TMNT Season 5 DVD
Though no date is given, TV Shows On DVD has cover-art for the next Classic TMNT DVD (which does continue the "Season" releasing started with the last one). *Yay!* :D

Yey! Another ep mystery... From the 21 eps on the official site's guide ("PLANET OF THE TURTLEOIDS" is one ep, but two half-hours), what can we expect here? It'll be reasonable for them to skip "THE TURTLES AND THE HARE" and leave "PLANET..." out since it actually aired immediately before season seven started (perhaps less than a month), that leaves 19 eps. If I'm not mistaken, they put "18" on the box. Should we forget Hokum Hare ever exhisted? As tempting as that sounds, the completist in me is having a fit.
BTW, diggin' the art. It's classic cheese to compliment the more cheesy points of the show. :D Great idea. |
YES!!!!!
Only one word can explain my feelings about this. YES! And of course, the pulling fist and upper arm inward motion that accompanies a big fat YES! |
WAAAAA-HOOOOO!!!!!
I'm so glad they are keeping up with that format. I was getting so tired of getting one disc at a time. There are still episodes to be collected that I may not have seen as a kid! I NEED ALL MY TURTLES! |
'Once Upon A Time Machine' should have been included with the season 4 box set as well. I'm hoping they don't skip over it.
I can't wait for this! w00h00! I actually JUST finished watching season 4 last night. |
Yay!
Season 5 does have some good episodes, so I'm excited for this set. Thank you Lions Gate for the Season Sets! If this comes out in the summer then we'll probably get a Season 6 set around November. :D |
Good news, although I have to ask. Cowabunga? Pizza? Is that really necessary for the cover?:ohwell:

YES! So looking foreward to this. Sure the cover is cheesy, but hey so was the show.
|
^ bingo. at least they left the gray splinter off this time. And Don is getting love in this volume. He's on there twice.

The coloring and borders are ok though I have no problem with that. Now if only they could do art that actully related to the episodes within the box set. |
Am I the only one who noticed they just took the Donatello picture from volume 3 and put a Pizza on his bo?
|
^ They have been doing that over and over with these old toon releases
|
Yipppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :D
|
Absolutely Awesome!! Thanks Lionsgate!!
THIS IS THE BEST NEWS I'VE HEARD ALL DAY:thyper:
THANKS LIONSGATE!! YOU ROCK!!!!!!:tparty: |
Will this have any special features like the Season 4 set had?
Maybe interviews with the Turtle VA's this time? |

This is the first news that's come (and it only gave the cover-art). So don't know of Features yet, but likely will soon enough (when more detailed news on it comes). |
Not to cash in with the TMNT dvd release and no longer a new release every 3 months but counting we are getting season sets its all good.
I was thinking we wouldn't get it until Nov. since they were doing season sets and not volumes anymore, I think it was just wishing they wouldn't stop releasing the OT. The box is pretty cool, it doesn't bother met all because pretty much EVERY volume/set LionGates has released has been inconsistant with each other, so as long as the designs are cool i don't care anymore that there is no consistency in the sets. As for Episode count, I don't mind it not being all of season 5, especially if one of the missing episodes is the premier that is already on dvd. Though I would be bummed since ending a set with a 'regular' episode is not the same as ending it with a good finale. Also season 6 has more episodes than 5 which would make S5 even bigger. Who knows what they'll do LionGates has done things weirdly in the past volumes as well. Season 4 also had 40/39/38 episode dilemma if you remember so it might not be final. I also wonder what the pricing will be? if its only 18 episodes its only 6 more than the regular volumes so I would hope it'd cost the same as those and not $20. |
:thyper: OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I am very excited!!!!! I cannot wait to get this!!! I hope they have both Planet of the Turtleoids on it...it's one of my fave eps in season 5.
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:tparty: :tparty: |

I hope the Red Sky ones get a different treatment. |
Anyone know when we can expect it to hit the streets?

was the next FF slated for August or fall?
I can't wait to get some of the Red Sky ones, they had a couple on the first volume |

On that note this DVD should contain MY version of the Pirate Radio episode. Only TMB has ever seen it from people on this forum I believe. |
The set comes out in August I thought everyone knew :D
"Lionsgate has done the same with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series from the '80s. In August, Lionsgate will release season five as a three-disc set packaged inside a pizza-style box, which is designed to appeal to the franchise's audience of males ages 18-34." http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=7356 |

New question: 18 episodes on 5 disks....what do you think the bonus features will be like? |

OK, so I am not the girliest of girls out there. But while I am in that age demographic, I certainly am NOT a male. I'm not even a tomboy- I have quite a doll collection.

Yeah...weird that they got Pat and James. And why didn't Pat discuss Baxter?

I can't wait to get this DvD. I wait anyway. I like the cover and I hope we get some good extras
|
That's an awesome cover. I dig the pizza box look.
|
Awesome news! There's a few eps in there that I haven't seen in awhile and would love to see again so I'm really looking forward to this! :D
|
Despite the reused art, I do like the pizza look of the box. Looking forward to throwing out more VHS tapes!!!
|
Throwing out old tapes? Ebay them! Or send them to me! lol
So the release date will be in August, eh? Awesome! I believe volume 5 came out in August of last year (vol. 6 in December and season 4 in march) so season 6 might be out before year's end. Here's hoping it will be combined with season 7 but I don't want to hope for too much. I'm just happy we've gotten this far! |
