Additionally, mutants known from the comics and old television show will return, including fan-favorites Bebop, Rocksteady, and Usagi Yojimbo. This solitary statement is rife with possibility, so let’s dive in and start figuring out what could be happening in Season Three
I'm super excited!!! :D

CyberCubed 03-18-2014 07:45 PM

I'm still wondering how they worked out a deal with Stan Sakai. His wife is ill and he's stopped writing the Usagi comic as its been on a hiatus for a while.

I wonder what prompted him to license Usagi to Nick? Perhaps hefty royalties?

Powder 03-18-2014 07:59 PM

This didn't need it's own thread, especially considering it seems not to be officially confirmed.

Shark_Blade 03-18-2014 08:56 PM

Is the tmnt blog not official enough? http://www.*************************...tles-season-3/

Weird the blog's censored.. any reason why?

Maybe they worked a deal with him before his wife fell ill. I do hope she recovers soon. :(

You mean the official blog, that the forum itself doesn't want to link too?

Powder 03-18-2014 09:05 PM

Yeah, that blog is run by a fan... One who, if I'm not mistaken, used to throw fits here all the time (if I'm thinking of the wrong guy, my apologies, though I doubt they'll see this).

Though Ciro is a pretty clever guy. While he may give people Bebop and Rocksteady to shut them up... it might not be the Bebop and Rocksteady people expect... or even want.

Or what Cybercubed wants anyway.

Shark_Blade 03-18-2014 09:54 PM

Of course they won't be exactly the same personality-wise or appearance-wise. All the cast: turtles, Splinter, April, Shredder, Kraang etc doesn't look/act the same.

Eiko 03-18-2014 10:20 PM

Don't know why do we really need them.
There is enough mutant's in the show already if people want Bebop and Rocksteady why not just go watch the old toon or read the IDW Turtles.

Becuase we can never have enough characters, especially mutants.

BabyTurtles 03-18-2014 10:35 PM

coolio :3

though....I hope they don't bring back to many old characters...I kinda wanted them to make new ones.

either way~ I'm excited to see how Usagi will look like in this show ^_^ probably as cute as the turtles~

Most of the mutants in this show are bland monsters who don't even speak.

Bebop and Rocksteady are actual characters. I'm also not so sure they'll work for Shredder like Rahzar/Fishface. They could take over the Purple Dragon gang instead.

that'd be cool~ Maybe get a few more purple dragon members while they're at it *_*

I want to see a whole stadium of purple dragon thugs! but I know that probably won't happen because of CGI limitations T^T

Huzzah 03-18-2014 11:17 PM

Or maybe there will be a full blown crossover with the 87 toon, and since we know characters that crossover take on the appearance of the universe they appear in (the Kraang Worm) Bebop and Rocksteady end up getting transported to the Nick Toon 'verse. Ergo, fans get the real Bebop and Rocksteady who likely either join up with Shredder with Rahzar and Fish-Face joining Karai or Karai recruits Bebop and Rocksteady as her muscle, because we all know she'll part ways with Shredder and be her own little enemy clique, albeit one with a slight truce with the Turtles.

CyberCubed 03-18-2014 11:24 PM

The toy sketches people saw has Nick's version of Bebop/Rocksteady have tribal markings on them, which I assume is war paint you see Africans or Native Americans put on their body.

B&R were pretty much confirmed months ago. Not a solid confirmation, but more-so than some fan site.

We know B&R are coming back. It's Usagi's potential return that's up in the air. But yeah, that site not only is fan-made (registered to some guy named "Firas Hajjar" outta Michigan, and the site's Facebook and Twitter sites specifically say "fan page" in them), but that article still says it's a rumor at this time.

That site is just to help that guy sell t-shirts, so calling it a fan site is a bit of a stretch. He actually tried to buy Ninja Pizza from me a couple years ago.

LeotheLateBloomer 03-19-2014 02:48 AM

Honestly, this show is doing fine without them.

Candy Kappa 03-19-2014 03:06 AM

So this thread was created with nothing new information or anything?

R&B was well established with the UK toy fair report, and nothing new on whether or. It Usagi is going to happen in the new show. Thanks for being a let-down with a misleading title.

It's new to me.

Don't like it? Move along. :tcool:

Technogeek29 03-19-2014 03:29 AM

Great the Safari twins are back.:trolleye:
Not that excited to see another thing from the OT in this show. My favorite concepts of this show are its original idea's except mutating Bradford. But whatever

Yes, because Ice Cream Kitty is such an innovation:roll:

CyberCubed 03-19-2014 08:24 AM

So why hasn't anyone contacted Stan Sakai to ask him if Usagi is appearing on the Nick show? If he gives a blatant, "No" then we'll no this is false.

Huzzah 03-19-2014 08:28 AM

There's never been anything like Ice Cream Kitty before, so that it pretty innovative if you ask me...but then again the original figures had a guy who attempted to bake himself into a pizza...so a food/animal (the animal being a human of course) hybrid isn't unprecedented...

We get it. The OT gets you off and everything else is flawed. Go away.

raph27 03-19-2014 12:41 PM

I watched Wormquake again today. Does anybody else think Usagi cut off Tiger Claw's tail?

Or has this been said a million times already and I didn't read it?

not a million times :D lol

but yea~ Usagi does have a katana so I'd say it's very likely that he cut Tiger Claws' tail.

zaktheneutrino 03-19-2014 01:05 PM

With Tiger Claw and the mentioning of Japan recently, I can totally see Usagi making an appearance. I loved the episodes in the 2k3 cartoon in which he was featured in. Season 2 has been solid so far and I have been very happy with how the characters have been used since the beginning of this series. The more characters, the merrier. I trust Nick will continue shelling out great story lines and using the characters appropriately. Off the top of my head, there is not a reboot of a character that I have been unsatisfied with.

BubblyShell22 03-19-2014 05:07 PM

If Usagi appears, that'll be awesome. I've always liked him, so I think that'll be great. I don't mind Bebop and Rocksteady coming back, though I think it would be cool to make them Purple Dragon members instead of Shredder's henchmen.

And, Cubed, I think Stan's more concerned with his wife's illness so he has enough to think about right now.

They did, the picture of his response is in the main Season 2 thread.

Usagi is not appearing in the Nick show.

Candy Kappa 03-19-2014 05:33 PM

R&B was solidly confirmed back in late January with reports about their action figure toy concept designs, and now Stan Sakai debunking the Usagi rumor.

Yes, and I wonder how they will appear? It will sure be fun to see, maybe they are two dudes that the Kraang mutated in Africa. :D

Uh, no. They better be two American street punks. One is black and the other is white.

Candy Kappa 03-19-2014 06:46 PM

What if Bebop's Mohawk is magenta instead of purple.

THE HORROR!

Huzzah 03-19-2014 06:53 PM

Magenta?! No! Just no! That would be the worst thing EVER!
