Why only 13 episodes to season 7?

why is season 7 only going to be 13 episodes long? FF got a full 26 run. Why is season 7 getting the shaft? One would think that reviving the series after FF...the next series would get a longer time to run...more time to win back the viewers..by telling better storylines. Seriously..one of the WORST things about FF was the storylines. You can't get amazing storylines in 13 episodes.

It's because then they can be supersticous about the "unlucky" number 13. WooOOOooooOOooo...

In all honesty, I'm not too sure. Maybe the bigwigs don't think that this new season will be the last one and can't be bothered funding more episodes. Then again, you can have a very intense storyline like The Lost Season, which also had 13 episodes...

Maybe they are doing just one or two big story arcs. Remember this is a transitional season.

Hopefully season 8 will have 26 full and GOOD episodes.

It was a combination of budget cuts and how late they came to a decision on what season 7 would actually be. If they had gone with Super World (the 'card-game' pitch) or Overload (the 'TMNT babysitting themselves' pitch), I bet it would have been a double-season (26 eps).

Wrong. Look at Teen Titans, The Batman, Transformers Animated, The Lost Season, and god knows how many shows that have thirteen episodes in length.

The 13 Ghosts of Scoo-- um... nevermind.

I understand that double-seasons have a tendency to feel less rushed or, better put, compressed. But, to say that 13 can't have "amazing storylines" is, firstly, strictly a matter of personal opinion and also untrue for plenty of the rest of the fans. I'll refrain from mentioning my thoughts on how The Lost Eps could have benefitted from being 26 eps for the sake of making this point.

Not quite. It was a double-season to start with. It wasn't until halfway through that 4Kids started toying with the idea of saving the second half for the next 'broadcast' season. But, if you're just playing word/#-games, then yes: 2x13=26.

Its 13 episodes because 4kids probably can't afford to do another 26 episode season. You guys are forgetting 4kids has been losing profit year after year and they can't spread themselves too thin anymore.

This is probably not the last season because the Playmates toys are still selling and if the movie sequel actually comes out in 2010 or whatever they're going to want the show and toys to still be around to make money off it.

I seriously doubt this is the last season. I figured that since there's all of this new material to explore due to the time travel and what not( "the future is not set," "if the events of today carry on into tomorrow, etc...") that it wouldn't be right for it to end until the viewer has a full scope of what is really going on and what this "Back to the Future Part II" like universe is.

Look at Teen Titans, The Batman, Transformers Animated,
I've never seen these shows. So, I don't know about their quality. The lost season did have an amazing story line fit within 13 episodes...but it was a good story line. It would of been a good story line fit within 7 episodes. I guess to say that we won't get "amazing storylines" is a bit dramatic. But, this doesn't feel like they have a prepared direction. It's a "transitional period" as someone else stated. I feel like sicne they are transitioning out of FF...which is something many viewers hated....and bringing them back to the real world....it's going to be hard to give that change justice in 13 episodes. They have to tie up lose ends in FF...get home...catch up the year that they missed and win over doubtful fans who had to sit through FF. I guess I just hate when the public HATED (for the most part) FF...and they kept that going for the entire 26 episodes. This season the public is stoked about...being able to see our boys back home and back to who we love...and they only want to make it 13 episodes. Now...I understand what someone else said (budget cuts and coming to choice too late) but I just don't want them to not deliver this time around. Seasons 1-5 were AMAZING. I'm worried that they're still going to go the same route and cut the season down. Which would be dissapointing. However, on the bright side...the TMNT are still on TV...so that's a good thing...and maybe they're doing only 13 episodes back to the "darker storylines" and are testing it out...to see if that's where their nitche is. I'm gonna go with that reason.

I love how people always claim the public hated FF. I guess they forget their opinion doesn't equal that of the entire population. You wanna get real technical the public liked it better because the ratings were way better for FF then season 4, and this was even before the movie came out so don't pull that excuse on me. The only reason it got stopped earlier and revamped was because the older fans were whining about it. Then those same fans saw how the show was starting to shape up at the tail end of the season and wished it had continued, for the most part.

There a beat a dead horse with a dead horse.

Yeah, people definantly quit on fast forward too quickly. I know I said some bad things about it back when it was airing, but it has grown on me big time (plus I too realized that it was getting better as it went on). Really is sad that it got axed.

Now this new season ain't gonna be much different, which wont kill me. I can't speak for "tone" just yet, but art is looking to be very similar, which is one of the main FF gripes, but I personally don't think it was that bad.

And I love how some people don't read the entire sentence. I said for the most part. I never said that my opinion equalled out to everyone else's opinion. I said that the public hated ff for the most part. People bitch and moan about FF all the time. Does everyone hate it? No. Do a lot of people hate it? Yes. So for the most part the public hated FF.
