I was talking about the lair shot with April in the lair with all the NINJA weapons on the table you know the ones they supposedly wont be using in the movie.


And as i have said before had April been cast as anyone other then Megan this would not be a complaint. but because its Megan these dont count as appropriate marketing stills Just remember this Sam rock well was and "official" movie still for the original movie yup and Danny, and April, and Casey,



Thats 18 different marketing releases a couple more if you count the Booklet they handed out the 3d glasses info released, the Movie theater toppers

If this movie disappoints you in possible every way will you actually post that it did?

In fact, marketing has been so weak for this thing that it's actually starting to dwindle my excitement. Not just from the lack of new footage, but because the lack of marketing makes me question the studio's confidence in their product.

I'm still keeping the faith and hope to be completely blown away by the possible longer more detailed trailer but if the next trailer is exactly the same scenes with a few seconds it might just kill off some of my excitement

its not the actress behind april i have the issue with, i have an issue with the a movie called "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" focusing on its human actress

i had an issue with shia being the focus of transformers..and he is so not my type, cute dude but not my cup of tea

as for 1990 film, wrong many stills showed the turtles and splinter...also back then stills where not released like they are today

I'm with you Boston and if I were in the big chair calling the shots I would be putting out trailers left and right even if the trailers consisted of nothing but deleted scenes. I would have dropped this trailer on the Super Bowl. I still feel like I haven't seen anything about this movie yet just a bunch of toys and mere seconds.

I'm still in middle of the road but I'm leaning to the positive but they could release the next trailer and I could absolutely hate it.

the issue sam is that this movie shouldn't be treated with a passing oh will be do fine...you keep ignoring the FACT that Guardians of the Galaxy comes out at the exact same time

and expendables 3 right after...and yes expendables could easily over power turtles

you know what i will say say it..we should be saturated in turtles stuff because they want people to go see it in favor of GOTG

not hiding behind the same picture edited over and over

no one is questioning the amount of stuff sam just is quality and its focus

i personally havent seen it yet so i can give a 100% answer but from everything i have heard no, Godzilla actually keeps true to all past godzilla films (aside from 1998 but i dont count that one)

Godzilla always had major human presence most of the time either preparing or in need of the King of Kaiju. only for Godzilla to show up at the end when needed

It's the same thing I've been telling people that have been complaining about Godzilla not having enough monster fighting. If you want that sort of thing, watch Pacific Rim, but Godzilla is and always has been (the good movies anyway) about human-based plots that provide dramatic buildup to a relatively small amount of onscreen monster fights.

You know what I have this debate before, Oh yup turtle should have started Marketing a year before release, then they should have told the whole plot up word for word, they should release so much stuff that people start to ignore it, then they should release half assed half done CGI, to the point that when the movie come out there is no mystery, Oh


Truth is I said they March we would get something at least a trailer people said nope they wouldn't do that nope they dont care enough to release anything WELL GUESS WHAT they did, i wont even get in to the over reacting and outrageous claims made about the movie Based on nothing except "the people working on this movie a stupid"

Then they have Steadily released photo posters and even trailers for the past two months only to start Amping up marketing in JUNE a good TWO MONTHS from release, Magazine article, Movie section in a major TMNT book, A new trailer, Continued photo released How is that "lazy" or "lack" of marketing its not.

and quality does not mean half assed CGI it just means give the movies focus its due credit...you claim the the turtles will not be playing second fiddle to Fox they show me, prove it, give me something to ease my worry

The marketing has been terrible and this goes to show you that merchandise shouldn't be the first impression that we are given nor should we have to settle for seeing just The human element of the film. It's like yeah cool she's wearing a yellow coat and added red to her hair but they shouldn't treat the turtles, Splinter or Shredder like Bigfoot.

The turtle poster of Leo's silhouette is a lot more boring next to those. The X-Men and Transformers posters are some nice propaganda themed posters, especially the vintage look of the X-Men ones, like the posters of yore back in WWII and Red Scare posters. And the Wolverine ones are beautiful ink brush themed, like old Japanese artworks inspired.

It's be pretty snazzy if they did something similar with the Turtles, like a calligraphy looking poster of Leonardo as he swings his sword, and the ink lines is drawn in a manner to indicate speed of movement. And it's all in black inks on a white background except for his bandanna that is painted in blue. And so on with the rest of the turtles, could do some pretty cool brush works with Mikey swinging his Nunchaku.

Gotta love the original trailer which teased the look of the turtles for a few seconds then delivered the goods. Those Days of Future Past posters were before we'd had a look at anything. They were part of last year's viral marketing before main marketing started. We hadn't even seen the Sentinels, just a head at comic con.

The cap poster shows cap pretty clearly.

These others also have a little bit of a different background. We've already seen Optimus Prime, Captain America (twice), Wolverine (4.125 times (the decimal being First Class)).

Spidey is the only one that ASM2 was the first look at him update from the ASM costume.

Going out on a limb, but I think the people who aren't sold on the film want to see more, hoping for something to change their mind. The people who are in love with everything related to the film are more than content.

I think when they pump out trailer after trailer it makes them look desperate. Maybe they are confident that the film will do just as well as other Bay films and that they don't need to put out 5 or six trailers for it. 3 of those actually show anything of the title characters, though. Keep in mind some people are worried this will be heavily an "Adventures of April O'Neil" with less focus on turtles, as Transformers has done. Imagine Winter Soldier if most of the marketing was focused on Falcon. Could be the case, could not be the case.

I know you and I disagree on this point, but I still feel they should have done the shadow and name posters well before the trailer to tease and build anticipation myself.

I don't think we'll see anything too big at SDCC like you'd suggested earlier, Sam, though at the time I agreed with you. That's way too close to release. I thought Comic Con was normally sooner, like June-ish, but it's late July this year. Can't see them doing anything TOO big for Comic-con attendees only 2-3 weeks before release.

They will do SOMETHING at Comic-Con, I'm sure. I just don't see it being something too big due to the way timing works with the convention schedule this year.

Seriously, I could have sworn Comic-Con was sooner than late July, but maybe I'm mixing it up with E3.

Is my dislike for the designs of the turtles because of the over accessorized costumes....or the design of the turtles themselves. so i drew up a sketch of Raph in my personal style and gave him the outfit of the movie Raph (minus the Oakleys....they are just TOO MUCH douche for me). I was going to draw a "classic" Raph but when that new digital drawing scans were posted, i just decided to do a super quick edit of that image.

I just got a tablet for my birthday, so i'm still figuring out the ins ad outs of it while using photoshop, so excuse the sloppiness.

Tattooed Mike is just proves how of the wall (if not to say stupid) the whole thing is. I bet he will have a stereotypical voice.

We've already heard his voice in the trailer and it's actually one of the things most seem to like, he sounds pretty Mikey'ish! (I'm not a fan of the tattoos either, tho)

For me, the accessories are less annoying than the design of the Raph himself. Your more traditional Raph in movie gear doesn't look so bad (still don't like the full head bandanna personally but can deal with it; it's not exactly new and was even in a Mirage issue). But then, Raph is also the minimalist/closest to traditional in outfit.

Like someone else said, I can accept the new accessories. I could accept the new look. I could accept Eric Sachs. I could accept various changes. But when you want me to accept ALL OF THEM AT ONCE it's a tough pill to swallow.

I was pretty sure everyone could tell the "prison tat" thing was a joke. Obviously they don't have the materials in there to make something like that. And that's even worse. Forget the TMNT designs, that's irrelevant. That tattoo is a piece of sh*t, the fact it's a TMNT-based piece of sh*t isn't the point. That person is definitely going to spend a lot of money getting it "fixed" later on. Not if the movie is good or bad. More like, as soon as reality sets in, they sober up, whatever. It's just poorly done.

As far as cost/pain factor, how big it is, how long you're getting worked on, and where it is are all factors. At a minimum, most places charge roughly $100 an hour, so it definitely isn't a cheap hobby. That's why I only have three when there are about 5 or 6 more I want to get. The two that only took an hour and a half to do didn't hurt or bleed much at all, the first one on my right biceps and the third one on my right triceps. The second one, the Guns N Roses tat on my left shoulder, took one four-hour shot, bled a ton, and really stung in one tiny spot where the skin was really thin. By the time they got to the coloring, the outline was turning to scar tissue, so around the time they started coloring some spots felt like a bad sunburn.

But cost is definitely more an inhibiting factor than pain. Who's got a few hundred bucks just laying around? You gotta plan and save up for that sh*t. Which I hate; some days I pass a shop and wanna just pop in and get something done, then I remember I have an overdue bill. :ohwell: But they don't hurt. I've seen people wiggle and squirm in the chair, too; they're called pussies. I could see someone on their 4th or 5th straight hour in the chair getting a little fed up with it, but that's why most people get very big pieces done on more than one day, anyway. Something on your arm doesn't hurt. Everyone should get one.

If anything, the problem with tattoos is wanting to go back and get more right away.

Indeed, 2k3 Splinter popped in to my head right away when I saw that, it really looks like he just stepped out from the cartoon in to real life! We still haven't gotten a good look at Splinters final design yet, so it's hard to say if he'll look like that only with the extra hair or if they did more alterations... but I shall admit a part of me is disappointed that what we're seeing in the book isn't the final form. Tho I can also understand the creative team not just wanting simply 2k3 Splinter in the movie.

The ribs....man that is brutal! It's just skin and bone once you stretch the skin, for the most part. I tattooed on a 400lb fat dude, and once i got him on the table and stretched out, even he had to tap out. And i'm light handed!

I've heard it's all about placement. Closer to the bone areas hurt worse than large fleshy areas....or that how I think it works.

Also heard price depends on coloring and size: the more colorful and brightly colored a tattoo, as well as how big it is can make it cost a pretty penny.

You're 100% right. How much it hurts is based of the placement...and personal pain tolerance. I'm pretty much covered in tattoos, so i can speak from professional and personal experience. The closer to the bone you have to tattoo, the more it hurts. My pinky was the worst pain I've ever felt. Most fleshy areas don't hurt as much, save for the armpits and behind the knees. I've seen grown men cry getting tattooed behind their knees.

as far as pricing goes, Leo is right on the money, no pun intended. The more intricate and detailed a tattoo, the more it costs, as well as the size and placement on the body. at a certain point, if the piece is large enough, we charge by the hour. $100 an hour is pretty standard, unless you're dealing with some one who's highly regarded in the tattoo community. Then prices can shoot up to $200, $250 or more! :teek:

He's huge, and he...I don't know how he's going to move around in that thing, so it leads to the question ... how will this new Shredder be portrayed? I don't know if I'm going to like the answer.

Lets be honest though - none of the intended audience will care.
It's so wrong, it's laughable, the anatomy's just wrong, and no one will care.

This is the summer movie people will smoke up to watch.
They'll laugh, reminisce , and never give it a second thought past the two hours they were in the theater.

Totally out of left field here but I remember everyone making a big stink over Raph flying into the hummer in the trailer and it showing him damaging the hummer and pieces flying everywhere. So right now Im watching the first episode of the 2012 TMNT and I noticed that Raph gets throw off a vehicle and slams into a brick walled building ans when he hits, shell first, it cracks and damages the wall badly... just thought it was funny, that is all.

Well because shells are hard. Thrown with force, it's like a canon ball. Basic physics. Now, the movie turtles? Raph in particularly is like 6'5 to 6'8 and is super brawny. Of course he'd damage a parked car, flying down a moutain, catapulting himself into it. It's no big deal. And it looks bad ass. The turtles have always found ways to use their humanoid turtle shape, and physicality as weapons or protection.

The actor? Yea. But he's being portrayed on screen larger than that. Raph is the biggest turtle in the movie. Look how big the shortest one, Mikey, is in the trailer compared to what? 5'6 Megan Fox? He's the shortest and he towers over her. He has to be about 6'2 at least. Very compact and muscular too. Now, Raph is by far the largest. I think he's just slightly shorter than the tall, lean Don, but physically is the most imposing due to his size.

And as a fair warning to all who suddenly wants to try it out. Never throw a turtle, don't drop a turtle from any heights. Turtle shells might be hard, but you'd be surprised how easy it can crack when accidents happen. Cracked shell can be fatal.
