TMNT Ep Discussion "Bad Blood"
No idea what this is about but there ya go...This ep airs Dec 2nd.
Bad Blood could mean several things... perhaps the Dark Turtles or another descendent of somebody from the past. Won't really know till the info is released. But nice to know that they're airing eps during the winter. |
So 4kids is apparently blowing through all 13 episodes before the end of the year.
That means we have to go from January through September with no new episodes. That's 8 friggin months of repeats. Why in the world did 4kids split Fast Foward into two seasons instead of airing them altogether like they were supposed to? Do they honestly think an 8 month break of no new episodes will HELP this series? This is going to send TMNT's already low ratings to the negative numbers. |
They just need to get DONE with Fast Forward already so that they can show more TMNT 2K3....that is why the ratings suck...and you know why else the ratings suck...?
Because 4Kids sucks @$$ through a straw. |

I thought the reason they pulled this FF stuff was because ratings where not up to par? That the network thought that by kiddifying the show that it would pull more of its target audiance.
|
I still think it would be unlikely for them not to premiere anything new when the movie hits... But, I could see someone making a deal to keep the market clear for only movie-related merchandise at that time. But, that would concern me in that it would suggest a lack of confidence in the film's merit. :blanksta: I'm still hoping for The Lost Season before next Fall.
...because I dare to dream. EDIT: Just realized, but this ep title is a good sign. Remember Bishop's debut ep? Until it aired, they were calling it "The New Guard". Since it was actually "New Blood", it is my guess that some self-righteous airhead thought that the word 'blood' was too much for kids. So, here FF is, and they're not trying to PC it to death? That's odd, to say the least. |

What I'm concerned about is an 8 month gap with no new episodes would probably kill interest in the show entirely. It's a terrible business tactic. |
Maybe they've decided to air The Lost Season after all and pushed back Fast Forward's second half..? And maybe if the ratings are good enough for it, they'll consider concluding the FF story and returning them home. :D

Why don't they scratch this whole Saturday mornings thing and place the Turtles on in primetime along with The Simpsons? Then they can beef up the fight scenes and not have to worry about sissy parents protests against the violence!

The show is more for Teens and all Teens watch are crap reality shows on MTV and Fox. |

I think if they were to revamp the show and incorporate it in a more adult setting at a more adult time, the show would have unlimited possibilities. But at the moment, it's severely hindered. The only people that are up in the weekend mornings are the little kids. Teenagers and adults are mostly sleeping in from staying up all night partying or watching "late night tv". And I find the Turtle story arcs more befitting for the older mind sets. This is just my opinion, and I dont see why not test the franchise on the more adult scale. I think one of the reasons why the motion picture movie did so well was because it was not dumbed down for the kids. Why wouldn't the same scenario work for an animated version? |
What are u guys talking about?? Lost Season is only 13 eps but FF is 26 eps. I haven't heard anything about them doing a hiatus thingy between eps.
|
Sorry, Warhorse. I have to ask, what makes you think an action 'toon with family tone would survive in Primetime? That's Crudeadulthumortime. It's existence would either go unnoticed or would be assimilated into the Crudeadulthumortime mold. Isn't that one of the complaints about FF, because it has too many retarded jokes?

Since Lost Season isn't on the DVD schedule anymore I am wondering if they plan to air that next Spring around the time of the movie, but I'm not holding my breath. Murphy also said that it's possible Ninja Tribunal could be aired as Season 7 in 2008 (assuming the TMNT return home at the end of Season 6) since when they return from the future the TMNT could be dropped at any point in time. |

Codey would suddenly have a british accent because it's soooooo funny. And Splinter well he could just lay around all day and watch t...v oh wait that is what they did to him hahah:lol: |

Must admit I gave up with the UK airings when the Season 4 set came out.
Just checked Radio Times and they're listing it as weekend mornings, with the latest listed being "Wing and a Prayer" on Dec 2nd. How far did the show make it in the end? Did CITV ever reach "Ninja Tribunal"? |

Why don't they take some of the story arcs from the first season of the 2003 series and place them on in the evenings, say for the summer. Just to see how things do? Can't do any worse than some of the shows that have managed to stay afloat for the last couple of years. I just don't see the problem with trying. You'll never know how something will do if you dont try. And what didn't work for one thing certaintly doesn't mean that will be the same outcome for everything. |
I wasn't trying to insult you, Warhorse. I wish it could work that way myself. But, since the show would need to change hands to a group that handles Primetime programming, it would quickly transformed into something less favorable than what we have now.

It's the same thing that happened to Jim Henson he was an adult entertainer then he did Sesame Street as a project which many people don't even know that he was just helping with the show it's not even really his sure he did the puppet skits and all but some one else was behind the entire show. His Muppet Show, The Land Of Gorch on SNL, The Labryth, The Dark Crystal, The Jim Henson Hour, as well as The Story Teller are not taken seriously because of the fad that Sesame Street Became. Now finally after all of these years of Jim's passing Brian his son is finally trying to bring back the name of the true Henson Studios and help regain the credit that it once had as a company. It takes allot of work and if Peter Laird really wanted to do it he would the 2k3 series came very close to what it could be but sadly people still look at the turtles as a kids property. We can all say what we want but when it comes down to it in the morning when we all wake up he's the only one in charge of the Turtles and he's the only one who's got the power to make a difference. Sure we all can write to people and tell them oh this or that about ?Mirage and the 2k3 cartoon but it's honestly not going to make a difference as much as the owner of the property will make. A good idea would be to start witting letters to Peter with ideas of what he perhaps should do as his next move. Quote:

We get crap because the mindset of the average person is that TMNT is for kiddies, not for adults. Ya got the original series to thank for that.
The average adult (the typical non fan) will watch silly dramas instead of forgetting real life for 30 minutes as watch a fun, action packed show about 4 turtle mutants and their fight to survive. TMNTFF is killing the series and there won't be jack $#!+ after this psuedo season 6. Cutting the season into 5 and 6, is a pile of hot steamy poo. I used to look forward into watching TMNT every saturday when we had REAL stories with lots of character development, now after a long week of sitting in traffic I dont get anything to look forward to. It was just a nice little treat to wake up to on the weekends. Back on topic... I think Bad Blood will be about the dark turtles and those eggs...which IMO Sishakabobo is a really lame looking character. BIG body TEENY head. |
They should show the Lost Season in prime time for all of us true TMNT fans to see...

Yeah a reality show:
In the sewer, spend a week with the turtles, can you handle it? The smell, the messes, the rat. |

Isn't the UK notorious for rerunning things over and over? I mean, Monty Python made fun of that a lot. |

Oh, right! Dr. Chaplin was the "New Blood". My evil, yo. :embarass:

Bad Blood Episode is on.

Just saw it. I missed last week's and heard it was really good. This one didn't disappoint. We saw the Dark Turtles--for now, a decent enemy. Splinter is in top form this time around and with Serling nonetheless and in a bar fight...he went to jail! Cody came in handy this time. Cody reminds me of Keno in TMNT II as he wants to help the guys but isn't "allowed" by Splinter. The only difference being that Splinter let him help as Keno just ran off. Overall, not a bad episode. As far as next week is concerned "The Journal" just seems like a filler episode though Splinter's warning about reading it messing a lot of things up seems interesting, I'm not sure if it really has anything to offer.

OMG I hate this cheery Cody "A little grossed out but OKAY!" :x:lol::dead::sick: It's' soooooooooooo bad
UGH...Cody's' little snothead, stuck up behavior....can I kill him? Someone say I can kill him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I"m a snot wad...i rescued the turtles and im a ninja kid....*STABS*.... These Dark turtles...they say they're "brothers"...being created off the guy's DNA...don't that make 'em ...in a way...their ...*shudders*....offspring? *DIES* Shishkababo wants to fool with Time & Space? Nah..the Doctor won't let him....I'd die laughing if, as a gag, you see a TARDIS materialise behind him. That was an okay ep...it would be fine if that Cody wasn't so damn prominant |
I slept in accidentally and missed it.

This episode kind of reminded me of the episode of Metalhead because it was programmed with the turtles' personalities. Except in this case, it was a more futuristic version. I felt that it was kind of funny that the clones had the same voices as the original versions.

There's no doubt in my mind that Dark Leo was modeled at least a bit after our old pal Slash. In the usual homage sense.
I liked this episode. Since Fast Forward was annouced to include evil turtles I've been waiting for them to show up and I really think they delivered. If they really are going to wait until Fall to show the rest (apparently all 13 of this season is heading to DVD in a box set according to another thread). Maybe they'll play reruns of previous seasons to ramp up for the new movie. Or better yet... they could play Ninja Tribunal (I doubt it). But if you want TMNT in prime time. There's only one place to do it. Toonami. They could put it between The Batman and Naruto at 8:30PM making both a NA comic hero hour 8-9PM and a ninja hour 8:30-9:30PM. And IMO that'd be the ideal slot for the Ninja Tribunal. I thought CN got rid of TMNT but it's still listed on their show page even though it was recently overhauled so I assume they can still play it. It's time to send letters. |
I don't get you people, first you whine that Cody was useless, and then when he's actually helpful you guys whine some more. And at least he knows when to stay out of the way of the real fighters; in the last scuffle he hung back and didn't even try fighting with the Dark Turtles.
Speaking of fighting, Serling actually did pretty good in that bar fight, didn't he? Yes, Splinter helped, but now we know the big robot can hold his own in a battle too. The thing that was interesting at the end was Sho'kanabo asking Darius about how the Turtles got to the future. Man, everybody wants access to time travel in this show . . . wonder who'll actually get it first, though? |
I havent been watching many of the recent episodes, but you can definitley tell the show is improving. Leo seemed a lot more in character today which I liked. As for the Dark turtles...hmmm i guess i expected them to be a little more intimidating but then again i have to remember this isnt 2k3 anymore. They were still pretty cool and i have a lot of hope for them in future episodes( I think I liked Leo's clone best) It kinda seemed like a hint to the fans that next time the dark turtles are back they might be a little more dangerous, when Dunn mentioned to Sho'kanbo(?) that he still beleived they had potential.

Pretty good ep. It was definatly dark and Raph's put down's at his clone were pretty funny (and rather dark)
I noticed an error while they were fighting tho. Dark Mike was fighting Mikey but when he picked him up it was Leo! Cody's really coming into his own. His wrist thing was definatly a convienent plot device tho. It appeared to be able to do everything. :P Plus he's now questioning his Uncle's motives! Yay! The Dark Turtles are definatly gonna become interesting re-acurring villians. Especially since they're on the O'Neil-Tech Payroll. *L* And it looks like that it may be Sho'Kanobo who helps the turtles get back to the past since HE's now interested in time travel. :P Now for a couple questions: 1: Were they fighting in the old lair? Quotes: "We kick no behind before it's time, little ninja" - Don "I'll show you oopsie!" - Raph As for next week: Ah.. Casey's journal! |
