Name some TMNT characters you never want to see again

Think about any character(s) from any incarnation on TMNT you either don't like or plain HATE that you wish to never be seen or mentioned again. There's TONS of 'em out there

Metropoliskid41 03-28-2013 11:37 AM

"There are no bad characters, just bad writing."

That said I think most would be fine with no mention of Venus ever again in a TMNT series, but who knows, if she was tackled right maybe someone out there could find a way to squeeze her into a story & be likeable. Vibe is probably the lamest & most despised character in the entire DCU, yet for some reason DC has chosen to make one of their 52 ongoing series about him. Do the majority of people want Venus to return? Absolutely not, but stranger things have happened.

MikeandRaph87 03-28-2013 11:43 AM

There is a still active thread over in the comic section. While it is directed mainly towards IDW it has evolved into he property in general. :

Venus
Mr. Ogg
Venus
Aggy ONeil
Venus
Ch'rel
Venus
The Ancient One
Venus
The Ninja Tribunal
Venus
Demon Shredder
Venus
Venus
Venus
Venus

ObiWanFan4life 03-28-2013 01:35 PM

Definitely

RaphAndDonnie 03-28-2013 01:41 PM

Venus
Zach (especially since we have the Pulverizer now)
Ch'rel

Bossa Nova 03-28-2013 01:52 PM

I'm sure it's redundant to list Venus, but I'm also not crazy about Mona Lisa or Ninjara either and would be all too happy if I never had to see them in any version of TMNT again. I know those two (especially Ninjara) are quite a bit more accepted than Venus, but all three tend to piss me off pretty much all equally. I'm a bit more chill with Alopex, but it's probably because she's an enemy rather than an ally (if this has changed I have yet to read that far).

I could also do without Ch'rel, the Ninja Tribunal, Wingnut, Screwloose, the Neutrinos and Shadow Jones. I'm sure there are others but these are the ones I can easily think off the top of my head.

pannoni1 03-28-2013 03:32 PM

I posted my thoughts on that link, but here are some others:

Garbageman
European Vacation villains (Vikings for example)
Vid Vicious
Conservation Corps
The Uncanny Trio
Tatoo
Shadow Jones
Pimiko
Silver
Vam Mi
Bonesteel

CyberCubed 03-28-2013 04:22 PM

Depends how they're used. I can't say any character would be that horrible aside from Venus.

Archie Tatoo (who's just human and no mutant) rocks!

Slade 03-28-2013 08:14 PM

Zach
Pulverizer
Justin
Carter
Lord Dregg

Jephael 03-28-2013 10:31 PM

Carter, Dregg and any other character that was introduced in seasons 9 and 10 of the original cartoon.

shihe 03-29-2013 10:13 AM

Silver Sentry and the rest of those superheroes from 4kids show.

Every episode that had one of them was a major yawnfest.

4Kids Turtles was a great show, but I skipped every single episode with Silver Sentry in it. I don't recall him having any sort of backstory as who the heck he was, or how he or his "Justice League" got their superpowers..

They made no sense to me. The only chapter I sort of enjoyed with them was where Mikey was obsessed with being a superhero as the Turtle Titan. :D

Other than them I don't think I dislike any other character. Not even Venus that much, as having her in the Nick show would be ... interesting in one way or another. But having Silver Sentry in the Nick show would completely turn me off of it.

Icebot 03-29-2013 10:18 AM

Can't think of anyone. TMNT is a great show!

They're bad characters but we don't expect to see them again anyway.

It's like listing all those one shot mad scientists from the OT.

Too late, they're in IDW. Most likely they'll appear in Nick Season 2.

Metropoliskid41 03-29-2013 11:14 PM

That brings up an interesting point, we saw human Be-bop & Rocksteady at the end the Raph micro-series, along with a foot ninja we assumed was Shredder, which it turns out actually wasn't.

Alopex as far as we know was a Fox that was mutated into a humanoid Fox. Hob, Splinter, Slash, and all 4 of the Turtles were all ordinary animals first, who were exposed to the mutagen & became humanoid mutants. We haven't seen any humans mutated to animal traited humanoid mutants, and really I'd like to keep it that way. I often wondered why Shredder didn't just mutate the Warthog & Rhino he stole from the Zoo in the OT, just think how much more effective they could have been if they woulda been animals with instincts that were mutated, instead of brainless goons.

With Bebop & Rocksteady as humans already shown, odds are we'll get them mutated into their more familiar selves shortly, but I'd actually rather IDW tweaks their origins a bit & mutated a Warthog & Rhino instead of exposing some street thugs to the mutagen & having them take on animal physical traits.

Don't forget about HUN turning into a monster Turtle in Turtles Forever. And that only made him a bit deadlier I think.

Good point about the Human2Mutant transition. I guess there's a reason why OT Splinter kinda sucks... (But then again, Nick Show Spliter rocks socks... He even took down LEATHEHEAD!)

Mona_Lisa 03-30-2013 01:11 AM

one nobody mentioned that I hated was thouse little nano robots from 4kids. I was pregnant the first time I watched thouse "Nano" eps. AND I CRIED!!! Sorry if that was TMI.:D

I sincerely doubt it. Instead of Krang we will have Kraang Prime. Instead of Bebop and Rocksteady we already have Chris and Xever. I doubt Shredder will fire them any time soon, especially with how long it took Xever to finally get back into action.

In my post I was specifically just talking about the IDW comic, in which case all of the mutants have been animal first, not human.

Also; Big in Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing

Cipher 03-30-2013 04:31 PM

It's a pretty short list:

The Ancient One, the Ninja Tribunal and an active Justice Force.

Those are the only characters I find un-salvageable in their very concepts.

Lethal Lullaby 03-30-2013 05:33 PM

Garbageman
Venus
idk who else... oh, Lord Dregg

Blossombrooks 03-30-2013 05:52 PM

Abigail Finn from "The Monster Hunter" she makes me do a sideshow bob-type shudder.
Teenage Shadow from the Tales comics, just felt a bit forced as a character.

Leatherhead, I can't wait to see him in the comic, also Rene!!!!!!!!!!

This is who you don't want. Do you dislike Leatherhead?

There were a lot of terrible one-shot characters in Mirage, original toon, and 4kids I have no desire to see again, and given their obscurity and unpopularity....we probably won't see them.

People don't actually realize how many throwaway characters there are in the TMNT universe. That's why people only tend to remember the big ones, or the ones who stood out in some way.

Donatello19 04-06-2013 09:21 PM

I believe that any character could be a good character if written well, so there's really not a character that I "never want to see again".

Luigiperps 04-06-2013 09:36 PM

VENUS CAN NEVER BE DONE RiGHT! It ruins the point of the turtles, being raised together, she'd only work as a "What If"

Type 97 Chi-ha 04-06-2013 09:49 PM

In defense of Burne Thompson and Vernon Fenwick...

Who else could April O'Neil make fools of?

I loved the Channel 6 news crew in the original toon, but I don't see them working in any other series, save for Irma.

I'd say have her be like Trunks from DBZ- a gen 2 turtle who comes in for an episode or arc then goes back from when she came.
