Awesome though, I'll be very curious how that turns out and goes over with people. Surely it will leak again. (Did we miss it before, and if so, how?? Or just me?)

Yeah I thought that too and when I saw the news article I thought it was old or just wierd but apparently it was just 'rumors' before and now it's been 'officially' confirmed by Paramount.

I'm guessing in a couple of days we will find out who's going to play them.

I was thinking should I make a new thread or add it to an old thread but I thought someone will end up doing a new thread on it anyway, so what the hell I'll do a new thread anyway.

I'm kinda torn on this matter because while Bebop and Rocksteady are two of my favorite characters, I've gotten used to the idea of them not needing to be in every single incarnation. Still at the same time I've been wanting to see a live action version of them since Secret of the Ooze.

Some more details:

When Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hit theaters last summer, we weren't the only ones disappointed at the absence of villains Bebop and Rocksteady. Well Paramount has heard our complaints, and on Tuesday, after many rumors, it was finally officially confirmed that Bebop and Rocksteady will be in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II.

The announcement was sandwiched between big presentations for Terminator: Genisys and Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation. Concept art for the two characters was shown that did not match the concept art leaked after the first movie hit theaters. This was something new and looked a little more cartoonish. But it was clear this was concept art and it could undergo some serious changes before we finally get a look at how the characters will look in the movie.

This is definitely some of the best news to come out of CinemaCon so far. We can't wait to see the Warthog and the Rhino make it to the big screen.

Paramount may have decided to make an announcement about this, which I guess is news, but it was officially confirmed months ago, by the writers.

Finally a Movie verse versions of Bebop and Rocksteady. Can't wait to see what they look like.

There were recent leaked images of Bebop and Rocksteady for the upcoming movie? I recall seeing some concept art that was made for the first movie.. is this what the article is referring to? Or did I miss something?

Yeah, and apparently they showed new concept art of them during the Paramount presentation at CinemaCon.

Reading their names as "Rocksteady and Bebop" is as mentally taxing as trying to write with my left hand.

Why is it, any time new concept art is shown, we rarely hear positive comments?
It's always "might be tweaked".

Funny how that only happens to TMNT.

That is unless it was designed by the same mouth breather who crapped out the turtles.

I dunno, a lot of films, games, etc go through multiple concepts and changes as they work on getting the right feel they're aiming for. Not to assume someone might not decide to screw with it anyhow (*cough* Turtle steroids *cough*), but I don't think tweaking something is so unusual. More of a matter of what they tweak.

You know that tweaking is a term only used by fans right? It means sweet **** all.

That's my gripe. And in the past, lot's of people have tried, and failed to put their own stamp on things, but if you look around right now, you'll notice that most franchises are adhering closer to their comic origins than in years past. The audience doesn't want reinterpretation.

Point being, if your not screwing with it, there is nothing to tweak. If it needs tweaks, you're intentionally changing it, better known as ****ing it up.

The concept art was drawn in 1984. It's pretty simple.

So the big news is that they've confirmed the one thing they already confirmed a week after the first movie was released and re-confirmed several times since then?

As opposed to Bebop & Rocksteady, you mean? I guess that order gets used more commonly by the masses, but in the OT they alternate between the two to the point that they both sound the same to me. :trazz:

Bebop/Rocksteady were "late additions?" Characters created in 1987, only 3 years after the comics in 1984, are "late additons?"

What the hell? They were literally the first mutant villains ever created and were introduced 3 years after the franchise began. If Bebop/Rocksteady are considered "late" what the hell is everyone from 1988-2015 considered?

agreed FF looks stupid. I also prefer White Johnny Storm too.

Better than being a total suckup to the movies. I hope this second turtles movie doesn't steal half its plot from another movie and doesn't have tons of gaping plot holes

Well there is sadly a large portion of people who'd like to pretend nothing TMNT related was created after 1990, some (although not this person) even like to pretend TMNT didn't exist before 1987...

Possibly? The Purple Dragons are the go to street gang in TMNT after all.

Also, Bebop & Rocksteady were developed at the behest of corporate America, 3 years after the TMNT were created. They are by no means sacred. If anything, one could argue against them, even, as they're symbolic with respect to the turtles forever being thought of as a children's property.

I wouldn't be surprise if they have ties to the Purple Dragon, Which is why the Shredder recruited them.
