TMNT @ New York Comic Con
A place to list TMNT-related things at this year's New York Comic Con, to help those of us who are attending catch all the ninja mutant goodness.
So far I know of the following: - a panel on Nick's TMNT show on Friday at 6:45 - Ross Campbell will be present in artist's alley - exclusive print of Tyler Walpole's cover to IDW issue #10 will be available Has anyone heard of anything else? Any Nick or IDW exclusives? Other writers/artists associated with TMNT present? List it! |
I'll be posting all the TMNT-related info I can gather on Ninja Pizza, probably on Monday.
I know Dario Brizuela will be there, and he's got a really sweet print of the Nick Turtles he'll be selling. |

Good thread idea. I'll see you all there, I'm excited that NY is finally getting some WELL DESERVED TMNT love this Con! |
Who from the drome will be attending?
|
I had plans to go for some time but funds just wouldn't permit it. Sucks. Hope everyone has a blast and takes lots of pictures!
|
I was going to make last minute plans, and then IDW limited came up with a gun and was like "give me all your money", and I was like "ok".
|
holy crap i completely forgot about comic con
lol thanks for reminding me |
I hope it gets recorded like this year's SDCC panel! I really want to hear what they have to say about upcoming episodes/seasons
|
Hey all. This might be my first post here. HUGE TMNT fan... from way back to the beginning, before the first TV series. I have all my original 80s comics & figures, NECA, 4Kids set and the latest figures. All the original comics... recently got a Leo tattoo (my avatar).
This year will be my first NYCC. I will be there Saturday. Any more updates on events, artists, exclusives? Thanks! \m/-_-\m/ |
I hear that Kevin Clash and Erik Larsen is also expected to attend. Too bad all tickets are sold out!
|
Erik Larsen will be there. Thanks for the heads up!
|
If I wasn't already making plans to go with my cousin to San Diego Comic Con next July, I'd attend.
|
I'll be there, but as a fan. Next year I might see about losing my case of the lazies and see about getting a table.

NYCC Comic Con was a blast, the Nick TMNT Panel was incredible: honest, candid, and we got a great reel of upcoming goodies. The "host" of the panel was a little off-putting, basically saying that anybody who favors the 2k3 over the OT is crazy. But the actual TMNT staff and panel was a blast. We're really lucky to have a guy like Ciro at the helm.
I had such a fun time, got a beautiful Donnie sketch and other prints from Ross Campbell, had David Peterson sign my Donnie micro cover, and bumped into Rob Paulsen in the bathroom. Truly a fantastic and thrilling time! It was great meeting the lot of you (Tokka, funatic, etc.)! |
For god sakes, did anyone ask about the possibility of 4kids DVD boxsets?
|
The con is full of TMNT cosplayers of all kinds! It's really so great. I haven't worn a costume since I was 10 years old but now I want to be a ninja turtle for Halloween!
At the con I got a giant OT Krang for $20 and a MOC TMNT:TNM Venus for $15! I'm kind of aiming for one of the 1988 plush turtles tomorrow :fshifty: |
|
Did anyone ask about Leatherhead? Hero or villain? When will he appear?
|
...Did you even bother to read the article you just linked?
"We also got a glimpse of Leatherhead and Mousers. Leatherhead looked incredibly intimidating (especially for a kids show) and the Mousers were covered in extremely shiny chrome and the inside of their mouths had vibrant red designs. Speaking of Leatherhead, Ciro showed us a quick (and not complete) video of the team battling the villain. There was no audio, so the voice actors ad libbed some hilarious dialogue and battle cries." |
Comic Con was a blast! I'm declaring it the Year of the Turtle. For those lucky enough to have weekend passes, if you didn't do it Friday, please VISIT ROSS CAMPBELL IN ARTIST'S ALLEY! The man is as awesome as his artwork. He had free BEAUTIFUL prints, and will do a high quality sketch for you, all whilst geeking out over the turtles! It's great to see true turtle fans taking over the franchise in this fashion. As Donnie said, judging by the clip reel, Ciro is steering the show in the right direction. That panel was a joy. Another turtle highlight of my day was seeing a Turtlemania Silver at one of the collectible comics booths (which I can't for the life of me remember the location, sorry). The most hard-to-find TMNT items I've ever seen in one booth, not just comics but original art, the oldschool pins, fanclub subscription card, patchwork kits, etc. Got a nice big print from '89 of the first RtNY panel there. Is the red-headed chap who was telling me he has a Turtlemania Gold on the drome? (I can't imagine you wouldn't be from what I heard of your collection.) It was great to meet all the other dromers as well. This was my first-ever con and I can't believe what I've been missing. Hope to be back next year!

Really enjoying NYC Comic Con! The panel was totally awesome the long line of clips they showed had so much to offer for this new season, some of my favorite stuff had the Turtles fighting with Baxter Stockman! I will be writing up a full detailed post about it.
Some of the other stuff there is the Lego booth, where they had the set of TMNT toys revealed on Thursday and we're putting together a wall with a TMNT image, any fan can help put a square together. I know Tokka, Fugitoid, Miki and I worked on it for about an hour helping out Thursday night near closing. Another thing is a walk through area being done up like a sewer tunnel for TMNT. With video and stuff. Really looks cool, and got an area near there where you can pose with the Turtle mascots. Here are some interviews I did on Thursday at New York City Comic Con... TMNT by Lego interview http://www.cowabungacorner.com/cowab...n-tmnt-by-lego Designer of the TMNT Sewer interview http://www.cowabungacorner.com/cowab...booth-designer Anyone who sees me at the con and would like a sticker from the Nickelodeon series just ask, I'll be giving them out as long as supplies last. Gave some out in the TMNT panel line last night. |
Wow. Sounds like you guys are having a blast. Thanks for sharing. So, what previews of episodes did you guys see?
|
Awesome today. It was VERY crowded, almost overwhelmingly at times. I got to meet Ross Campbell (very very cool guy), made a couple lego blocks for the mural and the Turtle Tunnel was awesome.
It was great to see so much TMNT love. They were everywhere. :tgrin: |
Great costume Donnie!:D
Cool vid's Ivey! I wish I could have been there,how fun! |
I had another successful day. I did manage to get my plush Donnie for $12 from a vendor because he's missing his mask (oh well!). That's the only turtle related thing I got at the con today. I did see one booth with the new Metal Head and Dog Pound figures, but I passed on them for now. I'm sure I'll see them again soon.

personally i'm from the bay area and our local con is Wondercon. I've been and it was really amazing, the panels were the best part. |
SDCC is not a good place to pop your con cherry. It's overwhelming. Try something a bit smaller first, I'd say!
