Turtlebot...

THis is for the Gamecube owners of the TMNT game...

I missed a couple of episodes when the new season began (back in September) and I was wondering, why on stage three is the boss the turtlebot, complete with clips from that episode? Did it already air, or was it something that is supposed to be aired in the future, or mebbe even a made exclusively for the game clip? Anyone who could shed some light on this will be greatly appreciated! :D

I think it was made for the game. Some parts were made in anime type stuff it was funny to watch some of it. It just wouldn't work in anime. Their mouths and casey and april look stupid.

Taloniss 10-26-2003 10:42 AM

Exclusive to the game.

Phandral 10-26-2003 11:48 AM

Thanks guys! I kinda thought that newsreporter looked kinda funny (as in not the art style of the show aka anime  ) At any rate, you GOTTA give Konami credit to go make this effort for the TMNT...it couldn't have cheap to animate a clip just fill out a video game. As the old turtles would say..."GO GREEN MACHINE!!!!!" :P

Kid Icarus 10-26-2003 11:58 AM

It pry didn't cost them very much. I haven't played the game, but the scenes can't be too long, and there can't be that many of them (one per level right?)

Peanut 10-26-2003 01:28 PM

Actually they are pretty lengthy. There are 2 scenes I think for the Turtlebot episode alone. Plus there's more.

JameO 10-26-2003 04:39 PM

Yeah there is quite a few of them and I really like em. I would like to see a full episode in anime. That would be funny.

cqb101 10-26-2003 05:12 PM

Yep, he's exclusive to the game.....Too bad tho, I really like him......He also may be in an upcoming issue of the dreamwave comic series.

Ninja Tiptup 10-26-2003 07:31 PM

Those scenes really remind me of the cinema scenes on Mega Man X4. They look quite a bit different from the cartoon they look like scenes from a poorly dubbed OVA (this is not that the VA's are bad but the sync is a bit off). I guess in a sense they are OVA scenes. Anyway, I like them and I would also like to see them in the comics or something.

This, sir, is an offensive generalization. Anime has friken tons of different styles. So, you need to be more specific for poor saps like me who haven't seen what you're talking about.

Ninja Tiptup 10-29-2003 12:13 AM

I'd say if there was a Japanese animated series that resembled the new TMNT the most it would probably be The Big O (which takes a lot of it's style from Western methods).

Dong Woo has a way of making a good mix of the American big and beefy hero and the Japanese vivid, colorful, and expressive style.

Turtlebot is badass.
I wish he was in the show though, that'd make getting him in plastic form a much more likely occurance.

we are getting a figure of him...Where ya been?

Strafe 11-09-2003 06:49 PM

Wha...really?
I guess it's because I give most of my love to one fandom, and so my information on the others suffers.
When was this announced? Are there any pictures? Thanks in advance.

We're getting three figures from the video game. The Foot Gunner, the Evil Turtlebot, and the Giant Mouser. Here's a picture of the Turtlebot and Mouser. The Foot Gunner is out now. The other two will be out in 2004. :)

When I first saw the video game clip of him hovering in the sky,...

NO QUESTIONS AT ALL

THAT WAS.......

METAL HEAD!!!!!

*whispers under breath*
-young people-

Karpo_007 11-11-2003 02:29 PM

He does not look anything like metal head.

azure turtle 11-11-2003 02:55 PM

I think he means Metal Head from the old 'toon/toys, not Metal Head from Mirage. But yeah, I thought the Turtlebot resembled him when I first fought against him. I guess we'll find out more about the origins of the Turtlebot from Dreamwave.

MikesPizzaShack 11-27-2003 01:29 AM

no he doesnt look like metal head but bassicly it is him. since the name and design of him is owned by the old show he got a new name and design..i loved metal head. a evil turtle robot was a great idea..i remember when he was on the old show i think it was a 2parter and then some time down the line don had made him into a maid but malfunctioned and the guys were in trouble and metalhead gave his life to save them..ya i had tears....

All the characters created for the old show, are still owned by Mirage. They were even discussing naming the game character Metalhead for old times sake. Laird was against it, wanting to make a clean break from the old toon version. :)
