Poster: How rare?

I've been trying to get a copy of this poster, but I can't find one. Is it really rare?? I think it's from a convention. Any info?? THanks guys

Well, I see you got the picture off eBay. I think I bid on that, but I'm not sure. I just know I didn't get it.

So far, i've only seen two on ebay in the month or so I've looking on eBay for TMNT stuff. That guy had I think two of them, one signed by Eastman and Laird, and the other, as you see here, signed by everyone but Lincoln.

I really would like this poster as well, even if it isn't signed by anyone.

Archon_Turtle 06-09-2009 08:35 AM

thats an 8x10, just so you're aware.

drasgow 06-09-2009 08:35 AM

what did you search for to find it on ebay? i've been looking for it for awhile, and have never found it on ebay.

DonatelloFan 06-09-2009 08:55 AM

Every day, I just search 'Ninja Turtles', and look at all the new stuff for the day. I check it probably 3 or 4 times a day, just to make sure I don't miss a great 'Buy it Now' deal.

That's how I do it.

Thats the search I run too, as well as set up searches to auto run for specific things. I'd say you get 1-3 pages of new stuff a day.

Woowww. In Ebay Spain you can get 1-3 new items a month. I want to be in America!!! xDD

Archon_Turtle 06-10-2009 08:20 PM

Whew, someone clearly wants it more than I do. They are welcome to it at that price.

Man I wonder what spaz bid it up that high. That's one thing I hate about Ebay. To many people freak out and stuff gets way too pricey.

andrewdsz 06-10-2009 09:31 PM

Whaat a piece of copy paper worth 200$? I thought i saw the authentic copy of declaration of independence or something.

Well, it's a litho, but I get what you mean.

Dark 5cythe 06-10-2009 11:01 PM

its all about bragging rights. That guy thinks its cool to say he spent 200 bucks on it.
Because he can. more power to him if it makes him happy.

Me? I wouldnt pay 5 bucks for it.

Someone has to have a copy of this scanned in. its gotta be on the net somewhere.

Or the seller or one of his friends is jacking the price up.
this is why I try to wait till the last minute to snag stuff.

actually I was the one that kept bidding...I agree it is weird that you would open with such a high max though.

After the first few bids it became obvious that he set it to something astronomical...so I just kept going...

It's a sickness...but hey, I never took the lead. I kept getting auto-outbid, so who knows what his max is.

Yeah I hate that, I've been getting auto-outbid on Palisades Zoot & Lips Muppets figures for the past 5 years.
I'm not going to give up until I win them, they're the last 2 I need for my collection grr!

Archon_Turtle 06-11-2009 02:53 PM

Suprise Suprise, there is a second chance offer sitting in my inbox :-P

Score!

You should report that guy for shilling which is what was obviously happening.

BoggleKng 06-11-2009 05:18 PM

Damn, that sucks. Is it true that there are only 60 of that print made?

Archon_Turtle 06-11-2009 05:45 PM

Something is SUPER shady about this guy. Nevermind the fact that he has ONE posative feedback, but check this out.

So I get a second chance offer of $200. ANd I tell the guy that I will be happy to give him $100, which was my original maximum bid BEFORE the bidding war with the buyer that backed out. So he sends me this:

Quote:

The other buyer actully never backed out as you can see and won the item for $200.99 which is the amount I will sell it for if you are still interested the offer is there...let me know and thanks for bidding!!
So if the other buyer never backed out...why the **** am I getting a second chance offer?

Well, that's the number printed on the bottom so I believe so though I imagine more could have been made (here's mines, which is #7 of 60)

Dude, just congratulate him on his $200 sale and bid him adieu

Archon_Turtle 06-11-2009 06:01 PM

indeed. It is a pretty obvious shill. He probably bid something astronomical and then would instantly second chance the highest bidder.

I reported him for it for posterity

DonatelloFan 06-11-2009 06:23 PM

Yeah, that's stupid. And that 'one positive feedback' is probably from that auction with the one signed by only Eastman & Laird.

He'll end up relisting it again.

He thinks just because the 'other bidder' bid that high, he should get that much for it? No one can be that stupid when it comes to ebay.

I agree, just tell him 'thanks but no thanks'.

drasgow 06-12-2009 08:03 PM

hello everyone. i was actually the winner of the litho. i've asked about it around here before, including the b/s/t section. the only price i've ever seen was in an old thread around here where someone paid 100 or so dollars. i didn't want to brag about paying so much. i regret that it went as high as it did, but i don't regret winning it. as archon said, sometimes when you want something bad you throw in a crazy high bid(incidentally it was 200.99). i thought i would get it for much less than that, and i hoped no one would go that high. but now that archon said he got a second chance offer, i'm getting a little nervous.

i've searched ebay for awhile and never found it. i never looked up just "ninja turtles" and then sorted through it all. i put in ninja turtles poster, litho, lithograph, print, and other variations of the theme. it sucks that it was previously sold for much less, but if this guy isn't a turd and sends it to me i'll be happy (if a little lighter in the pockets.)

Well of course none of us meant any offense by this conversation drag, its just that even if this guy is legit, he is going about things in a REALLY shady fashion. If you'd like me to send you my conversation with him, I would be happy. PM me with your email address.

michaelangelo 06-15-2009 04:31 PM

if you guys want it and dont care if its a reprint, its in the back of city at war #50. you could easily scan it and print it out...

just a suggestion

DonatelloFan 06-19-2009 07:55 AM

Wow, just wow.

Both posters are on eBay again. I can't remember if it's the same seller, but here they are. And they are priced VERY differently than before. You know, starting at .99 and going to $18 or so for the Eastman & Laird photo. Well, anyway, I'll let you all just look for yourselves.

Eastman & Laird Signed Photo

Photo signed by lots of people

Of course, it has a 'Best Offer' button, but still, it's ridiculous.

drasgow 06-25-2009 07:10 PM

well, i got the poster. it's not the numbered litho, but it seems to be the genuine article for signing. it's on a heavy stock paper. so... i'm sad that i paid so much for something i thought was something else. but it's sitll kind of cool. sigh... the search continues.

youre telling us he sold you a fake? And youre ok with this?

It's not a fake; it's exactly what the seller said it was. The auction says quite clearly that it's an 8x10 print made for TurtleCon in 1992 and makes no claims to being limited and/or numbered. I don't have the dimensions off hand, but the lithograph being referred to is HUGE in comparison and was sold through the back of the TMNT comics (and maybe at TurtleCon? I don't know). The 8x10 was probably a freebie.

Now because of over-zealous bidders he thinks he's got a hot, valuable commodity, thus the crazy BIN prices for the other prints he has.

BoggleKng 06-26-2009 11:30 AM

The original is 20x20. Rose is correct.

drasgow 06-26-2009 09:31 PM

yeah, i should have done more research before i through down the bid. he didn't send me a fake, i should have read the auction more closely. he wasn't a bad seller at all. it sucks that i super overpaid for some autographs. i was really excited because i've been looking for the print for so long and it's one of my grails.

OA 06-26-2009 10:01 PM

Man, that sux big time for you but I'm confident you'll snag the full print one of these days. If anything, this should be a learning lesson for you (and others as well).
