New Power Rangers DVD and Music CD
Well since there's been a few posts about Power Rangers here I thought I'd mention or remind fellow fans that the greatest show on TV is getting its first DVD release on April 1st 2003.
"Power Rangers: Ultimate Rangers" 10th Anniversary DVD will be released featuring the best episodes from the past 10 years of Power Rangers. --------------------- The 8 episode DVD includes: 1. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - "White Light" (2 episodes). Back in season 2 of MMPR where former Green Ranger Tommy becomes the all powerful White Ranger and leader of the Power Rangers. From a time when Power Rangers popularity was at it absolute highest this classic episode earns it place on DVD. 2. Power Rangers In Space - "Countdown to Destruction" (2 episodes). All the evil from the past unite to take over the universe so the Power Rangers and there allies unite to defend it and in the shocking ending red ranger is forced to kill Zordon to save universe. Most fans agree that this was the greatest episode ever and it definitely deserves to be on DVD. 3. Power Rangers Lost Galaxy - "To The Tenth Power". The first proper ranger teamup sees the Galaxy rangers and the Space Ranger join forces to battle the evil Psycho rangers in another fan favourite episode which deserves its place on DVD. 4. Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue - "Trakeena's Revenge" (2 episodes) The second and not so great teamup that was briefly released on video gets a DVD release too. The Lightspeed Rangers must team up with the Lost Galaxy rangers to battle Trakeena who survived her final battle in Lost Galaxy and has found her way to Earth to take her revenge. 5. Power Rangers Wild Force - "Forever Red". Get ALL the red rangers from the past 10 seasons including the original Jason and Tommy, bring back Bulk and Skull plus Alpha 5 too, stick in some cool Matrix style fighting effects and you've got the amazing 10th anniversary episode that totally deserves it place on DVD. The DVD also comes with a limited edition 10th Anniversary Poster. ----------------------- Disney have also released the "Best of Power Rangers" music CD out now. It's features classic tracks plus 3 all new ones including a brand new remix of the original "Go! Go! Power Rangers" song. This comes as a great surprise to Power Rangers fans, the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers theme song gets an all new 2003 remix courtesy of Disney who I now love. :) :) :) I just hope the DVD turns out good and the episodes aren't edited ABC style. Don't forget to get it April 1st (I'm importing mine). Plus there'll be a Power Rangers comic (Cine-Manga) and trading cards from Bandai coming in summer. It looks like Disney are doing a good job with the show now that Saban is long gone. |

Hmm... I probably won't buy that DVD, but I would be interested in renting it. I'll have to check it out once it's released.
|
1. Don't care
2. This Show Kill SatAM Sonic the Hedgehog! 3. Hardly anyone watches it. |

I will probably rent that power rangers DVD, it wasnt ever my favorite episode, but I wanna see where the green ranger goes to white ranger, and where all of the bad guys unite :) |
But would you like a point less tv show that got rid of another show. There would be two choices 1PR and 2 Satam. Which one would I choose? SATAM!! Satam is 100x better than PR!
I'd wish it'll end up in a cliphanger bury all the tape and cemented it down. |
There's a picture of the DVD cover on the Buena Vista site:
http://bvhe.video.go.com/products/2890903.html It actually says that the episodes on the DVD were voted for "by the fans" even though none of the Power Rangers fans I know ever had the chance to vote. I doubt "Trakeena's Revenge" which is the real weak one on the DVD would have ended up on there if the fans really voted for the episodes. Remember to buy it - April 1st (then maybe they will release more episodes on DVD) ;) |

Ok first I'm a fan of SatAM, but if it could be beat by PR then it needed to die. I mean if a show as well consived as Sonic could die before a show as bad as the first season then Sonic probly wouldn't have survived a 3rd season. Its just the time and the cards second, that cover still sucks third, its hard to believe that any fan would vote for an ep of Light Speed crap hole, if they were going to add 2 more eps it should have been one with Quantum Ranger and one with the gold ranger |

I've never heard of this SatAM show so I'm not surprised it was cancelled. Obviously it was nowhere near as popular as shows such as Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles, Pokemon, Transformers etc which are all household names.
Power Rangers has it's legions of fans who've watched right from the start and of course there are new people watching all the time. As Shellfox pointed out there is no way it would be starting it's 11th season still with good ratings if it wasn't for a huge fanbase. Let's not forget it's 10th anniversary reunion episode which was purely nostalgia for the older fans. Few (if any) kids shows can boast for going 11 seasons straight, still bringing in good ratings and a having a top selling toy line. So there must be something good about this show even if some people aren't willing to watch and see for themselves. Oh and just something about the Power Rangers Music CD I mentioned. It got an editorial review on Amazon and surprisingly it was a good one: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...e&s=music&st=* Nice to see someone giving PR some respect. |
Jason SatAM is Sonic the Hedgehog that they showed on Saturday, the comics based on this show are still production by Archie, the first 2 seasons were good, but from what has been said about 3 it would have been horrible, Robotnic is no ones lacky, though getting Tim Curry as an cast member would have been cool
|
I used to like the power rangers until they started replacing the original with others. I watched the show through Zeo
|
Fine don't have a hedgehog. Sonique leader of FUS is going to deal with Sega. FUS is so powerful I bet they'll do alot of mail saying give DiC's dVD rights back! As long as there members are together they may have a chance. DiC doesn't need to face this at all . They just brought themselves out of Disney's Control. Sega doesn't have any control over them. They may hate the Ultra Sonic episode but they have no rights to do this.
Long Live SatAM!!!! |

P.S. Snively makes a better ruler than Robotnik. |

Look all I'm saying is Sat AM has been off the air for how many years now? some where near 10, it's not going to get a 3rd season, yes it may live on in our hearts, but its dead as a series, just like Venus is dead in TMNT, yes we fans may keep it alive but from a media stand point its dead and gone. Yes some shows come back, and continue the saga like Beast wars/Machines but in many respects they have little to do with the original series, their may be connections but its still not the same, it may be good but nothing more. And lets face facts the comic has gone down hill, maybe it'll pick up soon, but I see that as a real question due to the 3 stories in a book format they have going and the occasional crappy art work and the bad story lines. Yes I like PR but I also like sonic (I rejoiced when Sonic Foundation came, even if the site kinda sucks right now). But you have to let this go, I go to FUS a lot, and while I am behind them, I see things as realistic, the odds of it coming back are slim. Yes I know the fans have power, hell I was behind all those people that kept Quantuum Leap on the air for so many years, but to much time has past, and in animated form SatAM as a media product is gone. I covet the EPs I down loaded from Sonic HQ all those years ago, but I have let SatAM go. If by some chase it comes back I'll eat crow all day long but I don't see that happening. One day PR will go off the air and I will accpt it, I won't like it any more than when Sonic left the air waves but I will accept it. Honestly I miss the Underground eps, but with whats coming the Green Samuari Ranger would be a nice sit in member with his inserments.
But screw both these shows, Transforms is still around and for that I'm happy, even if the armada kids suck beyond words |
How about you go back to your commits about a low buget CD. And DONT SAY AN INSULT OF SATAM AGAIN!!!!!
YOU CANT KILL A CARTOON!!!! |
If there one thing I've learned through message boards its when to let thgings go and try to get back to the real topic
That being said, I question the choices of the DVD and I'd like to know what eps those of you here would put on the DVD? Me 1. MMPR- Some major Trini ep, maybe the one with the ninja and her uncle with the invisablity juice (in honor of her passing) 2. MMAlienR- The ep where bulk gets turned in to a monster 3. Zeo- An ep with both Jason as Jold and Auric the Concorer(love the tiki man) 4. Turbo- The intro ep of Lighting Cruser and Storm Blaster 5. Space- Mega Battle 6. Galaixcy- Mega battle and Karon vs Astronama ep 7. Light speed- Super Train mega zord intro 8. Time Force- Time shadow intro 9. Wild Force- Meric Vs Zen-aku 10. The behind the scenes speacil with Jason and Zack that had the Pilot ep featuring the first Trini And if they ever do a forever yellow, I want the pilot version of her in it, I don't care where she is but I want her in it (maybe trini had plastic surgery) |
Well obviously I'd like to see all the episodes on DVD sets but if it's only certain ones then the best would be:
Mighty Morphin Season 1: Day of The Dumpster: 1st ever episode need I say more ? + the Lost Episode version. Green With Evil: Tommy the evil Green Ranger shows up with his Dragonzord to whip the rangers in this cool miniseries. Season 2: The Mutiny: Lord Zedd shows up and banishes Rita. The rangers have to get new zords to battle him. The Wedding: Rita returns to marry Zedd. They turn Alpha evil and trap the rangers in a haunted house with monsters of the past. Return of the Green Ranger: The evil Green Ranger is cloned and goes head to head against the White Ranger while the other rangers are sent back in time. Season 3: Ninja Quest: The Thunderzords are destroyed and the rangers must go and find Ninjor the creator of there powers to restore them. A Friend in Need: Masked Rider/Power Rangers crossover. Kim/Kat saga: In this 9 episode saga the evil Kat tries infiltrate the rangers to get rid of Kim. Hogday Afternoon: final episodes of MMPR Power Rangers Zeo A Golden Homecoming: Jason returns and becomes the Gold ranger. Power Rangers Turbo Transmission Impossible: Visceron reveals Dimitria has a twin sister. The Millennium Message: The Blue Senturion arrives with an important message in the future. Honey I Shrunk the Power Rangers: Cool special effects as the rangers are shrunk to insect size. Passing the Torch: Tommy and co pass there powers to a new generation of rangers. The Phantom Phenomenon: The mysterious Phantom ranger makes his first appearance. Chase into Space: Zordon is captured and the Command Centre is destroyed. The rangers leave Earth behind and follow Divatox into space to rescue Zordon... Power Rangers In Space From Out of Nowhere: All the evil of past has united as Dark Specter drains Zordons power. The rangers meet Andros and have their power restored. Shell Shocked: Ninja Turtles Crossover. The Delta Discovery: Phantom Ranger returns . True Blue to the Rescue: Justin returns for a Turbo/Space crossover. Always a Chance: Adam returns for a MMPR/Space crossover Mission to Secret City: Andros becomes the first ranger to get powerup armour in the form of the Red Battlized Ranger. Countdown to Destruction: Best episode ever. :) Lost Galaxy To The Tenth Power/Power of Pink: Space/Galaxy crossover Protect the Pink Quasar Sabre/Facing the Past - Karone becomes Pink and then vs. Astronema. Journey's End: One of the best season finales. Lightspeed Titanium Intro episodes Time Force Force From The Future: One of the best if not the best season opener PR has ever had. The Time Shadow: When the rangers are in trouble the mysterious Time Shadow comes there rescue. Quantum Secrets: Awesome episode where Eric get the Quantum Mega Battle. Beware the Knight: Wes gets his Battle Fire Armour. Wild Force The Wings of Animaria Reinforcements from the Future Forever Red |
But the 5 episode series with Tommy as the evil green ranger and i'd buy it.
|
Great choices Jason but they do kinda defeat the porpose of the 10 ep format
my choice for DVD2 MMPR- Tommy intro Space- Psyco rangers version 1(I think thats five eps) DVD3 MMPR season 2- Masked rider 1-3 Zeo- the 3 with the girl from VR Troopers Space- TMNT VR troopers (if possible) no specific ep Wild Force- 10th power Space- Adam ep DVD 4 MMPR- Cyclopsis 1-2 MMPR- Return of the green Ranger 1-2 (man there famliys were creepy) MMPR season 3- The ones with the globber, Master Vile, and the metaclic armor MMPR- Mutant Rangers-go captain crayfish And if any room left the ep with shell shock DVD 5 get the ranger actors from MMPR 1-3 plus Zordon to each pick one of their fav eps and to do commentary on them Extras- High light on the zords, filmographies (hell all the stuff they've done), and Really good pics of the Dino zords that were suppose to be used in seaon 2 |
It's just been announced on Amazon and a few other sites that Disney are releasing ANOTHER Power Rangers DVD in June featuring episodes of Power Rangers Ninja Storm.
This is so cool maybe they will release the full season if we continue to buy the DVDs. Hopefully the new DVD will have extras and stuff which it looks like the Ultimate Rangers will be lacking. |
Maybe its just me but thus far Ninja Storm kinda sucks, from what I've seen thus far I wnat it over and aba rangers on
|
Latest News about the DVD's. "The Best Of Power Rangers" DVD has been released early in some states. There is a picture of DVD posted by Blonde Ranger on Power Rangers Central:
http://osiris.sunderland.ac.uk/~ca2jsi/UltimatePR.jpg The DVD has all 8 episodes but NO extras. There is a really cool double sided 10th anniversary poster that comes with it though. The new Ninja Storm DVD will be out 3rd June and will apparently feature the first 4 episodes of Ninja Storm. It's even titled "Volume 1" so let's hope there is more and maybe the full season as so many of us want. |
Maybe its just me but the Wild Force logo kinda ruins the poster, I mean it is of all 10 reds, so it doesn't really warren the WF logo, if anything it needs all the logos. And no extraas suck
|
Just one little thing, I'm really geting pissed at NS. Right now I see one of 2 things happening with green, either its Cam, which will suck, I know Greens coming, hell the toys already out, and having Cam pretty much being groomed to be green sucks for that reason. "thier are more ways to help than that of the ninja" Green samuari ranger anyone. Or 2 they are going for the massive screw job, far better than even the games they played with us over White and Gold Rangers combined.
And why are Black and Hunter in the opening already, it hasn't even been 10 eps yet, some big bads they are, Tommy kicked more ranger but that they have so far |
Quote:
I found out that the poster is double sided. On the reverse there are shots of the red rangers each with there own show logo above them. :) Quote:
In MMPR why had the new character Ritchie. He was kind of mysterious and we occasionally saw that he was a good fighter. People thought he may have been the White Ranger but it was Tommy. In Zeo we had the characters Billy and the new character David. Tommy's brother David was very mysterious he's disappeared all the time especially when the Gold Ranger showed up. The same happened with Billy who always disappeared saying that he was working on something. Both David and Billy were great fighters and were never around all the time. The Gold Ranger could have been either one of them. Instead it turned out that Jason ended up as Gold Ranger. In Time Force we had Quantum Ranger. Virtually everyone was SO sure it would Alex. The red suit and with the similarities to Wes many people thought it was obviously going to be Alex right ? Then we got Eric... After all the red herrings in past I can't help but feel they are doing the same thing again. I personally don't think Cam will be the GSR even though the writers are hinting at it. |
Disney have just released the box art for the new Ninja Storm DVD. Looks cool...
http://bvhe.video.go.com/assets/boxa...637DDfsL01.jpg Let's hope Disney go and release the full season on DVD  |
