New Smash Bros for 3ds and Wii U
 

Though we've known about the 4th Smash Bros installment coming out soon, I couldn't find a specific thread talking about the new Smash Bros games coming. I thought it would be cool to have one to talk about our hopes and speculations as details continue to emerge about the 2014 release.

So what do you think? Who do you want to see? Who should return, who shouldn't? Who should join for the first time?

Personally, I'm psyched about Megaman as a new third party character.

I'd also like to see Tetra join the battle.

I could've sworn we had a thread for this...

But anyway, I'm really pumped for this game, I've always been a smash fan. I'll be getting for both the Wii U and the 3DS. The new characters shown so far seem really cool, especially the Wii Fit trainer. I really want to see Sonic return! Characters that I think won't return are Toon Link, Ike and Marth, Lucas, Lucario, R.O.B, and Wolf. I'd love to see Wreck-It Ralph make it in as a urprise guest :D His fighting moves are even self explanatory..and his final smash could be turning the stage into the Fix-it Felix Jr. building (with the other fighters trapped inside the windows) and then he climbs on top and wrecks it :D

Cool thought on Ralph, I'd dig that.

I would also hope that they keep Sonic around, though Megaman is an awesome addition. I wonder about how Zelda might appear. I think it would make sense to feature her look based on her Skyward Sword appearance. Though I don't know what that might mean for Sheik. Perhaps there was a Sheik concept design for SS as there was for Twilght Princess.

Zelda is my second favorite character to use, so I hope we'll continue to see her. My first favorite is Peach.

Sheik was kept for Brawl so she'll be kept for this one. Especially with Ocarina recently remade again.

They shouldn't waste a roster slot on a terrible character from a bad movie.

I hate these threads, because it always turns into people thinking awful characters should be in the game.

Starman from Pro Wrestling had better be in it.

Batman should be in it.

Goku is my first choice.

Well, it's not a VS answer.

I'd like to see a new Pokemon trainer who is each generations main character with each change of costume. So the main slot would be Red, then Gold, etc. The Pokemon would alternate as well, keeping the same pattern as in brawl where it's the 3 corresponding starters from each respective game, in a different stage of evolution. Maybe its more work than it's worth for the people working on it, but as a big Pokemon fan I'd looove that. I'd really like to have Dixie Kong, too.

Thats your opinion. For one i think Wreck-It Ralph was a great movie.

It's great if you love movies that are completely unfunny or are easily impressed by known video game characters showing up for 10 seconds.

My choice for Smash Bros is Indiana Jones.

I've thought about similar things where the Pokemon trainer is concerned. What really bugs me is that not one of the current PT's color swaps includes the Shiny version of Charizard. I would have thought that to be an obvious choice.

He's completely devoid of any real characteristics. He's just this bland "I wanna do good" vessel that doesn't develop in the slightest. He's exactly the same at the end of the movie as he was at the beginning except that he has a medal or something. Pointless. Also, like everything else in that movie....NOT FUNNY. AT ALL.

It's not even about having opinions. It's about dumbasses putting out their ridiculous fantasy rosters that include crap like Goku and Bart Simpson. It's dumb.

I don't think Ralph would be that unlikely such as Bart or Goku, since he's a "video game character" and he made a guest appearance as a racer in Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed.

Danica Patrick also appeared in that game. I would hope Nintendo aren't desperate shills for product placement like Sega.

The whole point of SSB is supposed to be a love letter to Nintendo for the most part. Putting in a forgettable character from a forgettable movie cheapens the whole thing and puts it in the same league with garbage like Playstation All-Stars.

I want to see the return of toon link and sonic.... and see tetra/toon zelda join the fight...

If they are going to do Toon Link again, I would like to see him evolve a bit more. Wind Waker's Link had plenty of his own gadgets, moves, etc without having to basically be Brawl's version of Melee's Young Link, who was already a clone of Adult Link.

In all seriousness, I'd like to see Ridley from Metroid make it in.

Ridley was actually one of the most requested characters for Brawl, but Sakurai said he was "too big" to be playable.

Which is idiotic, since Ridley can be made the same size as Charizard and there would be no difference. Charizard is supposed to be huge yet he isn't...none of the Smash characters are in scale.

Aren't Charizards supposed to be under 6 feet tall? How is that huge?

Ridley is actually supposed to be gigantic. I'd would be neat to see him in the game, but he'd have to be shrunk a considerable amount. Completely unlike everyone else in the game.

Ridley is def. too big.... I would like to see X & Zero from the mega man x series.

Charizard's official height is 5'7". That's not huge.

Mega Man is already in there. Why would you need more? This isn't a game about guest characters. It's about the history of Nintendo. The line needs to be drawn.

Can we mention someone/something that makes sense? Like which Fire Emblem character(s) get in this round? Is Marth or Ike the one to go? Both of them? Is Chrom the obvious addition?

Does someone from Golden Sun finally get in? What about something from Nintendo's smaller titles like HarmoKnight? What about off-the-wall stuff like Captain Rainbow or Chibi-Robo? Does Nintendo's relationship with Namco now bring in characters from Tales of Symphonia, or Baten Kaitos? Speaking of RPG's, what about a character from Xenoblade or the forthcoming X from Monolithsoft?

Do existing franchises get more/fewer characters? Do they finally get rid of the boring Star Fox clones? Does Ganondorf finally get his own unique move set? Do they scale back the Pokemon characters, or do they simply swap Lucario out for the new Pokemon of the moment and move PKMN Trainer to G/S era starters and call it a day?

Or, we could just keep talking about which bad characters from non-Nintendo franchises should be in the game.

Little Mac is almost obviously going to be playable. There's already a boxing stage match and Punchout for Wii was a great remake.

I definitely think Chrom or Lucina should be a Fire Emblem rep.

I also want a Rhythm Heaven stage or something.

How about Bowser Jr.? His final smash could be jumping into his clown hover thingy while all of the other Koopa Kids attack the other fighters.
