Yeah, a few more. Dirk Savage Mutant Hunter is one, and then there's another with his name in the title I think.

I believe there's only the 2 episodes which is odd considering he lives right next to them in the sewers lol:lol:

I know, it's almost like Alfred having only a few cameos in a Batman toon.

CyberCubed 08-09-2007 10:53 PM

I have another question, did Mondo Gecko show up in the cartoon or Archie comics first? Which medium did he originate from?

ToTheNines 08-09-2007 10:53 PM

OT, I think.

VaughnMichael 08-09-2007 11:29 PM

Actully it was the Toy line.

gobo 08-10-2007 12:16 AM

M.G. was in Dirk Savage?? O_o I honestly don't remember that.

But, he was a toy first, for sure. I think it was a tight race, but I believe he was introduced in the Archie comics next. I remember watching the ep back in the day, wondering if Mr. X was supposed to be based on Null. :D

Yep he was along with the frogs, tokka, & rahzar.
And yet it went toy, archie, and then toon.

Are you sure the frogs were in Dirk Savage? It's been a while, but I don't think they were.

yes as well as some other random mutants.
I believe it was only 2 of the frogs though.
I have all of the episodes taped off of tv from when they first aired.

CyberCubed 08-10-2007 05:18 PM

Just watched "Leonardo cuts loose," Casey Jones is hilarious in this show. I kind of liked it that the Turtles never really got to know him that well, and he's pretty much a maniac. Its funny how the Turtles don't care when Casey runs after a normal guy with a hockey stick just because he was dropping garbage on the floor.

Deathknight 08-10-2007 10:50 PM

Actually, Only Ghengis and Napoleon appear after Leatherhead: Terror of the Swamp. I was never sure as to why this was. Though I suppose you could count Atilla and Rasputin appearing when you see them briefly in Napoleon Bonafrog: Colossus in the Swamp, they don't talk though. Both Napoleon and Ghengis appear in Dirk Savage Mutant Hunter though. They come to visit the turtles.

ToTheNines 08-11-2007 08:14 PM

Well, I've only got one more episode of season 5 to watch. All I can say is that it's been a pleasant suprise.

Pros:
Very funny season
More background music added to the repitoire
Almost every episode is entertaining
Characters like Leo, April, and Shredder get more funny lines
Limited eff-ups (bandana errors, and what not)
Decent animation for every episode
Very few alternate voices (Jim Cummings, bleh)
The 4th wall breaking humor is at its best

Cons:
Almost no real fighting (season 7 is getting close tho!)
Stupid new opening sequence (No "duh duh duh duh deh dah" with the episode title)
No big finale

Good thing this puppy was on sale at K-mart and had such radical packaging, or else my cheap ass wouldn't have bought it until it was marked down big time (I still don't have season 4)

You can find season 4 at Walmart for 25 bucks.

That's not a bad deal for 40 episodes at all (well 38 that you don't currently have on DVD).

Chances are when it's marked down too (if it's ever) you won't get the nifty slip case.

Also you risk the chance of not being able to find it (I know volumes 1-6 are easy to find cheap, but they're not a 5 disc set either). I haven't seen Season 4 at my local Best Buy, Suncoast or Circuit City for a while now.:ohwell:

Tell me you're joking... When you first see Leatherhead, he has all four frogs carrying him on that stretcher thing. Or were you thinking about a different ep? Because I seem to remember one with only two of the frogs.

Lmao, as much as I loved that episode... it was some seriously random s**t

Sage Ninja 08-12-2007 11:10 PM

I absoulutely loved the special features :D and interveiew with the turtle actors (even the elusive Barry Gordon and Townsend Coleman) was what i've been waiting for since the series started coming out. I'm so thankful that Liongate is wising up to what the fans want. What an improvement over the last few dvd releases. I noticed some thing pretty neat. Barry Gordon and Rob Paulsen natural voices sound very similar to Donatello and Raphael, but Cam Clarke and Townsend Coleman sound very diffrent from Michaelangelo and Leoanrdo. I was not so suprised that Townsend Colemam's natural voice didn't sound like Michaelangelo's but I was bit suprised that Cam Clarke's natural voice didn't sound more like Leonardo since i always figured Cam's vocalisation of Leoanrdo was his voice just pitched higher. And I was wrong. And Cam Clarke still got it! He can still do Leonardo's voice as very well even after all these years. Townsend, the energy and spirit is still there but his Michaelangelo is a bit rusty.

And I thought those stories about being not being taken seriously as the actual voices behind the turtles by little kids was really funny

No because Groundchuck and Dirtbag didn't come from a Zoo.
The only thing I could think of was when he made bebop and rocksteady.
Theres so many crazy things in this show lol take for example the Muckman episode krang sends shredder, bebop, and rocksteady out to get a chemical to make mutagen...yet later in the episode when they capture splinter shredder has him hanging over a huge vat of what he says is mutagen when the turtles and the muckos come to rescue splinter they chase krang and shredder back into the room splinter is in shredder says well at least I will destroy you! splinter says I think not! and knocks the Vat of mutagen over sending a rush wave of mutagen over krang and shredder sending them down the hall in the drome at that moment I had one of those ummmmm moments because they should have turned to mutants or became deformed by the mutagen.
Also in the same episode Donatello needs a sample of the mutagen that turned muckman and joe eyeball into who they are Joe then throws the glob of mutagen at Donatellos computer and without a glove or anything Donatello picks it up with his bare hand after everyone had just jumped out of its way so yeah Don should have been affected by that.
Then in the Mondo Gecko episode Mr. X touches the mutagen when he picks up baby Mondo and nothing happend to him that botherd me considering how when splinter touched it he became a mutant.

gobo 08-13-2007 02:00 AM

Okay. Agreed. But, wasn't there a comment in TURTLEOIDS about Shredder mutating a zoo? That's what I was getting at.

I don't remember I'd have to watch it again.
And the comment is made in dirk savag mutant hunter though.
The point I'm getting at is we never saw it happen just found it kind of odd tuns of mutants who never got turned back to normal mind u where running around the city...

What the hell was he doin in the sewers anyway?

LeoNerdo 08-13-2007 02:43 PM

I haven't had the chance to watch any of the episodes on this set yet because im still trying to finish up Season 4, but i did go ahead and skip ahead to the special features. I never actually believed lionsgate would get interviews with all these people, so it really is amazing to me to see interview clips with them talking about this show. i can't wait for the mondo gecko episode..lol i loved it when i was a kid.

CyberCubed 08-13-2007 02:49 PM

Anyone notice the big animation error in the final episode, "Michaelangelo, the Sacred Turtle?"

During the first 7 minutes of the episode, Mike is wearing the disguise with the hat and the long blue jacket and pants, he's about to be attacked by the guys with swords, and then after the commercial break Mike is still standing there but instead he's wearing the trenchcoat outfit instead of the first one!

Did a different animation team do the second half of the episode? They like forgot what disguise he was wearing before the commercial break.

Deathknight 08-13-2007 02:58 PM

Haha, yeah I remember that. Very bad animation error there. Though classic TMNT has a lot of animation errors so it's not suprising.

Turtleman100 08-14-2007 12:11 PM

I love this intro. The cover is something new and I like it. Then the part I watch 3 times was hearing from the guy that did the voices of our Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Is it just me or was there something wrong with Rob Paulson eyes. Anyway I got Season 5,Fast forward and TMNT. All on the first day which was on tuesday.

themaxonline 08-16-2007 11:44 PM

Inevitable question but I'm already excited for the next Season. Sometime in November I presume? When should we start to expect information to come trickling in? I hope they fill the gaps that were left off of this set.

CyberCubed 08-16-2007 11:51 PM

They really have to put the Planet of the Turtleoids 2-parter on this set, because isn't there a later ep in Season 6 where they RETURN to the Planet of the Turtleoids?

I think there is, and if that's the case people will have no clue why they're going to a place they've never been to. That's why that 2-parter better be the first two eps on the disc selection screen.

Revan 08-16-2007 11:52 PM

I wish they would have interviewed Renae Jacobs for the season five set. They better not leave her off of the next release. I would be crushed.

Deathknight 08-17-2007 12:41 AM

Well, Kerma does come back in season 6 because he's being hunted by Destructor X due to a malfunction but they don't go back to the planet of the turtleoids. You're thinking of the season 7 ep Escape from Planet of the Turtleoids. Season 6 has Return of the Turtleoid.
