Wait...what? Is this really happening? Do we really even have the stable GD community size to pull this off anymore?

If you wanna do this right, search for the old awards for category ideas and how they went down and whatnot.

When was the last time we had one of those... 2007 or 2008?

I checked and see that it was done in a similar way, but I figure why not switch it up some and instead of only being able to submit nominees, a user can also submit a new category for an award... We all have one week to submit as many categories and nominees that we want, then I will get everything together and we can all vote... I will then make award signatures for the winners...

If you have any suggestions by all means let me know...

There really isn't any controversy in that thread... The legality of the shirts have never been brought up either that I have seen until your post now, it is my understanding they are sold as a parody, but I'm not a lawyer nor do I play one on t.v. so if you can point me to a different thread then it could possibly qualify if you wish to nominate it...

Why feed his attention seeking? At best he's some 12-13 year old kid who gets picked on IRL and feels better about himself by creating his heroin addict sexed up douche charachter so he can believe he's better than anyone here.

The bones were at least interesting.

These awards do make it pretty clear, that the community on here has dwindled a bit on here. Sure, people are posting, but it's a little more sporadic.
Sure that will change next year though.:)

I would really like to see some links to threads to backup your nominations... I removed two of the categories (newb and troll of the year) because they are titles I would think would be unflattering to a member... and I am also going to limit each category to 5 nominations total... So what I am going to do is once a category reaches 5 nominations I will post the final list for that category and ask for any final objections and if there are any they will be addressed before voting begins.

Can I just say that this is terrible? I can appreciate what you're trying to do, but this is just not going to go well at all.

When a ton of competent people were in charge of this, it was still a cluster-f*ck and now we have one dude in charge? Also, now you're turning down categories when most of what you already have is entirely meaningless to the people who these awards are (were) made for in the first place?

I don't know, this just still seems like a completely awful idea to me. The fact that there are only 2 pages to this thread after almost an entire week is proof enough that the community just isn't here.

I was pointing it out so you wouldn't waste your time doing it. And this is a community, one of the bests, but unfortunately a lot of the people who made this place so great have moved on, or rarely post, and a lot of new members don't stay for the duration.

Wait until new stuff starts happening with the TMNT and the place will be ablaze again. The timing just isn't right, don't get so defensive about it.
