Are you guys happy that the new film is getting a sequel?

How do you guys feel about a sequel to the latest movie? Do you think there is a bit of untapped potential in this series that can be executed better?

Yes and No.

I have hope that the sequel will be an improvement from the last one, but then again, I fear that the filmmakers might get really lazy and use the same formula again.

meh.

Maybe the next one will be better, probably not considering the continuity it's gonna spawn from and the company behind it.

Not from Platinum Dunes I'm not. It'll just be another terrible movie thrown together that was only made as a simple cash grab.

The movie didn't get enough off the ground the first time to make me excited about more adventures in this universe. Instead of successfully wrapping up all the important details about Shredder and Eric Sachs, you just assume Sachs is dead after getting knocked the f*** out and you get that shot of Shredder touching the goo....but what the hell happened? Did Sachs and Shredder get arrested? Was the Foot finally put on trail after being such an apparent menace throughout the film? No ones knows. It's a huge gaping plot hole that had to be taken out for some reason (or just wasn't written in at all, further making me angry at the "creative team" at Platinum Dunes) and your final shot of your TMNT in this series is a gag scene featuring the Turtle rape van.

The possibility of them throwing Krang, Rocksteady, Bebop and other characters I grew up with here and giving them their first real film debut makes me incredibly sad we're going to see it with these Turtles. I originally liked the designs at first but seeing them in the film and how only surface level they allowed their character personalities to be just really bummed me out and made me dislike the design choices even more surprisingly.

I feel this franchise could go the way of how the Transformers movies went, the script's continued to get worse and the humor was even more toilet related, mean spirited and downright horrible. I don't have faith in this franchise to sore and I sincerely hope that these Turtles don't start to bleed over into infecting the IDW series at all. Luckily I think the people over at IDW also feel the movie is complete horse crap as well. I'll probably need to research that to know for sure.

Anyway, tl:dr....no, I'm not happy. While it's fun to laugh at the movie, I think I would've enjoyed it more if this wasn't the ONLY thing TMNT film related we're getting. If we lived in a world where two movie TMNT franchises could go on at the same time, not confuse the general population and had a different, almost more mature tone to it...maybe I wouldn't be giving this such a hard time. However, since I love the TMNT and know that their rich history allows for so many great stories to tell and fantastic films....considering what we got this month for a movie? It's a downright bummer.

No. I'd rather they do another reboot or continue from the original films.

There's nothing surprising about that at all. See, one of the main reasons so many of us "haters" were taking issue with design to begin with, is that they seem to exist only to give you the personality that the turtles themselves never really explore, be it through action or dialogue.

Exactly. I guess I was so shocked at how quickly I turned on the designs after being somewhat alright with them after awhile.

You're right, they don't give you the chance to get to know them as well so they tack on things that you're aware of when it comes to each character and think that's a way to get around it.

Not really, no. But I still have the Nick cartoon(As well as the past TMNT stuff) to enjoy, so I'm good.

I'm neither, I'm not happy, nor am I mad. I have nothing invested in this particular continuity, so I could care less if a sequel is made or not, or if the new sequel bombs or not. The Turtles have survived train wrecks before (Next Mutation) so they will survive again.

Right now, the part of me that looks forward to it is based on the [possibly in vein] hope for improvement and doing what should have been done the first time around.

I suppose mostly I want the let-downs patched up so they aren't the permanent picture of this version; like having Knoxville cleansed from my perception of this version's Leo.

The Turtles themselves (minus Leo's voice 'talent') were a good side of it though, all things considered and different as they may be, wouldn't mind seeing more of them.

I can't wait for the sequel as I loved the movie and found it fun. Can't wait to see how and if they do Bebop Rocksteady and Casey Jones.

I am because I thought the new movie was entertaining. Plus, in the next film we might get Bebop & Rocksteady, Krang, and Casey Jones.
