Wait, What?

Because the writers will treat it like no time has passed since the Turtles left. When in reality if NYC was ever taken over by aliens the entire U.S. government would be there on lockdown.

In order to prevent a nation wide panic the Government would use any bull that the general public is willing to swallow.

3 months of letting Krrang Prime just lay there on the street?? No...I don't think so....XD |
Most humans are pretty incapable in the Turtles' world? I suppose they could have been taken down before fully understanding what they were up against, but that's kinda stupid of them.

The EPF are meant to stop other human forces.
The alien forces are supposed to be left to the Men In Black... :P |

Who knows, maybe even Kurtzman helped them. He has way too much knowledge to the Kraang, imo, for someone not actually directly connected to them in some way. Quote:
I didn't say they didn't try to help him...her...it...but that he/she/it has been knocked out for these past few months and the Kraang are too stupid to think or do anything on their owns without receiving further instructions from Kraang Prime. Personally, back in season 1, I found it ironic how they're a bunch of brains, yet they aren't too bright...and for the life of me, I can't remember what happened for me to get that impression. |
Eh, New York will probably be in the same state it was when the Turtles fled. My guess is that the EPF has kept the Kraang in check to a certain degree so they weren't able to complete their worldwide invasion. Basically, they've been fighting each other for 3 months with no progress on either side.

Because this show....
.... is Stupid. I've given it a chance. It peaked really early in Season 1, and now it's just swishing around. Their focus is all over the place, but never where it should be, they don't even pretend there's any logic to anything, "Because It's A Kids' Show, Yo", and... it's just really really dumb. There's good stuff IN it but it's not a "good show". Sometimes it's downright maddening. "Good Enough" for little, little kids, but it's just getting ridiculous now. |
ill throw in my 2 cents, as in, i have 2 thoughts:
1. we'll see scenes of the epf fighting the kraang. as the turtles return, theyll see barricades of epf soldiers, tanks or whatever, maybe see battles going on. 2. we'll see the epf mutated, like mutated epf soldiers, tanks etc, showing that the kraan were too strong for them |

This sounds vaguely like Raccoon City in the Resident Evil series. It took the government about 4 months to find that the city was unsalvagable before they blew it off the map. But that's after they threw special military teams in the "fire" (not to mention Umbrella also had disastrous results in their efforts in whatever they were doing there). During those 4 months, the government was lying to the rest of the country and world saying it was just a quarantined area because of nothing more than radiation.
Then again, it's easy to cover up an infestation of a small city than a large, well-known one. But what am trying to say is, while it's reaching to think a city that has so much going on under the world's nose didn't get found out sooner by the public or that the government failed miserably in controling an outbreak (or in this case, an invasion), this isn't the first franchise that did this. Raccoon's story didn't turn out that bad for holding a bit of disbelief, did it? In summary, as mentioned before, the EPF has been barely keeping the Krang in check until now. For the past 3-5 months, NYC has become a battlefield or (at "best") a no mans land. |

Given that the EPF has barely appeared, let alone been mentioned it could be simply justified that they dont yet exist (or have only just come into existence).
The technodrome is the only large scale attack prior to New York's invasion that the government would have definitely noticed, and it was 'mysteriously' defeated without their intervention. It seems fair to assume they have noticed Kraang beforehand, but have kept it small scale and in the hands of existing intelligence services (or even a specialised one, but probably not one toting private armed forces) That gives them 1 year to find the funding to decide to create an organisation specifically to fight aliens/The Kraang on a large scale. I find that unlikely anyone's government is that efficient when they have perfectly good normal armies to try first. Its the Xcom effect again. Don't bother funding anything useful until after you already need it. If you want a really cynical excuse, maybe its an election year and congress blocked EPF's funding to make the current president look bad. (perhaps the Kraang infiltrated them? If anyone can filibuster it has to be the Kraang) |
Hey guys remember The Dark Knight Rises and how Bane and his crew of terrorists took over the entire city for months while Bruce Wayne was recovering from a broken back and the government apparently wasn't able to do **** that entire time?
Yeah... I love good writing! |
Thanks for the spoiler. :b I never got around to seeing the third movie. Even my city's current events magazine razzed that movie
So Nick TMNT hit some skids huh? I think they might have some issues to deal with when the Turtles & Friends return. New York overrun by Kraang sounds too similar to what was used in I Am Legend, so I'm hoping that won't happen. |
The EPF could just as easily be the only reason the Kraang haven't spread any further. They could be in a stalemate with The Kraang or may have been defeated. It could be any number of reasons. Should probably just wait till the episodes air before panicking.
|
I have to agree that it is most likely that the EPF didn't exist until a year ago. The Kraang attack last year didn't cause as much devastation as this year's, so that's why the EPF couldn't stop them. They didn't fully know what they were capable of until the second invasion. Plus, the Kraang have the advantage of advanced technology and mutagen that can cause the soldiers to turn on each other, so that could be it.

Maybe it feel out of place if the EPF is the only organization out of those other three factions that is big and competent. I mean even Shredder has idiot ball moments plus he's a delusional loose cannon. The Hamato clan while being a little competent in their missions, are at a huge disadvantage because their group is just too small to spread out.
If I were Splinter, the next thing that I would do is to start an army. Find other mutants and train them, maybe even to select two turtles to act as lieutenants. It's not the matter of having power like the Shredder, it's a matter of personal security, the greater good and efficiency. |
I can see why people are pointing out the flaws in this, but I'm just going to suspend my disbelief here and assume that the EPF evacuated the city of the non-Kraangified people and the Kraangified people were abducted by the Kraang to Dimension X for further experiments.
Also, this is going to sound really dark, but what if the EPF was responsible for taking out the infected people? Like maybe they handled them the way people handle zombies in movies and just....exterminated them? Sounds a bit rough for a kids show, but it's a possible theory. |

And if worse comes to worse...euthanize all of them and cover it up saying that these people were part of the alien threat. |

The Kraang invasion is stupid no matter how it's skewed. If the Turtles can defeat them easily, the conventional military should be able to, but even if that military couldn't, that means the Kraang would start advancing elsewhere, which there's no evidence that they've done, either. The Turtles are also pretty irresponsible in that since they've been in Northampton, I don't remember them trying to learn what's happening elsewhere at any point. |
The Kraang have shown themselves to be adaptable and to throw around increasingly powerful technology to make up for the fact they cant hit a barn door at 2 paces. It may be that while conventional tech has been initially effective, they are adapting quickly and the EPF has only been able to contain them rather than eradicate them.
