Why only 13 episodes to season 7?
why is season 7 only going to be 13 episodes long? FF got a full 26 run. Why is season 7 getting the shaft? One would think that reviving the series after FF...the next series would get a longer time to run...more time to win back the viewers..by telling better storylines. Seriously..one of the WORST things about FF was the storylines. You can't get amazing storylines in 13 episodes.

It's because then they can be supersticous about the "unlucky" number 13. WooOOOooooOOooo...
In all honesty, I'm not too sure. Maybe the bigwigs don't think that this new season will be the last one and can't be bothered funding more episodes. Then again, you can have a very intense storyline like The Lost Season, which also had 13 episodes... :ohwell: |
Maybe they are doing just one or two big story arcs. Remember this is a transitional season.
Hopefully season 8 will have 26 full and GOOD episodes. |
It was a combination of budget cuts and how late they came to a decision on what season 7 would actually be. If they had gone with Super World (the 'card-game' pitch) or Overload (the 'TMNT babysitting themselves' pitch), I bet it would have been a double-season (26 eps).

Wasn't >> basically 2 13 episode seasons, too?

The 13 Ghosts of Scoo-- um... nevermind. :sweatdro:
I understand that double-seasons have a tendency to feel less rushed or, better put, compressed. But, to say that 13 can't have "amazing storylines" is, firstly, strictly a matter of personal opinion and also untrue for plenty of the rest of the fans. I'll refrain from mentioning my thoughts on how The Lost Eps could have benefitted from being 26 eps for the sake of making this point. Quote:

Its 13 episodes because 4kids probably can't afford to do another 26 episode season. You guys are forgetting 4kids has been losing profit year after year and they can't spread themselves too thin anymore.
This is probably not the last season because the Playmates toys are still selling and if the movie sequel actually comes out in 2010 or whatever they're going to want the show and toys to still be around to make money off it. |
I seriously doubt this is the last season. I figured that since there's all of this new material to explore due to the time travel and what not( "the future is not set," "if the events of today carry on into tomorrow, etc...") that it wouldn't be right for it to end until the viewer has a full scope of what is really going on and what this "Back to the Future Part II" like universe is.

I love how people always claim the public hated FF. I guess they forget their opinion doesn't equal that of the entire population. You wanna get real technical the public liked it better because the ratings were way better for FF then season 4, and this was even before the movie came out so don't pull that excuse on me. The only reason it got stopped earlier and revamped was because the older fans were whining about it. Then those same fans saw how the show was starting to shape up at the tail end of the season and wished it had continued, for the most part.
There a beat a dead horse with a dead horse. |

Now this new season ain't gonna be much different, which wont kill me. I can't speak for "tone" just yet, but art is looking to be very similar, which is one of the main FF gripes, but I personally don't think it was that bad. |
