Germany (sort of) Declares War!

America first?

Looks like the globalists are going to fight back.

Protectionism only hurts consumers, ultimately. Pinch those pennies.

There are no major wars until Crazy Kim launches Nukes from North Korea.

There will be wars in the middle east until the end of time. They've been killing each other for the last 10,000 years there, they'll be killing each other for the next 10,000 years too.

This is so ignorant. The Middle East was much more peaceful and prosperous than Europe during the middle ages. It wasn't always like what it is today.

What makes the ME so unstable nowadays? It all goes back to the Treaty or Versailles. And ofc the creation of the state of Israel didn't help matters either.

Andrew NDB 09-07-2026 03:01 AM

So I'm genuinely curious. The media sphere is lighting up about this "far right party" in Germany taking power. What about it makes it "far right," exactly?

  1. You've misread whatever you've been reading. They have not taken power, they have won the most votes in the state elections of Saxony-Anhalt (a sparsely populated state in the east) yesterday. Since they don't have a majority and other parties refuse to work with them, it remains to be seen what this win will mean for the state.
  2. Think of them as Germany's Republicans. And by Republicans, I mean modern day Republicans, not 1980s Republicans. Deportation, anti-immigration, pro-Russia, ties to Neo-Nazi groups etc.

International and national media are going nuts over this because it's the AfD's biggest win yet but it is not without precedent in the last couple of years.

Andrew NDB 09-07-2026 03:45 AM

I mean no disrespect I just want to understand. What are these "ties to Neo-Nazi groups," for example?

Barkworm 09-07-2026 04:10 AM

There's a full Wikipedia page devoted to that. It's often stuff like candidate X is friends with a convicted Skinhead or candidate Y coincidentally lives in a mansion that hosted a party for a Neo-Nazi group who brought their Nazi memorabilia and so on.

Funny enough, when I first heard of the AfD several years ago, a lot of people didn't consider it a far-right group. Did the party's ideology shift with time?

The closest thing to a Nazi party in Germany for a long time was, I believe, the NDP, which is now called Die Heimat. But it's quite an irrelevant party, isn't it?

From what I gather based on things I've seen Germans say online, Sachsen/Saxony is the most backwards of all German states. Dunno if Saxony-Anhalt is put in the same bag as well.

Interestingly, I follow a Bavarrian who votes AfD on Twitter and he follows me back. We're both fans of the same 80s anime series. The guy is definitely not a Nazi by any means, though. He strongly condemns the Holocaust, likes Jewish people, and is pro-Israel. He seems to be a proud Catholic, he doesn't like Muslims much and is not too keen on the "woke" approach to trans people, however. He's a conservative guy, but that's it.

You're replying to a post I made in 2017, for the record. :)

I still maintain the same opinion, more or less. But there's also Saudi Arabia supporting Wahhabism, although I don't think they do it that much anymore? But they're also bombing Yemen. As for UAE, I believe they're also involved in that, plus Sudan, which is in Africa and not the ME.

As for Israel, its creation angered a ton of Muslims, as we all know. But we shouldn't scapegoat it as the culprit of all issues in hat hornet's nest.

Vegita-San 09-18-2026 07:11 AM

Wallachia, which is Romania nowadays, borders the Balkans. The Balkans definitely don't miss Ottoman rule.

Funny story time: I once asked a Romanian of Hungarian ancestry what he thought of Vlad the Impaler, and he said: "Ah Vlad was not a bad man. He just liked to impale people."

Andrew NDB 09-18-2026 08:48 AM

Vlad is still a hero to this day in Romania. This is not a secret.

Wait, there were no deportations and anti-illegal immigration sentiment in the 80s amongst Republicans? That wasn't even something you'd hear any debate about on the news because both the Republicans and Democrats were pretty united on it. And I wouldn't say Republicans are any more pro- or anti- Russia than they were in the 80s, minus the threat of the Cold War back then. If Russia plays nice then we play nice.

So that just leaves these tenuous "ties to Neo-Nazi groups" in this "Far Right" party in Germany, I guess? To explain how they're "Far Right"?

Barkworm 09-18-2026 10:27 PM

Andrew, I know you have this obsession that people should call right wing radicals "conservatives" because you don't like to be called a radical. But instead of going for terms that don't apply to you and other supporters of the Republicans, just embrace it. That's what has been going on on a worldwide scale anyway.

The German Federal Office for Protection of the Constitution (that's a thing here) has classified several branches of this party as "right-wing extremist" based on party goals that don't fit our constitution or are believed to undermine our democracy. So that's an official classification. Just like in the US, this sort of classification seems to make people vote for these radicals all the more so there's that.

Andrew NDB 09-18-2026 11:10 PM

I wish you'd just posted the second paragraph, though I get it. But thank you for the clarification.

In that case I am more mad at our own media in the US for latching onto "far right" stuff when discussing your country as if it means exactly the same thing in ours. Which is nothing. Not "essentially" nothing, but nothing at all.

Why exactly? It wasn't even meant as an insult or anything. People on the left are sometimes called radicals for supporting social security or a two-state solution in Israel. Whatever. Let's all be radicals!

Again, Republicans and the AfD are basically the same. There's a reason why Trump and Vance have been supporting them for a while now.

I understand. But no, let's not. Let's be normal human beings. No "Far" anything unless it is justified. Which I guess in terms of your particular country if those are the parameters then OK. But in my country... the parameters have become nonsense. Particularly even in your comparison to us in the 80s, when stuff like "Should illegal immigrants be illegal?" being asked in said 80s or even 90s or even 2000s would have been a resounding "YES! Get'em out!" By both parties. Literally, it was never a question at all until maybe around the 2010s. Now it's like a "Are you on the LEFT or RIGHT?" litmus test. Which is ridiculous.

Trump doesn't associate with Neo-Nazis larping as a German movement that died in 1945, that's true.

But he does associate with Zionist Nazis today who are carrying out a Genocide in the name of Jewish Racial Supremacy.

As usual, you don't have any grasp of what you are talking about but you calling for mass murder (however witty you think you framed it) has happened for the last time here.

Vegita-San 09-20-2026 12:17 AM

when I See such an emotional response, I know I'm on the right track.

if you think the 'gazans' are so correct in their ways, live with them and among them for a while.

and make sure to say hi to the queers for palestine group as they are being lead to the tallest building.

FYI, I'm also an atheist. I hate ALL organized religion... I'm no fan of Judaism or Christianity, either.

Palestinians are lovely people, the one's who I've met.

On topic though, calling for mass murder deserves an emotional response.

It's not normal to remain stoic in the face of saying Palestinians deserve the Vlad treatment.

I'm not emotional. But intrigued! Apparently you have lots of experience with Gazans. Then please share what you have experienced that makes you condone murdering them. We heard the dog story (which you eye-witnessed I assume and didn't see on TikTok) which is terrible but maybe not enough for straight out genocide.

if they practice islam, then they are secretly smiling while plotting your demise.

look at mamdami, the first communist islamic mayor of nyc. he smiles at the press, and gives people 'free' things. then, in secret, goes to meetings where they shout 'death to america' and poses with photos with people who bomb twin towers. the number one rule in islam is lie to gain entry.

it's called watching the news.

Apparently, you havn't seen them invade NYC by having a 'muslim call to prayer' right in the middle of times square. please note, they do not do this in their home area. they consider it rude. they only do it in places they invade, in order to assert dominance. hence, the muslim call to prayer 'song' blasting on speakers at 5AM in the morning.

but, looks like germany has it's own worries..

LOL, I live in New York, and I haven't seen any "muslims take over."

Vegita-san is saying some crazy disturbing things here. You sound like you get all your opinions from Fox News. Also thinly concealed racism and siding with Putin and suggesting genocide.

I didn't know stuff like that was allowed here.
