pet instead of being Yoshi, so that they can at least have some sort of excuse for it. I also think that that's a jade necklace and not a vial of ooze.

Shredder...ugh. Design wise he's OK. I only have nitpicky complaints in that department. I don't like how he's whitewashed and I don't like Sachs as of yet. I really hope the thing with him and April's father makes me like him better.

I honestly think we just might get a good balance in this film. They put so much into each character and i think well get a good amount of Mikey and Don too. Well probably get some good laughs out of mikey and see Don doing his thing with the tech stuff. That's my guess. Raph obviously has the spotlight during some parts of the film but i think we will get a good balance. I think their personalities will probably be very potent and enjoyable. Personally I cant wait to see Raph get angry in this movie lol

That's perfectly understandable, and nah that's not asking too much at all. In this day and age of making a new Ninja Turtle film, that is something that should be done and should be a no brainer.

Now, will the makers of the film do that? Personally, I'm very doubtful about that.

I don't understand the "Splinter should have an Asian accent" thing. I've always just heard him as an older sounding man and not a specific accent. If you go with the origin where Splinter was yoshi's pet, he learns to speak after being mutated in the sewers of New York so I think he would have an American accent. If you go with the origin that Yoshi IS Splinter, it makes more sense but if you really want to get technical, wouldn't he be speaking Japanese? I think his voice in this teaser sounds good! He sounds a lot like he did in the 80s show.

Hmm well to begin
I don't like the turtles being mini hulks as it forces you to make evrything else over the top to match them. Not really a fan of using absurd technology for Don if it isn't really explained where he got it, It was my gripe in each cartoon as well. I don't like the too humanoid faces for the Turtles or in Raph's case too mamalistic looking. I don't mind the aacesseries but some of them I highly question. *cough* glasses Don/Raph*cough* I hate Shredder's armor as I still can't believe a ninja master can fight in that without be blindsighted and I'm not too thrilled about the story angle since some form of revenge has existed in the TMNT even the OT version however small a role it played.

What I do like is the voices are what I've heard of them so far. The action scenes look ok but to grand for a ninja battle. The turtle van is cheesy but ok but I hate its has the name "Shellraiser" would've preferred an original name. Comedy might be there hopefully and not overly vulgur otherwise I wouldn't classify it as a family movie.

Horrendous creature design aside, looking at the second trailer, it seems they have given Raph a nose job. When he orbits that soldier his nose looks more reptilian then mammal compared to the earlier designs used for the promotional poster and toy packaging.

I've spent $20 on worse :P This movie is definitely worth spending $20 on just to be part of the discussion, good or bad.

We don't get a new live action TMNT movie often. I think most of us here, as fans, need to experience it in the best way -- on a nice big screen with a full audience!

That is the best way we can judge it and put it into perspective

For this reason I am hoping they release it on IMAX, anyone heard any info about that?

P.S.... if you see the movie in 3D... there are special glasses coming out

Refractive Reflections

Here I go into the line of fire...

As for the live-action trailer, my predictions about this movie being a much darker version than we (the fandom) have experienced seems to somewhat still be holding up:
http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?p=1207383#post1207383

I don't necessarily mind this level of darkness, but as my post mentioned before, if it doesn't address some of the practicality/logic issues, people won't take the movie as seriously as it apparently wants to be taken and it will be an unintentional parody of itself.

I don't know... :ohwell: Seeing Leonardo land on the concrete ledge creating an impacting dust cloud, and Raphael being used as a wrecking ball against a military Humvee (a turtle shell against armor used for IEDs) is just screaming an excessive amount of action "loudness" to me at the expense of a dark-oriented plot. I mean aren't ninjas supposed to be quiet and stealthy? Poor Raph, his brute strength is being taken to such an extreme level that he's being used as a wrecking ball. LOL, with Leonardo's landing, I'm sure the residents in the building could hear him 3-4 floors underneath him, so much for being part of the "shadows". As for how these four are gonna fit in the TurtleVan, LOL...

Of course, and as always, this could all change when the movie is actually released, but for now... honestly... I couldn't stop laughing at the trailer. William Fitchner's vocal narration/introduction was so cliche and hilarious, I mean the "high rise in crime in our great city" speech could easily be interchangeable with any other superhero movie.

One thing that is actually an interesting twist for me is seeing how April's father and Shredder/Eric Sachs are somehow associated with each other in "creating" the Turtles.

Hearing how they are using Johnny Knoxville's voice for Leonardo now, and how they are still refilming some scenes (according to Alan Ritchson) after a budget of $125 million... yeah... I'm not having much confidence in this film. Ever since this movie's beginnings, it has all been a messy production. It seems that this production staff is struggling to put something cohesive (like a big tape job) with a hodgepodge of elements they have. As examples, the Turtle designs, the script writing of the past, Bay being shifted from director to producer, voice over changes, etc rather than some confident, firm concept or idea of where they want to take the Turtles and their character development. Then again, this is a Bay film, so expecting this level of depth is a joke and it will probably be like most Bay films, a superficial "bad ass" violent film with a thin plot and thinner characters, which will be massively successful as a perfect "turn off your brain" summer flick.

Then again all those setbacks could all be nothing but a PR ploy just to keep us talking, LOL. I mean the public is more interested in talking about a train wreck rather than something going smoothly, so all my logic could be turned right on its head.

hope the rumours of a 30th anniversary full trailer turn out to be true!!!

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your brother!I know what its like too, I have lost two sisters in the past 10 years and last summer my mother died.the day she called me from the hospital to tell me where she is was august the 8th and now this movie comes out on exactly that date...hmmm...

Wow dude.. I am truly sorry to hear that. Yea i am thankful for this film and the joy that it will bring. I will flip if we get it May 5th as well lol

Then again all those setbacks could all be nothing but a PR ploy just to keep us talking, LOL. I mean the public is more interested in talking about a train wreck rather than something going smoothly, so all my logic could be turned right on its head.

Well, if it's all a PR ploy...it's the best one in the history of films. So it's either that or the train wreck, take your pick

Well.. i think your right. People in the press and folks on the inter webs have been talking about this film since 09. Within the last couple of years the interest has really kicked into high gear and as you all probably have heard the trailer got more views than any other trailer for any film out this year.. 31.4 Million views in its first week. Some say it was people watching the trailer over and over but i tried that and it only counts once by IP address i believe. Even if it was possible that's an INSANE amount of views for one week regardless of what people try to take away from it. And if you can watch a trailer more than once than that goes for all trailers but some will go to the ends of the earth to take away Anything positive in regards to this film. So i agree with you, Either its an unintentional train wreck, or the best PR job in history. I think that the HIGH level of interest will translate into high ticket sales bc when you think about it, most of the people that spend a ton of time blogging and posting on forums and youtube comment columns Facebook pages etc whether its negative or positive have invested so much time and energy and emotion into this film that they will most likely see it. It will be interesting to see what happens after August 8th. I wonder if the next trailer will create even MORE excitement/uproar.. In my eyes its all good

I do like the mood of the lighting and the colors in the trailer, it have a very dark but comic-like feel, almost a hint of Zack Snyder.

The voices of Raph, Don and Mikey sounds pretty good for their character, the other voices we've heard so far... Eh, not really a fan, but I'm sure they'll do.

Creature design aside, they look for the most part well integrated into the scenes, I'm sure it'll be more polished with it comes out, but PD do make good looking moves despite being good or bad. The Nightmare on Elm Street remake was atrocious, but it looked very good.

The look of the Van, the rocket skateboard looks a bit out of place with the overly human-realistic creature designs and the overall grit of the bad guy soldiers looking, almost looks like it's from two different movies.

I am curiosity what the conflict will be and the origin, and if there is more to Shredder then meets the eye, but. I'm not holding my breath.

P.S.... if you see the movie in 3D... there are special glasses coming out

http://i.imgur.com/6xqdX4m.jpg (http://imgur.com/6xqdX4m)

Who will be collecting all 4? :) Heck even if you do not like the movie designs these should appeal to just about every TMNT fan because they are fairly universal looking

Not for me, I can enjoy a movie, bad or good just as well in my living room as in the cinema. And had I still been a student back in the UK where the ticket price is under half of what it's in Norway, I'd might consider watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I did one weekend where nothing happened watch TF3 for a insanely cheap price (cheap for my experience) and I didn't feel too bad spending money on that crapfest.

But. Now I have limited spare time, a HUGE loan to pay off and the majority of my salary goes to rent and bills, which means I have to save chucks of my salary to even manage to pay when the tri-monthly student loan bill arrives, cause it's more the what I have left after rent.

And, I have no interest to watch a bad movie the cinema as it is far more fun to watch it in an environment where you can joke and laugh of the movie with your friends without bothering people that actually likes the moves. If the movie is good, eh, I might see it in theaters. I did see the Imagi flick on its last day, so I was the only one in the entire room.

But 3-D glasses are usually not too pricey, so I might grab a pair.

I like where they are going with the characteristics of each turtle in terms of design but I think it's overkill. It does get me extremely excited for what it could possibly means in terms of fight/action. I think we will appreciate that each turtle fights in their own way according to their personalities though overkilled in the designs.

Leo- most disciplined and follows teachings by the book is in tuned both physically and mentally, his fighting will be the closest thing to a "ninja" graceful and deadly.

Raph- Aggressive just wants to Rip Sh!t up. Mostly trains himself physically and as a result he's jacked, straight up muscle of the team.

Don- all mental hence all the inventive gadgets. I think they are going to go for a batman approach trained fighter assisted with a high tech arsenal. If done right it will be awesome.

Mike- He'll just toy with his opponents.

It would n't be as interesting if the turtles fought the same way just with different weapons. Gives me an impression that they are going to hit on one of my hopes for the movie which is fighting/ action.

At the end of the day I just want a good story which executes the family bonding and fighting of the turtles.

Visually, the movie looks great! If you watch the trailer again but focus on the surroundings instead of the foreground action you notice the beautiful mix of colors and production detail. The way the colors reflect of of the clouds behind Leonardo make it a beautiful shot. In contrast, the snow scenes are desaturated and grey. It's bright but still has a dark mood. It really is a good looking movie visually. I think that after sitting through the movie for a bit, the turtle designs won't stand out as much.

The second trailer is my favorite. I wish they had released that one first. With Splinter's narration being a lesson to the turtles, it actually feels more like a ninja turtles movie than the Sachs narrated one. Also I like how they did some re-edits to make scenes like the humvee crash and Mikey's face reveal shorter and therefore less silly. I know they probably did these edits mostly because it's a 30 second teaser, but the way it was cut just worked better for me.

watching the trailer and the sliding down the snowy hill, part of me wonders how Donatello is sliding so smoothly

it also makes me wonder how it is attached to his shell

i rewinded that scene over and over again, and im not 100% sure that his gear is there during the scene on the mountain. my guess is that it was taken away during the raid in the lair, and he wasn't able to retrieve it before they made their escape from the holding facility in the mountains.

I liked both trailers one from the view point on shredder and the other from splinter, Tony's voice actually sounds really really good to me. Now lets get one from the view point of Leo :)

Edit: I can't help but think splinters bout to whoop some butt, really fluid movement this ain't no old and feeble rat :)

i never thought about it like that...one from Shredder's viewpoint, and the other from Splinter's...i like it that much more now. and the confidence projected in that moment when splinter flourishes that katana, as Shredder comes into frame...oh man...you know, its about to go down.

It's a shame so many people had to get banned, but I was personally tired of being called stupid or seeing people told to "go kill themselves" just because we are looking forward to a movie. Differences of opinion and debates are one thing but some people just take it too far.

One thing I don't like about Shredder so far is that he looks more like a Samurai fighter then a stealthy ninja. Even just looking at the lower half of his body in the TV spot, it looks a bit too much. I'm also not buying Sach's is Shredder just yet.

Otherwise, yeah the turtles look a little weird and it's Megan Fox, but I'll still go check it out with an open mind. It seems like they are hiding something with the story line and like Fichtner said, they changed some of the script mid-shooting. Maybe they took heed to the backlash of "white Shredder". Who knows? Maybe that's just wishful thinking.

I agree with the notion that I don't want them to try and recreate the first film because a new outlook isn't necessarily a bad idea. I just don't want them to completely rape one of my favorite franchises for a quick buck.

There is absolutely something else going on with Shredder that we don't know about. There's no way a 60 year old man can battle THESE turtles without some sort of help. They are hiding something from us. Watch Fichtner turn out to NOT be Shredder or there's some sort of supernatural, extraterrestrial, or superhuman quality to that suit we don't know about yet.

Could be as simple as the Shredder suit is just a exoskeleton, it looks so from the leaked pictures of shredder as the armor arms are just attached over Sachs own arms without any protection or even gloves.

I really hope they don't turn Shredder into Iron Man with some sort of mechanical suit. I just don't see how Sach's puts on some armor and goes toe-to-toe with 8ft turtles who can smash Hummer's and throw people thirty feet in the air. The supernatural strength of the turtles in this will have to be matched by Shredder. I'm thinking Sach's "creates the hero's" and then tries to create Shredder to take them out.

Here's a good example of different tastes in action, because I have the exact opposite response. I think the colouring/design of what we've seen so far is pretty unappealing, honestly - everything's overly filtered and contrasted for the sake of "style", but it just looks overblown and kind of obnoxious to me.

To each their own, of course! I know a lot of people are into that look, and that's totally fine. But I think a little goes a long way, and the footage I saw looks way overdone to me.

And I think thats what everyone fears, but I am confident Nick will do their best. If platinum dunes can't get it done, I guarantee they will find someone who will. This is Nick's action franchise, they will do what they have to to keep the franchise popular in the mainstream.

One thing that surprised me (slightly) about this new incarnation of the Turtles is that they've gone (or appear to have gone) straight for Shredder as the main antagonist / bad guy.

In other superhero franchise reboots they generally seem to start the introductory film off with a lesser villain and introduce the main bad guys later on in the series (I'm really thinking about the new Spider-man - the lizard - and Batman - The Scarecrow - reboots).

So saying that I've always been surprised that a Baxter Stockman story line has never been thrown about as that has all the ingredients you would need - a connection between April, the Turtles and the "bad guy", Splinter involved with the mousers etc and you could link it to Shredder perhaps as funding Stockman or something.

I guess where this is heading is I'd love to see some live-action mousers on screen, I really think Baxter and his mousers could add a lot to a live action movie plot. If this movie is successful and they decide to make more then this is a viable option for a villain I'm sure!

I definitely agree that we're long overdue a movie with Baxter as the villain, and I actually like the idea of starting with him (and introducing April like they did in the comics) before building to the Shredder in the sequel.

At the same time, though, the TMNT rogues' gallery isn't anywhere near as big and strong as Batman or Spider-Man's, so those franchises can get away with saving their biggest gun for the sequel a lot easier than a TMNT movie can. In this case it was probably smart to put their strongest foot forward in the first movie.

(Accidental pun! Oh no!)

Yeah, I'd also love to see Baxter and the mousers on screen. That'd make for some interesting fight sceens. Well, if we do get sequels, I have a feeling Stockman and mousers will show up. Also hoping for Triceratons and some sort of Krang/utrom villain at some point.

Yeah, I'm guessing Shredder was used as the main villain to attract even more movie goers. We'll probably get quite a few great villains if this first film does well. Also hoping to see Rat King before these movies wrap up. He's always creeped me out, but I like that in a villain.

Yeah I know what you're saying, but I do think casual Batman/Spider-man 'fans' etc would view their main nemesis as The Joker and Green Goblin respectively.

I agree that the TMNT enemy roster isn't as large as other franchise's, but it is pretty much untouched when you look at the few films there has been. There's so much potential! As said above, you have the Rat King as well that could be a great story, Leatherhead, Triceratons, The Neutrinos.....even the Punk Frogs....mayyybe!

Either way I'm just glad to have a new live action TMNT...who knows hopefully there will be a few teasers in the film to leave us guessing for a sequel...:D

The 1st trailer came out on March 27th, The week before Captain America The Winter Soldier, and some theaters were showing the teaser in front of the movie. So I'm betting that the 2nd trailer will debut the week before The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and show in front of it, That sequel comes out on May 2nd.

I Guess the rumor was true! A new trailer for the 30th Anniversary! Thanx Jason your 2/0 : ). I hope this trailer shows some NEW footage. Some shots of them Fighting the Foot and Shredder would be nice. I was kind of disappointed at first with the marketing of this film.. But now I think Im actually starting to see a method to the madness. There are still 3 more months till release and rather than spreading things out and allowing the hype to die down, pack things in closer so that its a hard consistent punch. Little by little. Substance/quality not quantity. The first trailer set the internet on fire. Before that was the leaks that did the same. Was it intentional? who knows. But it worked in regards of getting people interested. It feels like we are being spoon fed small but strong amounts. I hope I'm making sense here lol. In the next three months I think we will get longer more revealing trailers leading us right up to release. Along with the merch and product advertising like Pizza Hut, Food commercials etc. Im feeling good about this. Then again I always have.

I'm excited to hear there's another trailer, even if my gut feeling is that this movie will not be my thing. Personally, I'm not into Liebesman and Bay ' s other stuff and am somewhat skeptical of a lot of what we do know. I'm trying to be open minded and keep my expectations low. But that's just me, so if you are excited, don't let me rain on your parade.

I'd like to see more of Don and Raph in this trailer, a look at Splinter ' s face, and the plot hook (beyond just that Sachs/Shredder is claiming to be a good guy and make heroes or something). Something to indicate why we should care about the characters (in particular, our mutant terrapin heroes) or feel suspense related to what happens to them in this universe. We know they're going to go all out for action and effects, but I'm hoping to see what else they're offering.

That's what I thought/worried about also but a friend of mine said something to me that eased my fears a little. We've already had two trailers/teasers with mostly those same shots in both. That and really it would make releasing a new trailer a moot point, Even the second trailer had more scenes and it was only 30 sec compared to the original 1:30 secs

So why put the man hours into making the exact same trailer.

I mean really when you think about it the Teaser and the tv spot were pretty different

So i think you and your friend are correct about having more to work with

'1:29'? Really? I was hoping for an actual theatrical trailer, around two minutes or so. Especially since it's getting closer to the release date.

But oh well. Even though I want to see more from the new film, my 'no-spoiler' conscience is fine with the news of another shorter trailer.

But, time aside, I'm pumped for this trailer! And I'm pumped for Amazing Spider-Man 2! To add to what others have said, I think this trailer will have all new footage. This isn't a TV spot, it's trailer number 2#. May have some similarities and shots, but I feel they'll be giving us something different and new.

That should tell you a lot about just how "confident" TPTB are about the movie. A teaser length trailer for the second trailer? With even the first one at teaser length too?

Hm. Seems like they don't want you to see too much.

I agree to a point...its seems like they want to show enough just to hook you in, but wont reveal too much for fear that it'll ruin the movie going experience. They seem to employ the same strategy when releasing material for Transformers, back by same company and all.

I dont however get how their current releases for the Turtles shows a lack in confidence. Everyone seems to agree that August will be dominated by Guardians of the Galaxy...and for all the arguments about the lack of Turtle marketing...people seem to forget that Guardians (at the time of this writing) only has ONE official trailer out, and character spots, that last only 30 seconds a piece, and just rehash footage from the trailer - yet nobody is saying that Marvel doesn't have faith in this property.

Minus some of the negative fan reaction, I dont think PD, MBay, JLiebsman or anyone else involved has nothing but confidence in their product, and will show things when they are good and ready...and their marketing guys say its time. Shoot with the anniversary just around the corner, who's to say they arent waiting for that, or comic-con.

anyways. rant over.

I think they are scared sh*tless of what bad word of mouth will do and sprout from even casual TMNT fans. Show the bare minimum, just action shots, 3-5 second money shots of various Turtles in action bits, Shredder, Splinter, vague monologue... you'll see. They're scared to death to let the actual story and tone out there right now to maximize that ever important first weekend.

I can't say that has never happened before, but I will say I hope that isn't actually the case here. Again, Marvel only has one trailer out for GOTG, and ppl already predict it'll be the monster hit in August (I'm one of those ppl) - so I don't think lack of footage demonstrates a complete lack of faith, but agree to disagree.

And a little off topic...You mentioned story and tone...I just started reading the IDW comics, and I cannot believe how drastically they changed their origin. I was initially upset, but after allowing myself to settle, I realized they hit all the right notes, kept the same key elements, all while giving the story a new twist...it actually makes me feel better about what changes they might introduce in this new movie-verse.

Hellyeah!!!!! Can't not begin to explain how tortuous the wait is for this movie. Jesus Christ I wish August would get here already. So excited. Hope they surprise us with a movie adaptation from IDW. That would rock so hard. :tgrin::tgrin::tgrin::tgrin::tgrin:Also kinda wish there was a movie game coming. I know movie games aren't the best but to have another TMNT game would be dope. I really Out of the Shadows even though it had flaws. I loved it,it had so much potential. Only if RedFliy had a slightly bigger budget.

I agree. I really don't mind if they make a few changes to the origin as long as it makes sense for the story their trying to tell. I really hope what that one person put up about seeing a test screening was true cause it didn't sound that bad to me. :trazz::trazz::trazz:

I think your right with that last sentence. But it just seems judging by most of your postings on here that you really want this film to do terrible, and there's nothing wrong with that. I strongly disagree with the assumption that they are " scared to death " bc they are not giving to much away. Some would say that they don't really want to see too much and have anything spoiled. Changes and reshoots are a normal thing these days esp. with CGI heavy films. Trailers are really meant to create more questions than answers leaving you wanting to go and have those questions answered. I don't think that this has anything to do with confidence. Its not the first time a film has had its first and second trailers be under 2 minutes.. They are doing a good job keeping people at the edge of their seats with suspense and I think with this next trailer they're going to drop another Bomb on our heads. Just a feeling I have. The first trailer was an absolute success, in terms of creating mass interest. It set the internet on fire and pulled in 31.4 million views in its first week. Last I checked that's more than ANY trailer for any movie out this year. There is obviously a method to their madness and its becoming clear what that method is. Quality over quantity. I suspect that in the next 3 months we will get some full length trailers keeping peoples interest peaked and creating even more questions. Maybe even more controversy if that's even possible lol. 130 million dollars they better be confident in this film lol that's a butt load of money.

Okay, this is the sort of posting that starts fights right here. People who don't agree with you are apparently butthurt, and people who have decided they don't like what they see and don't want to see more are unreasonable for forming an opinion without watching the movie.

Let's pretend for a minute that the turtles were played by four nude men in body paint, the film is a horror comedy, Leo is serial rapist and instead of mutating as a result of ooze, they were magically transformed by eating a cursed tuna sandwich. I'm guessing you wouldn't like that, even if you only knew all this from seeing a short teaser, because it sounds terrible, and even if you haven't seem the entire film, you already know that what you have seen you hate so much that you can't imagine enjoying the film. That's how it feels to me when I see the turtles in hideous character designs, clothes that reduce them to stereotypes, an airhead actress, both major Japanese characters played by white men, and a director with an absolutely abysmal track record. This is not what I want from a Ninja Turtles movie. This is not the new direction I want the franchise to go, because I'll be forced to stop supporting it and stick with only my love of previous TMNT projects. So yeah, I feel fine saying I hope this film does poorly, because it's pretty reasonable to for me to expect that I won't enjoy this film, and I don't want to see more projects like it. It's possible I may eventually watch the film and find out that it was a good movie despite all the things I hate, but they chose to show me what I've seen, and I'm making my decision based on the information available to me. I'm in no way obligated to support this film before making a decision about it, and buying a ticket would be supporting this film.

So can we please stop this childish "butthurt" business?

Yeah I agree looks almost samurai like, 4kids was able to pull it off, but I always prefer the Ninja look.

And I think thats what everyone fears, but I am confident Nick will do their best. If platinum dunes can't get it done, I guarantee they will find someone who will. This is Nick's action franchise, they will do what they have to to keep the franchise popular in the mainstream.

I know Shredder is not really supposed to look stealthy as he is openly the leader and all of the armor gives him away. I just feel like if he had to vanish, he could. In this, the suit almost looks more like one a jostler would wear. Like it would bog him down or something. I haven't seen the finished product yet, so we'll see.

Seriously, its a turtles movie. Are people really expecting a decent well known director and producer other than Bay to jump on board with this franchise? Come on now, I love turtles enough to check this fanboy forum everyday but I'm under no illusion that it appeals to as big an audience as even Transformers, let alone anything like Avengers.

I personally hope that it does do well so it does get more attention and then maybe someone with a bit more public trust will get on board for a sequel. People genuinely hoping it fails or 'bombs' or whatever are just shooting themselves in the foot as it is much more likely it wont get touched again by any studio!

Marvel has had no problems getting people on board to make films about space vikings and talking raccoons, so I don't see why TMNT would be considered such poison that no one besides Bay would touch it. TMNT has every bit as much potential as Iron Man or Spidey, given the right treatment.

That's not even close to true. This franchise has recovered from worse. If TMNT 3, Coming Out of their Shells, and Next Mutation didn't spell the end of the franchise, this film flopping wouldn't either. There's even an extremely popular cartoon currently running, so TMNT would just keep trucking right along, because it's actually a pretty healthy franchise right now without the movie.

I completely agree with this statement. Id actually go a little further. I think TMNT has the potential to be bigger than any film being made right now. With all of the iterations pulling in different audiences/demographics in the last 30 years, all of the passion you've seen on the web in the last 6 years alone.. I think TMNT has HUGE potential to be the next Billion dollar franchise. Whether or not we actually get that with this film is yet to be seen.

A movie flop wont doom the franchise, but who wants to wait another 7-15 YEARS for another TMNT movie? I hope this movie is successful so it can crank out a trilogy over the next 6 years. A couple years after that another reboot and maybe that series can meet all of the 2014 movie doubters contradiction checklist. An scenario like the spiderman/ batman trilogy that was successful and then followed up shortly by another reboot.

First of all, 7 years is a reasonable estimate, but 15? Come on, this movie could make negative money and it wouldn't be more than a decade before a reboot comes along, let alone 15 years.

And if this movie spawns a trilogy, I'm going to be waiting at least 12-15 years before the release a TMNT movie I care to see comes out. I'd much rather it tank and I wait for a reboot.

7 is reasonable, but there is precedence set for ever shorter time frames than that. Spiderman 3 released in 2007, with The Amazing Spiderman following in 2012. Just five short years, which honestly felt too soon to me, but it was hugely successful so what do I know.

Considering the buzz surrounding this new Turtle film, I wouldn't be surprised if they optioned a sequel for the following year - to capitalize on the popularity of the property with the general population.

Not really, when I make statements I try to be as rational as possible with as much facts as possible. the last movie of the trilogy was released in 93 I believe and the next one after that was in 07 apprx. 14 years. I referenced spiderman because the trilogy ended in 2007 and I think the next reboot started in 2012 apprx 6 years.

Can't wait for the new Trailer. This is gonna be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year and I'm so glad TMNT getting back mainstream attention!

Just a few days ago, I overheard some guys at the counter talking about the first trailer and how excited they were (even though it was kind obvious they weren't huge Turtles fans, they couldn't even get the names right!)

heres the thing...people follow trends. we all know this. we, on these forums, are the exceptions, because we are diehards that LOVE this property regardless of its standing with the general populace.

when superman was hot, every dude was rocking the S on their chest. when batman was hot, the same thing, with the bat symbol. its trendy to be 'retro' so everyone is wearing the turtles on their screen printed tees. even OLD NAVY is selling Turtle tees, which cracks me up. I buy them so Im not complaining, I just think its funny.

my point is...i think this trend is gonna help in a MAJOR way, carry this film to success. suddenly EVERYONE is saying, "oh yeah, i love the turtles since I was a kid" meanwhile, like you were describing, they cant even get their names right, lol. I hear people at work talking about it, and even the kids in my church chatting about it, and as a LONGTIME fan, it makes me happy to see how much the Turtles are coming back into the mainstream pop culture, they never really left, but if we're honest, they are more popular now than they ever have been since the 90s.

The problem with using the gap between TMNT 3 and the 2007 CGI film as a reference is that TMNT was really struggling as a franchise at that point. There was failed project after failed project, and even when they managed to make a cartoon that was high-quality and started to revive the franchise, the show quickly ran out of ideas, resulting in the extremely unpopular Fast Forward and failed attempt to recover from that fumble, Back to the Sewers. But now the same audience that grew up watching the old turtles cartoon are seeing comic book movies come back in a huge way thanks to Marvel. Where in the 90s comic book movies were approached with an attitude of just hoping the film makes money, now trilogies are planned before the first movie even starts filming. Even this film is signing people on to 3 picture contracts, because they're completely prepared for this to make a ton of money. I wouldn't be surprised if they have outlines for two more films already written. Comic book franchises are big business, and as long as a film makes money, there will be more to come. At this point, failure only means the next film will be a reboot instead of a sequel and add about 3 years of waiting. When you consider that Nick revived the franchise for a new generation, we could expect them to take another shot as soon as possible even if the film does terrible.

I can root against the film because as far as I've seen, this film isn't treating TMNT with the respect and care it deserves. If this movie is a bad representation of a franchise I love, then I don't want the people behind it given the chance to make more. I would rather just wait for someone else to give it a shot, who will learn from the mistakes of this film. I want to see a good Ninja Turtles movie, and this project is standing in the way. The sooner we're rid of it, the sooner we move on to something that wasn't written by people who thought we would all love the idea of the Turtles being aliens.

The original movie open up 25Mill and ended up breaking records for an independent film(130Mill US), the 2007 movie opened up a 24Mill and then dropped off drastically making only apprx. 54Mill (us). Each film since the original has declined in sales and to your point if it doesn't make money (flops) they wont make films. 07 had the potential but because of a uninspired plot people other than turtle fans didn't really see it. Nick sees the potential that's why they bought the franchise, this is nick's shot. TMNT stops making money TMNT will get dumped. Remember history tells us turtlemania can only last but so long failed project after failed project the turtles will go on hiatus again. We need success on all levels (cartoon, comics, movies) for it to stay relevant.

Movies are always approached with the attitude of making money that's the whole point of making movies.

I agree there are alot of scary ideas, designs, and things being thrown around but it's no different that any other version. Come on just think about it from the original comic to the OT.. Change of origin (shredder created splinter and the turtles in OT), "race bending", asian shredder no accent, New characters (krang, BB&RS), foot soldiers, april.. everything changed but why is that acceptable then but not now?

Curious to see if they keep Mikey's face out of the new trailer. In the TV clip with Splinter, they cut away from him the very second his undoes his bandana and went right to the shot of April fainting.

the turtles will go on hiatus again.

actually the Turtles have never officially been on Hiatus since its debut in comics...they have always had some kind of media element unlike other franchises, dare i say even transformers, TMNT has always been in the public eye as some sort of story whether is be TV,video specials, comics, or movies

One movie flop wont kill it, it has a high ranking TV show, a great selling toy line and a very popular comic, sure if it flops we have to wait a while a few years even just using the gap between the 07 flick and this is just 8 years, and that one was meant to have a sequel that never came for other reasons

and i agree with Major, im sorry to sound negative but i really hope this movie doesn't make it past the 1 film so we get a better show at the turtles on the big screen

just because this is the "first" movie on the big screen in 8 years, doesnt mean we should settle for crap

I don't think it will kill it but the debate was whether or not another reboot would happen anytime soon if the movie does flop. yup sounds like the early 90s and then from 97 to 03 there was nothing mainstream until 4kids. I dont know about you but I dont plan on living forever so I'd like for my turtles to remain relevant while im still here on earth.

lol 8 years isn't a long time to you?

I respect your opinion, but why rob yourself of the experience? well everyone on this board is going to see the movie but what happens if it turns out good?

I have a bad feeling that shedder suit is going to be more mech than ninja which scares me. I hope this Eric Sachs character has some kind of backround in martial arts.

Which would be a shame. Yeah, the blades and such can be intimidating but they found the perfect balance of it in 1990. Just enough to be used as armor..not enough to weigh him down in the heat of battle. Either way, it wasn't the blades that scared the turtles, they pretty much laughed at him when they saw him drop in..it was the realization that this Shredder guy can put up a fight which went from a goofy confrontation into a battle for their lives.

My question is what about the Millions of fans that ARE crazy excited to see this? Should we cancel a movie bc a fraction of the fandom doesn't like the film? and ruin it for others ? Imo that will always be an issue bc there will always be people that don't like the direction of a movie " ESP>TMNT " and they're not wrong for that, at all! But neither are the ones that are really Happy with it. You cant make everyone happy. Some may love the film and think its the best TMNT film ever made and some fans will hate it. If this movie flops financially it will be bc it was poorly done. I also read an interview with either Bay or Liebesman where they were asked about why the Shredder race change and he said something along the lines of " We didn't want to upset anyone" and then laughed, then explained that films have been banned in Asia for portraying Asian people in a bad light " making the bad guy in the film Asian " and that Asia is one of the biggest markets for the U.S film industry. So I guess they were damned if they did and damned if they didn't. I hope that this next trailer will help bring some of the skeptical ones around though, and if it doesn't? its unfortunate but what can you do. You cant cancel it. If a film maker listened to every complaint the film would never be released. I didn't like the fact that they cast Fox as April. I would have loved to see Minka Kelly or Anna Kendric. But Fox most Def. wont ruin the movie for me. I almost feel kind of bad that there are people that wont be able to enjoy this as much as others.. and I don't mean that sarcastically at all! I really do wish it was a movie that everyone could be excited about.. Unfortunately I don't think that will ever be possible : /

How about showing the Turtles using their Martial Arts fighting in a trailer? In a film called Ninja Turtles, I would think that would be a no brainer to show in a trailer...and if Raph is supposedly the 'main Turtle of the movie', they're sure not making it seem like it so far in the marketing...

Warhorse
04-24-2014, 03:39 PM

Well, there may have been one GOTG trailer, but at least that one trailer actually shows all of the stars of the movie, and even gives some tidbits, and we even get hints of their characters, all in a 90 second trailer. We are going on to the second trailer, and a TV spot, and we haven't been even given a proper introduction to all of the Turtles. That's sad.

Same here. I wouldn't want to be stuck with these awful designs for the next 7 years. Hope this is like the Next Mutation. Keep the cool stuff, like Raph's bike, but ditch everything else, like Venus. Only in case of the movie, maybe some action scenes showing some brute strength from Raph would be cool, but the fish lips and pig noses will only be seen in this movie.

Your no doubt a fan, but how can you root against something you love? Not sure how old you are but do you remember when the turtles were dormant? during that time my turtles fix can from going on ninja turtles website that look like a high school kid design looking for updates on fan art sent in by fans. I like my turtles to be relevant.

by the way Whats your favorite version of the turtles?

Depends on what's being done to the thing I love. I love horses, but protest like crazy against horse racing because I think it's cruel to them. I love my TMNT, but I am going to root against something that I find is bastardizing them.

I hope the movie does alright at the box office, maybe just not enough to recoup it's budget back, and I hope people who aren't happy with it write and email letters to Nick and let them know what was screwed up. But chances are, they won't listen. Has Nick had any decent live action movies come from their cartoon lineups? After Avatar and Dragon Ball Z, and if TMNT follows suit, perhaps they should consider finding another ceo to be in charge of the movie house.

that films have been banned in Asia for portraying Asian people in a bad light " making the bad guy in the film Asian

ok no offense but your post was a little hard to read..but this one line stood out

here is the thing.."Bad light" does not mean "Bad guy" or "Villain"

when a film is banned in another country for showing that race in a bad light it almost always means that it is making fun of that race,I.E portrayed as drug dealers, rapists, ETC

the Shredder or Oroku Saki is not portraying a japanese actor in bad light

Bay and Co are just covering their a$$es because they know they write stereotypical characters had a asain be cast it would not surprise me if it was another "Deep Wang" played by the same actor (and i like the guy in the right roles)

would not surprise me one bit if the turtles are over stereotypical characters

After Avatar and Dragon Ball Z, and if TMNT follows suit, perhaps they should consider finding another ceo to be in charge of the movie house.

honestly i would be all four that, and its not that farfetched, the same thing happened with the Muppets..the original ceo in charge didnt care so from 2004-2010 nothing really happened till someone else was put in charge, who not only actually cared about the franchise but actually made things happen

im not trying to start a fight, nor even single you out - honestly - i've simply based my comment on the fact that people have made large assumptions based on very little content.

feel free to voice your opinion, as i have done mine. if you say their isnt any indication that Vernon and April are the stars, and will have more screen time than the turtles...then I will say, based on this image, that is too much of an assumption, especially seeing as all the action scenes we've seen so far, however brief, have been of the turtles.

I really don't think the casting of a white shredder has anything to do with race, as many people say. I think the main reason is just that there are a hell of a lot more well known white actors then asian actors, and big names mean more money. If there were a ton of well known asian actors, then the shredder probably would be portrayed by an asian actor. Sure, they could have an asian actor, but this movie is trying to play it as safe as possible, so they want a relatively well known actor for shredder, and picking on the same race as the original character isn't their primary concern. Also, no one complained about Avery as shredder, and he was probably cast for the exact same reasons.

However, in all honesty, the TMNT trailer and the GOTG trailer are very different because they had to achieve very different things. For GOTG, they had to introduce the masses to who exactly these characters are, what this movie is about, because NO ONE knows them (yes, I know this is an exaggeration, but you know what I'm saying). And for TMNT, a whole bunch of people know about the franchise. They really didn't NEED to introduce the character, we know who the turtles are. GOTG had the job of introducing their movie, the feel, and the characters, and that's what they did. The TMNT trailer was more to get people aware of the upcoming movie and excite them.

Either way, Bay and Liebesman's reasoning for not choosing an Asian actor is flawed, as it's not just the villain that would be Japanese, but the hero too. It seems that they're just trying to shake everything up enough to cause controversy whilst aiming to leave their own mark on the franchise. Despite my dislike for the Transformer films, you can't deny they've had a wealth of success.

This Shredder isn't asian, because they just didn't care to make him asian. I might buy the, "There are more bankable white actors" thing if they hired someone very famous. There's certainly Japanese influences in this movie. There's some kind of history. But Fichtner must just work with the story they're telling.

We already know that April and Vernon spend a lot of screen time with the turtles and action scenes. Even the early set photos show that. So I don't think a photo of Vernon and April walking away from some beat up foot soldiers tells us anything new. People who think April and Vernon are the stars already thought this before seeing this photo and I don't think this photo is any major spoiler. Certainly doesn't answer any questions either way. Also I know April and Casey were pretty much the stars of the Blue Door script, but those characters were also a HUGE part of the first movie. I'm thinking this film will play out similar to the first with the turtles fighting bad guys and a couple human characters along for the ride. Could be wrong though

The real reason Shredder is white in this is because do to the steep budget, paramount is banking on the overseas market (China really) for a large sum of the profits. They are worried that China isn't going to respond well to an Asian villain. Not saying that's the way it SHOULD be. Just saying that's their logic. The only way to do a true to source turtles movie is to make it cheap and low budget. That way you aren't banking over 50% of your grosses on an audience that might never have heard of TMNT. This worked back in the 90s when average movie budget was way under 50 mil, but now, they need that overseas money to break even. I'm excited to see this movie, but I'm also excited for other doors it might open for the turtles. I want to see a traditionally animated film version of the first two volumes of the original comic book series.

Its hard to tell, But you can see that the shot appears to be broad daylight, If it were in the Subway, It would look dark.

Sai are usually the length of a person's forearm. Those are not that big actually.

You just proved my point if this movie flops (failed project) you wont see another movie anytime soon.

I never said we would get a reboot soon. I said if this movie were to fail, we would get a reboot sooner than we would if this movie spawned sequels. And Nick isn't going to ignore an incredibly successful cartoon and ignore a property because their attempt at a film didn't work. Again, the previous movie gap was during a time where pretty much everything TMNT-related was tanking hard, with the exception of one cartoon project that dipped in quality before it could revive the franchise. If this movie flops (something I've never even claimed is going to happen, BTW) it just means Nick focuses all their attention on the cartoon for a while before thinking about making another movie.

This question doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I like plenty of versions of the Ninja Turtles, but that doesn't mean that I approve of 100% of the decisions that went into them. The pros outweigh the cons quite heavily in most cases. This version, however, is getting practically nothing right, and so I can't support it. It's not that they dare change the turtles that bothers me, it's that they've chosen terrible changes.

http://www.dailynews.com/arts-and-entertainment/20140424/will-arnett-makes-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-reboot-a-family-affair

There's a little interview with Will arnett about the movie.
“The Turtles were kind of dormant in the popular culture for a while, but then a few years ago, when Nickelodeon unveiled the animated series, my two young sons started watching and became increasingly pro-Turtle by the day,” says Arnett, who turns 44 on May 4. “By the time the movie came around for me, I was kind of immersed in it.”

Arnett got huge Dad props by taking his boys, now ages 3 and 5, to the New York sets while the movie was being shot last year. He plays TV cameraman Vernon Fenwick, who helps Raphael, Michelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello and reporter April O’Neil (Megan Fox) fight the evil Shredder (William Fichtner) and his minions in the Michael Bay-produced adventure.

“They always wanted to see Shredder, all the different characters,” he recalls. “They’d come and they’d watch rehearsals, especially when we were doing big action scenes. It was cool to share that experience with them.

“It was one of those weird, personal life converging with professional life things in a very organic way, which was kind of similar to my experience on ‘The Lego Movie’ as well,” Arnett happily acknowledges. “But now I’m gonna have to start thinking of some new, big, follow-up tricks, y’know? I think I’m just gonna let their interests dictate what kinds of parts I do from now on.”

I feel the exact same way. Im hoping we get a MASSIVE trilogy in the next 6 years : )

You sir sre awesome. :tcool::tcool::tcool:
Thank you dude! You are too!! I hope you loved the page. PM me your thoughts ok
Give me some dark yet upbeat music and a shot of Shredder and I'll be a happy camper no matter what else is in it.

i doubt it will change minds...the truth of the matter is, first impressions are left ingrained in everyone's mind, and if they dont like what they've seen by now, chances are, seeing more wont change their mind.

my hope is that this new trailer will continue to build on the hype still floating around - all i know is that im excited, and for the few of us on these boards looking forward to this film, it is an exciting time.

for those who arent...its just another day.
Agreed dude. Im pretty confident that this next trailer will DEF. add to the hype surrounding this film already. I cant wait for that moment! The second the trailer gets released its like pandemonium lol.

I agree with you Seth. I know I read it somewhere from Either Bay or Liebesman that they were worried about offending people. That it has happened with certain films. I think maybe Iron man and some other Superhero film, I could be wrong ill have to check and find the Article. I would have liked to see Saki but who knows if we will or not. Maybe there will be a plot twist. I do know that Fitchner is one of my all time favorite actors and I think he will do a great job playing this villain.

Goodness. It drives me crazy when sites like this misrepresent still images, or even pieces of footage, contributing to the confusion factor already surrounding this film. I wanna laugh it off, but I LOVE THE TURTLES, like everybody here, and I smh every time I hear somebody talking Turtles, and getting everything wrong...some guy I came across last weekend told me he thought their was gonna be a girl turtle that once he described the story he heard, it was the storyline for the live action next mutation show. I felt compelled to educate him so he knew what he was getting into with this new film and not be completely misinformed.
