Turtles Vs. Batman
 

Okay, this is purely for fun seeing as how everybody's got their opinion (some likely VERY strong) about stuff like this and of course there's no way you could ever have a definitive answer. But just for the heck of it...

A while back in the TMNT comics letters page someone asked Peter Laird his opinion on who would win in a fight between the TMNT and Spider-Man. His answer was that if it was a fight to knock out the other guy, then Spider-Man would win. But if it was a fight to KILL the other guy, then the TMNT would win. Fascinating indeed...

Seeing as how The Dark Knight is huge right now (and rightly so--one of the best movies I've ever seen), who would win in a fight between the TMNT and Batman?

Are we talking all four Turtles vs Batman? If so, I think it would be the Turtles for sure, if only for the fact of superior numbers AND that they know how to attack together (that's important!).

If it were a one-on-one fight, it might depend on the Turtle. Batman has a lot of spiffy gadgets, so that could give him an edge. To me, Leo is the one who would have the best shot at taking out Batman on his own.

The "kill or no kill" aspect could have bearing in this instance, too. I'm not familiar with the Batman comics, only the cartoons & movies, but Batman never seemed to be one to kill, same as Spidey. Pete's opinion might hold sway here, too.

Simple question. All we need to know is.....



does batman have enough time to prepare? :lol::lol:*

The heck with Turtles vs Batman... I wanna theorize the Turtles vs Joker myself. The Turtles would win that fight, no doubt (being the good guys, after all)... but they way they'd fight would be uncanny

If the TMNT didn't kill him the first time they fought I think Batman would win round 2.

Batman is proficient in taking on highly-trained multiple assailants. He does it all the time, as a matter of a fact. He's also more focused, mature, and has an assload more experience at combat than the Turtles.

He would mop the floor with them in seconds.

Im not to well known with batman, but im sticking with the turtles anyway.

Mirage TMNT vs. Batman Comics = I'd say Batman, but it's close.

OT Turtle's vs. Batman: The Animated Series = This would be brutal, I don't think this version of Batman would be hurt by someone squirting pipe water at him.

TMNT '90 vs Tim Burton's Batman = I gotta give it to the turtles here.

Secret of the Ooze vs. Batman Forever = I got Batman here, the turtles were horrid fighters in this one, plus this Batman was Doc Holliday.

TMNT III vs. Batman and Robin = I'd say turtles, but then again they'd have to deal with Batgirl this time. Ah forget it, Clooney would get his ass kicked

Next Mutation vs. the Birds of Prey = Wow... Turtles, for no reason.

2k3 TMNT vs. The Batman = They'd pwn the sh*t out of him.

TMNT Fast Forward vs. Batman Beyond = Terry's Batsuit was just too cool, plus his villains are way better.

TMNT 07 vs. Nolan's Batman = Another brutal beatdown of the turtles.

I know I left out video games, Archie and Image (Plus alot of Batman stuff), but by this count I have:
Batman - 5
TMNT - 4

I'll go with the Dark Knight. But I can see Volume One Mirage Turtles or NT Leonardo forcing Bats into a stalemate. Don't forget, the Turtles battle multiple and overwhelming numbers of trained Ninja assassins just like Batman does.

Well, depending which universe you're speaking of, the enemies that the Turtles are victorious against consist of half-schooled individuals, who are mostly incompetent. In the Original Movie, the Foot are teenagers who are rather poor at fighting when you get down to it. In the Classic Toon, they're cyborgs that aren't any more impressive than the Foot of the movie. In Secret of the Ooze, Toka and Razar are mentally handicapped child monsters... of whom the Turtles can't overpower in any fight. Yet Batman, only one man, has been known to best Bane in martial arts. Bane is bigger than either Toka and Razar, and has a genius intellect to back it all up.

True, but remember Volume 1, number 1:

"These guys are good...
But we...
are...
better!"

That doesn't sound hard. :lol:

For me, I'm a bit biased since Leonardo is my favorite. But keep in mind that he did go toe-to-toe with the Shredder (who is arguably the most dangerous and skilled ninja / crime lord in the Mirage universe) and beat him. So Leonardo alone would be a huge challenge for Batman. Put all four Turtles together as a team and Batman's got some real trouble on his hands. However, as has been mentioned already, Batman is a master strategist, so if he had a chance to think things through and plan, he could give the Turtles real trouble too. There was that moment in the Dark Knight Returns where he basically beat (or at least equaled) Superman. I love his line (could have been from The Dark Knight Strikes Again): "Your problem is you've always been so powerful that you've never had to learn strategy." And that's where Batman truly excels.

All that being said, while the Turtles are more inclined to kill than Batman, they also prefer lives of peace and would never just go and spill innocent blood, especially from one as noble as Batman. And he'd feel the same way about them.

So again, I'm not sure on this one.

What I'd love to see though is Batman approaching a horde of his rogue's gallery (Joker, Two-Face, Scarecrow, etc.) from the shadows; they all smile, mocking him that he's dead meat; then he just says, "There's something you haven't thought about." The Joker says, "Like what?" Batman: "Back-up." Then the four Turtles emerge from the darkness behind him. Then the butt-kicking really begins! :D

One can dream, anyway.

A one-shot TMNT and Batman team-up could be cool. Not that Batman needs backup really. He's a one man army in and of himself.

On a note for this thread: The TMNT are on their way to mastering Ninjutsu. But Batman has already mastered not only Ninjutsu, but a very wide range of martial arts. He traveled the globe for years learning everything he could from the greatest forms.

The Joker would die laughing from the fact that they're mutated turtles that took up the profession of ninjas.

It would be pretty cool putting mikey and his chucks in front of a drum set!

I'd like to see Mirage Turtles vs. Joker, mainly because the Turtles would do what Batman should have done a long time ago, which is finish off Joker for good.

As far as the original match goes, I think it would be a good fight, but I think Batman has the edge because of all his gadgets. That's okay Turtle fans, because like all crossovers it would probably end with them teaming up after getting past the misunderstanding.

4 highly trained ninja, fast, hit hard, armed with weapons but butt neekid...

1 highly trained nutcase in a armored suit, a cape that can possibly drag him down...esp if those 4 ninja got a hold of it. Armed to the teeth. He is fast but relies on gimmicks.

It'd be a close call, it could go either way. I think the TMNT would be seriously screwed up cos they have no body armor. A shell doesn't count because it CAN BE seriously injured, a large crack will cause ungodly pain and/or death. Shells are bone, nerves, blood vessels and make up a turtle's body.
Bruce has his funky body armor, I don't know if Leo's blades can slice thru it..if it's kevlar like it's supposed to be, he may not be able to.

I dunno, I'm not gonna analyze every detail...I think it could go either way.

Beyond that, I think they'd be a strange team working together once they realise they're on the same side.

I liked the "backup" idea. that would be cool.

I'd like to see - Hellboy vs Bats....now, we know HB's the good guy, poor Bruce would have no idea. Big Red would clobber him easy, he can take anything Bats dishes out-oh it'll hurt but he can take it; I can see Red kicking Bats onto his ass and "Hey buddy, I'm on yer side!"
Or one good shot (yeah right) with the Sam, it's over. But he wouldn't wanna kill Bruciepoo.

Yeah I think a freindly crossover would be better than a battle.

Mike vs. The Joker (or Scarface :lol:)
Don vs. The Riddler (or Mr. Freeze)
Leo vs. Ra's al Ghul (or Scarecrow)
Raph vs. Two-Face (or Bane)
Leatherhead vs. Killer Croc
Casey vs. Hush
Usagi vs. Kyodai Ken

The TMNT do have some great villains, but no too many of them. I'd love to see them tangle with Batman's villains.

Batman VS Shredder would be a fight to remember.

For some reason, I see Michelangelo beating the crap out of Batman without even touching him. He's very good at bugging the sh!t out of someone, so Batman just might do himself a favor and take a longe walk off a short pier!

Batman deals with the Joker all the time. Mikey ain't got nothin' on the Joker as far as annoying humor.

Back in 6th grade , I would've said that the turtles would win this hands down. But now since my studies in the Comicology arts have matured, and seeing as how Batman has the knowledge of not only beating Superman, but also the entire Justice League, I'm going with Bats. I like the turtles better mind you, but Bats got the technology, money, and most importantly , the skills and experience. True, he may not kill the turtles, but he'll neutralize him.

I think out of the Entire Bat Family, Batgirl (Cassandra)and Batman would be the only two that could take out the entire TMNT single handedly. I mean, Batgirl CAN read people's body's like most read a book.

If it wasn't Cassandra, I'd agree. Nightwing is actually my favorite of the Bat Family, but Cass has abilities that not even Batman himself can match. She learned body movement as a language, she knows what people are considering doing before they do. Huntress as Batgirl? No. Barbara as Batgirl? Absolutely not. Cass? Yeah, totally.

You did well in citing each special attribute of every Turtle. The fact is, though, that they aren't ready to take on a versatile man like Batman and be victorious. Don't be surprised, that if they did end up facing one another in combat, that Batman would fluidly alternate the styles he used to counteract the Turtles individually (he'd probably use evasive movements at first if they attacked all at once, assess every Turtle's attribute as you did... only in a matter of seconds...) and then take them out accordingly.

Their best bet would be to stay in a close-nit cluster circle, flanking one another for the entire duration of the fight. They'd have to exploit every move in their arsenal with the utmost precision... and if they were lucky by fighting Batman on a "bad night"... they might be able to land some decent blows. Even then, I don't see them ultimately winning.
