Are you guys happy that the new film is getting a sequel?
How do you guys feel about a sequel to the latest movie? Do you think there is a bit of untapped potential in this series that can be executed better?

I have hope that the sequel will be an improvement from the last one, but then again, I fear that the filmmakers might get really lazy and use the same formula again. |
I feel terrible about it.
meh.
Maybe the next one will be better, probably not considering the continuity it's gonna spawn from and the company behind it. |
Not from Platinum Dunes I'm not. It'll just be another terrible movie thrown together that was only made as a simple cash grab.

The movie didn't get enough off the ground the first time to make me excited about more adventures in this universe. Instead of successfully wrapping up all the important details about Shredder and Eric Sachs, you just assume Sachs is dead after getting knocked the f*** out and you get that shot of Shredder touching the goo....but what the hell happened? Did Sachs and Shredder get arrested? Was the Foot finally put on trail after being such an apparent menace throughout the film? No ones knows. It's a huge gaping plot hole that had to be taken out for some reason (or just wasn't written in at all, further making me angry at the "creative team" at Platinum Dunes) and your final shot of your TMNT in this series is a gag scene featuring the Turtle rape van.
The possibility of them throwing Krang, Rocksteady, Bebop and other characters I grew up with here and giving them their first real film debut makes me incredibly sad we're going to see it with these Turtles. I originally liked the designs at first but seeing them in the film and how only surface level they allowed their character personalities to be just really bummed me out and made me dislike the design choices even more surprisingly. I feel this franchise could go the way of how the Transformers movies went, the script's continued to get worse and the humor was even more toilet related, mean spirited and downright horrible. I don't have faith in this franchise to sore and I sincerely hope that these Turtles don't start to bleed over into infecting the IDW series at all. Luckily I think the people over at IDW also feel the movie is complete horse crap as well. I'll probably need to research that to know for sure. Anyway, tl:dr....no, I'm not happy. While it's fun to laugh at the movie, I think I would've enjoyed it more if this wasn't the ONLY thing TMNT film related we're getting. If we lived in a world where two movie TMNT franchises could go on at the same time, not confuse the general population and had a different, almost more mature tone to it...maybe I wouldn't be giving this such a hard time. However, since I love the TMNT and know that their rich history allows for so many great stories to tell and fantastic films....considering what we got this month for a movie? It's a downright bummer. |
No. I'd rather they do another reboot or continue from the original films.

You're right, they don't give you the chance to get to know them as well so they tack on things that you're aware of when it comes to each character and think that's a way to get around it. |
No, definitely not happy about a sequel.
Like yeah. :tcool:
Not really, no. But I still have the Nick cartoon(As well as the past TMNT stuff) to enjoy, so I'm good.
I'm neither, I'm not happy, nor am I mad. I have nothing invested in this particular continuity, so I could care less if a sequel is made or not, or if the new sequel bombs or not. The Turtles have survived train wrecks before (Next Mutation) so they will survive again.
Right now, the part of me that looks forward to it is based on the [possibly in vein] hope for improvement and doing what should have been done the first time around.
I suppose mostly I want the let-downs patched up so they aren't the permanent picture of this version; like having Knoxville cleansed from my perception of this version's Leo. The Turtles themselves (minus Leo's voice 'talent') were a good side of it though, all things considered and different as they may be, wouldn't mind seeing more of them. |
Well, I felt kind of sick after watching the first one, so I'm gonna go with no.
im very excited About the sequel i loved the First movie and the sequel has so much potenial I can wait to see it. The Actors for the turtles are perfect, the actor for shredder is perfect. the actor for splinter was perfect. I Just can't wait.
I can't wait for the sequel as I loved the movie and found it fun. Can't wait to see how and if they do Bebop Rocksteady and Casey Jones.
I am because I thought the new movie was entertaining. Plus, in the next film we might get Bebop & Rocksteady, Krang, and Casey Jones.
yep... 2nd will be better I think
Hell yeah!
Really enjoyed the first. Thursday screening again for me more than likely. |
I could take or leave a sequel. I guess its a good thing because it still promotes the TMNT concept (albeit poorly) and keeps the brand relevant. I hope for much better quality but certainly do not expect it.
I'd rather see Bebop and Rocksteady in a good film. So no. Let someone else take over.
not in the slightest.
Not really happy but I don't feel that I care enough about PD's "contribution" to the franchise to pay any attention to the second one, positive or negative. Enough of my time and energy were wasted on the first one, I just feel completely apathetic about the whole thing now.
I'll say though, I am 99.9% positive the sequel will make substantially a lot less than the one out now.
I'm indifferent about a sequel right now cos I still haven't see the first one. October 17th can't come quick enough.
I guess that's one reason for me not to be glad. This section filled with all of the box office 'analysts' blah blahing about what it's definitely going to do. Possibly maybe for sure.
I was ok with the movie, but I'm pretty happy it was successful. Even if I despised it, the fact that it basically guarantees the IDW book and Nicktoon will be around through 2016 is enough to keep me placated, I love them both.
Iv'e not even seen the first one and still excited for a sequel :P

Well the money could be used for movies more likely to be good, so not really but I bet the producers enjoy that they can make a sequel.
I liked the 2014 movie. It had some glaring flaws and wasn't great by any means, but it was decent for what it was. Anyway, I think and hope that a sequel will improve on certain aspects that worked. Plus Casey Jones.
Only the minor (practically minuscule) possibility that a sequel can only improve upon this years movie that it's actually passable as a movie in itself let alone be a movie that treats these specific characters and story right is what has me interested.
I'd say I was cynical about promises of The Raid style action scenes and the turtles being the focus of the movie as well as teases of Oroku Saki and a greater back story and mythology I assumed it was based on something but it all added up to a big fat nothing. If they want to convince me they've got a real challenge on their hands. Unless they show me otherwise I'm going to believe the opposite. I don't think I'm alone in this. |

Didn't Eastman think this movie was awesome when he watched it? Also, whatever happen to that cameo he talked about at one point? I could have sworn he said he'd make a cameo.
