I still don't understand what they did with Dregg, especially since they showed him eating worms as well as trying to eat Don in the very same episode.
I thought at the end of the episode they would show a scene of the villain like they usually do with past episodes, but no, the ep ended and we didn't see what became of him. |

I felt they struck a perfect balance with Mikey in "Revenge of the Triceratons." And he was the only positive note in yesterday's episode for me. |

Man...Casey is getting on my nerves so darn bad. I was glad when Raph got after him when he was about to say "that is so metal!". Ugh! Enough with the "that is so metal" saying! The kid looks like he would believe 30 Seconds To Mars was "metal".
I also feel like Donatello is clearly the weakest turtle of the four. He is usually the first to get injured. It seemed like in the earlier seasons he was a much more competent fighter than he is now. And like everyone else, I am very confused about Dregg's robot head. Why would he eat worms and try to eat Don if he is a robot? Full body shots of Dregg have shown that he is somewhat transparent since you can see that there are "anomalies" floating around inside him. :ohwell: |

It's just- well this season anyway- seems to toss him about. Like, he says one line then disappears somewhere else. I don't know...it just feels like a select few number of writers really know what to do with him. Like Peter...he writes him well. Some others-? It just feels like he's there for comic relief by means of getting nearly killed somehow:trolleye: In fact, while this ep did give me quite a few laughs...it feels like there should be more background action going on. For instance, while a character's going on and on about something...we should see some characters interacting in the background. That way it doesn't feel...dry. But what do I know?? Overall, though...it was a decent ep. I guess Mona and Raph- in this show- don't click for me. I like Mona...but there was just something about them together- or maybe it was just Raph- that wouldn't...work. I was talking with my bro and he thought it would've been neat if they had this tension between each other and Raph just...really admired her fighting and whatnot... Maybe if they didn't kick it off right from the start with them kissing and all that and then in this episode had them starting to like each other-?? Who knows. It was awful or anything. But it didn't feel natural either. :ohwell: And Casey was god awful. Sorry, but it's like he's either good or he's terribly obnoxious. I know he's supposed to be a seventeen year old boy and all but- god- he's getting bothersome. Real downgrade in his character from last episode. Otherwise, the animation was splendid! April, as usual, was pretty awesome with her powers and...ugh, poor Don...he tries his best but, man, do these writers like him as the butt of a joke. Overall 6/10 for this one. By the way, did anyone find out yet what Dregg being a robot was?? Was it explained? |
Dreg's conversation with Mona and Sal Commander. He's an evil ganglord, what do they expect?
|
Maybe it was a decoy, maybe that is what the creators want. Armaggon was swallowed by that beast, so maybe Dregg thought he was outnumbered and left that decoy to buy him time to escape.
And, maybe he'll come back in season 5 when he flies his ship to earth for revenge. The turtles will be surprised that he hound his way to their earth. |

Yeah, I wasn't sure if I missed something or if it just hasn't been explained yet. Thank you, though. That's a really good theory:tthumbsu: |

But yeah, for a race that is weary of those out side their kind, they seem to think everyone has some form of honor to them, until proven otherwise. Such as their attempt to work with the Kraang and believe Dregg keeping his word. They seem to be learning the hard way. |

I still feel that it was Fugitoid with his fusion cannon that made Dregg a bit nervous, and made him decide it was not worth it going after them risking himself. I just can't believe Dregg himself is a robot, considering how he tried to eat Donatello, ate some other stuff, and other things we've seen with his body like transparancy or those little "worms" going through it. It just can't be possible there's a robot skeleton underneath his skin and yet still being able to do all those things.. If the real Dregg did stay behind he might have freed Armaggon, who knows. |

I believe it's likely we are to see Armaggon again later on. With or without Dregg. |
Come to think of it Dregg was kinda out of character in this episode, "Go, Dregg go?!" so maybe it was a fake robot version of him?
Or maybe the one at the beginning of the ep was real but the one who chased the Turtles on the back of that giant bug at the end was a robot? |

A good example of this is in the third season of Yu Yu Hakusho was when Kuwabara, the only real human of the four spirit detectives loses his Spiritual Awareness for a good chunk of the season. Because of this the other Spirit Detectives sort of relegate him to the Non-fighters. Until their teacher Genkai tells them that Kuwabara's powers didn't go away, it had gone into a dormant state to prepare for the abilities that were just beginning to awaken in him. With Don, I think this change would be of a more of personal nature in this case. While Don is considered the least violent of the four of them. He is stronger in other areas where his brothers are not, and at times has used reason and diplomacy to solve an issue rather than brute force. Such as time they were fighting Big Foot, only to realize she was attacking them because she was scared. But at the same time, there are also moments where it seems he's holding himself back. In a podcast I was recording with SSJup, we were discussing Donnie's that point and we described it as being similar to Mikey. Mikey's problem is that he has more raw talent than all three of his brothers combined but can never reach his full potential because he doesn't focus. Donnie's problem is similar in scope. But he's holding an aspect of himself back because he is afraid that the others would either think less if not outright reject him as part of their team because of it. But he's not effective as a fighter because he is denying a part of himself that is becoming more and more imperative as things progress. Leo did bluff for Don's absence when Dregg had noticed he had only three of the Turtles, not four of them. And Mona also had chosen to keep silent about the fact that Don and April had returned to the ship with the Fugitoid. After all, both Sal Commander and Monalisa had betrayed the Turtles to save their home world. She easily could have informed Dregg of this when she believed Salamandria was at stake. |
This episode...
This episode was horrible. I'm sorry. Casey was so idiotic and annoying - it's not funny. There was gross-out humor almost everywhere. Ramona was absolutely unbearable for me. And to top it all off, Dregg was a robot... I just... can't anymore... http://i.imgur.com/hbNJ6C0.png |
This episode was rather confusing as others have stated but it was probably one of my favorites this season.
It was so visually stunning.:teek: |
Great ep! I loved it, think I'm gonna watch it again just about now :P

Pretty strong episode, been a while since I've been left wondering what happens next.
Not sure how Raph can forgive such a betrayal that quickly, even if what they did was out of desperation to save their own world. Refreshing to see him just go berserk like that though. Yes, Casey, you can stop with the "metal" thing now. (Just like Mikey can stop with that screaming he does in some episodes.) |
