The Paris Hilton thread

I'm hearing this on the news right now. Apparently Paris Hilton whined and cried during her horrible one day in prison and they decided to send her home to house arrest.

Oh boy! Yeah. That's like the logic of sending a misbehaving child to their room so they can play with their toys and video gaqmes.

Of course prison isn't fun! IT'S PRISON! You're supposed to go there to be PUNNISHED.

Of course, Punnishment for Paris Hilton is having her legs shut for a whole minute at a time.

Kunoichi_Haruko 06-07-2007 09:13 AM

Yeah I read this too. I'm so disgusted right now...

junkboy 06-07-2007 09:19 AM

They did it to show the world that : Everybody, with a sex video or not is still equal, and should pay for it...
But it did not go on it seems...

Bah...

Or maybe Paris has found Phoenix Wright as defense attorney for herself. ( and no offense Phoenix, i like you really much :) )

iris 06-07-2007 09:23 AM

They don't release people from jail because they cry. I just read about this in News Day, where it said,
She was held in a special unit where she was spending 23 hours a day in a solitary cell, her lawyer said.

After she checked in, sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said Hilton's demeanor was helpful.

"She was focused; she was cooperative," he said.
But the reasons for her release-- mysterious "medical reasons"-- are probably bogus. She'd only been there 3 days.

NightwatchersOnlygirl 06-07-2007 09:28 AM

She sounld stay In a bit longer

Anarky 06-07-2007 09:28 AM

I'm so glad that the legal system is not in the least corrupted and still treats everyone the same. I'm a firm believer in the justice of the courts. Now more than ever.

Duke 06-07-2007 09:37 AM

This really upsets me. It's so ridiculous that some people can get out of anything. She was sentenced and she should serve the time.

Mecha Cow 06-07-2007 09:38 AM

Yes, God forbid Paris should actually have to face her punishment like a regular person. Remember kids, drinking and driving is no joke, unless you're rich and famous.

Congratulations Ms. Hilton, you have once again proven yourself to be the personification of everything that's wrong with our culture.

No, they release them because they're celebrities. Lookit that guy who was on that cop show... wuzzizname.

I think they should make Paris Hilton work for the poor. At the very least, a dunk tank full of bleached wated that poor people who can't get their lives together can play with. I mean, damn... It's BAAAAAAD enough she's been born into wealth, but to be famous for just being rich and a slut... it drives anyone who was chewed up and spit out by the entertainment industry mad.

Actually, you can't blame her for that one. You can blame her for crying and being sober for the first time in probably months, but you can't blame her for getting released early. I bet she didn't say "Hey guys, I don't like it here, I'm going home." Some judge or some other legal ass must have signed it off. So the real outrage is not Paris for a change, it's the entire freaking legal system, which is obviously corrupt. But I'll bet 100 bucks that everyone is going to be mad at Paris and just swallow this decision on the legal system's side. Even in this thread, people will be yelling about how much Hilton sucks, I bet. Thank God we've been dumbed down enough to not see the obvious. After all, what is this constitution-thing anyways? I heard you can eat it...

Mecha Cow 06-07-2007 09:58 AM

You are right, she isn't always the cause of the bullsh*t surrounding her, but my point was that she is the personification of these things in the sense that they constantly seem to follow her.

I actually agree with that... I just hate America's obsession with Pretty Blonde white girls... even though Paris looks like the illegitimate daughter of the Great Gonzo and Kinkotsuman. But we shouldn't just blame our legal system, but the whole practice of "OOH! Pretty famous whore girls" worship. I mean, remember when girls looked up to people like Gloria Stienhem (sp?) and those kind of people... now they just want their rich parents to let them whore their way through life.

But yes, the legal system is corrupt, but I'm still angry at Paris anyway. But then again, if they gave her a leathal injection it probably wouldn't take affect in her drug addled body.

Mr. Snackpants 06-07-2007 10:20 AM

I could go on and pn about this, but bottom line....

********!!! Medical reasons my ass. She got out 20 days early. Now she has 40 days of house arrest? Oh no, she has to stay in her mansion for 40 days. What a bitch. I'm so pissed. I would like to know what medical condition she has...lord know what kind of diseases that slut has. SHe keeps giving people more and more reasons to hate her.

iris 06-07-2007 01:31 PM

So, I think I see a definite pattern now. Basically, Paris was complicit in the courts' need to make an example of her.

1. Paris Hilton is a "rich, selfish ho'" who has lots of teenage fans and is on probation for driving and alcohol-related offenses. She then commits a related misdemeanor.

2. A judge sentences Paris what is essentially a month and a half in solitary confinement at a county prison for her misdemeanor. The judge knows this sentence is excessive, but wants to make an example of Paris Hilton.

3. Paris fights the excessive sentence. Everyone laughs and calls her a whiner.

4. The court is forced to halve the sentence. To save face and call attention back to Paris Hilton, they claim the reduction was "for good behavior."

5. Perhaps the court intimates that there are potentially more "rewards" if Paris makes a good example of herself? Or perhaps Paris has the best lawyer ever? Because...

6. On the eve of her incarceration, Paris Hilton makes a showy appearance at the MTV Movie Awards for a nice public mocking. At this high-profile appearance, she makes this statement:
"I did have a choice to go to a pay jail, but I declined because I feel like the media portrays me in a way that I'm not and that's why I wanted to go to county, to show that I can do it and I'm going to be treated like everyone else. I'm going to do the time, I'm going to do it the right way....

"I'm scared but I'm being strong and I'm ready to face my sentence.... I hope this can be an example to other young people and be something positive."
8. Paris Hilton, model citizen and shining example to rebellious children everywhere, is released from solitary after 3 days, conveniently before she can experience or see anything that could be held against the courts or the corrections system. She will instead serve 40 days at home.

Punishment for Paris Hilton- having her credit and debit cards and checkbook taken away from her for a month. Also having a 9PM curfew.

Does Paris Hilton do anything for a living at the moment?

Her name sounds like a hotel. Which fits her because she receives a lot of guests if you know what I mean.

Maybe because her family started the hotel? Also I'm fairly sure you have to pay to be the guest at the hotel...

Roseangelo 06-07-2007 06:23 PM

Just heard on the local news that she will now be appearing in court tomorrow to decide wheather or not she should return to jail.

Oy, the saga just won't end!!

bullet 06-07-2007 06:27 PM

so how many nukes do you believe would be aimed at that particular court tomorrow?

Her name sounds like a hotel because her family owns the Hilton franchise.

And seeing how this is QUICKLY turning into a political thread, I'd suggest everyone just keep their legal thoughts to themselves. If you want to be heard, take it to the streets, not the boards.

Buslady 06-07-2007 06:31 PM

its a buncha hooey cos in jail, she would be getting any and all medical attn. she supposedly would need. She's little miss rich beotch and famoose...that's it. Money talks.

i dont patron the stupid Hilton Hotels....so they dont get my cash. *goes to make sure* Aw crap...the freaking Hampton Hotel...it's a Hilton! NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!
Damn. cos Hamptons are the best.

Duke 06-07-2007 08:53 PM

I really hope she gets put back in jail tomorrow. She should have never been released to "house arrest" in the first place. If you do the crime and are found guilty then live up to your responsibilities and consequences.

One of my Mom's favorite sayings growing up was "C=C=R" or "Choices equal Consequences which equal responsibility."

Hehe. That made me snicker. I remember reading about this and saying out loud "Wow... what a f***ing surprise. I wonder what took the legal system soo damn long to let her out." Please, medical reasons? Yea, she was having withdraws from whatever she smokes, snorts, or injects... oh yea, and random men. Geez, I'm sure if they had just greased her up and threw her into a holding cell with like 7 guys the only withdraws she would have been having would be the drugs. An example for young people, huh? Yea...

"Hey everyone, guess what! If I drink and drive and don't kill anyone my license will be suspended and if I get caught driving I'll only go to prison for like 3 days! Awesome! I'm gonna go knock over that crappy gas station for ciggs because the bitch that works there always cards me. I'd like to see the system keep me in prison for more than a week! HA-HA!"

........Thanks Paris, you're the best model my little sister could ever have.

42... *looks at a suspiciously shaped package in her shed*

Well, I'm going to say what everyone else is saying and get this off of my chest - I'm sick and disgusted at how people can escape a sentence. Sure, she is still under house arrest and the such, but if she is able to get out of staying in a jail cell, it could be easy to get out of that, wouldn't it? *shrugs*

What I'm really wondering about is the girls who look up to her now. Are they slowly starting to realize that she isn't as great as they thought she once was? Or are they admiring her for "courage and cooperation"? Honestly, I hope if anything comes out of this, it is that the number of "fans" Paris has is slashed in half... /rant

Warhorse 06-08-2007 05:10 AM

You know, this really shows how messed up this system is. Paris Hilton's crime is because she put people's lives in danger. But that's not enough reason to keep her behind bars.

OJ Simpson, I still say he is a murderer and was running from the poilice, endangering more lives, and gets off scott free.

But when someone is found guilty for money fraud, like Martha Stewart, they make damn sure they serve their time.

Buslady 06-08-2007 07:03 AM

like i said money talks, you rich & famous? You get out and do time at home instead. bleah.

i just got out of jury duty for a DUI case...I did NOT get picked and even if I did, they'd dismiss me. They wouldnt want me cos of what I do for a living. I couldn't be fair.

I dunno about the Martha stewart thing. it did help her career after all. Even though Martha's apprentice show bombed (probably for being repetitive and pointless, like it's predicessor).

While we'd love to think Parisite Hilton will have less fans, but she won't. People will love her more for being a mindless celebrity distraction, without even doing anything.

I really hope she goes back to jail and gets beaten up by a gang of poverty stricken mothers who had to rob banks and stuff to put food on the tabel for their kids.

Spike Spiegel 06-08-2007 10:49 AM

I hope she isn't one of the mindless preteens that will just love her more. I remember my mom hearing about this and laughing her ass off and it made my sister cry. In all his years as an attorney, however, Geragos said he has never seen someone given a sentence as severe as Paris Hilton's for what she did.

"Actually, she is getting special treatment, but not in the way people think," Geragos said. "She actually served almost twice or three times as much time as anybody would on a 45-day sentence. … The fact remains that if she was Paris Coreen instead of Paris Hilton, she wouldn't have done more than 12 hours."

Geragos noted that with California prisons in a state of emergency at double their intended capacity, it actually made more sense to have an offender such as Hilton serve an alternative sentence.

"What the story is for real — the kind of understory ˜ is that the jail is overcrowded and the sheriff doesn't have enough funding," Geragos said. "He is managing and he is making decisions and he is making pretty good decisions from where I sit. Because frankly, when Paris Hilton was released, I don't want to go home and lock the doors.

"I would rather keep people in there who are a threat than those who are clearly not. Who are you going to let go? Are you going to let go serious felons? Are you going to let go predators? No, of course not. … I don't think there is anybody sitting here thinking right now, 'Oh my God. Paris Hilton is on the street. I better watch out!'"

Mr. Snackpants 06-08-2007 01:48 PM

Yeah, because drunk driving is a total f*cking joke. The prisons are full, fair enough, but let's not trivialise what she did. She is not the victim here.

The media circus goes on. Hilton's back in jail... for 45 days, this time.
