Would you ever want Shredder to be an Utrom again?
 

The suckery vs. the bad-assery of Utrom Shredder is constantly debated on these threads (to the point where it's really annoying) but I have a new question:

Whether you liked Shredder being an Utrom or not, would you ever care to see his character go that route in any new comics/cartoons/movies?

I liked what they did with the 4kids show, and I hope it "leaves its mark" on the TMNT franchise, but I hope no one ever borrows that particular story element.

I feel it should be the 4kids series thing, same as Krang being a Fred Wolf and Archie thing

I would disagree with that statement, but now that I think about it, I doubt anyone could make him as funny/awesome as he was.

I enjoyed the Chrell character. I was one who didn't see it coming. Call me blind, dense, or simply stupid. In my opinion, the 2k3 version of Shredder was the most menacing and it was fun having a serious enemy to root against. However, I don't need to see the shredder as an utrom again. Been there, done that. next?

I liked Chr'll the character, but not as the shredder. I love the alien warlord thing, but I think shredder should always be human.
I wouldn't mind seeing chr'll again in TMNT, but not as the shredder.

Now there's an interesting thought... wonder how that could be pulled off.

I wouldn't want the Shredder to be an Utrom again, but I might enjoy watching an Utrom become a Shredder at some point.;)

No, thanks. I liked how 4kids pulled it off, but it would be creatively bankrupt to try and repeat it.

I guess I mean, I'm not against the Shredder being a mantel...I don't want an Utrom Shredder, unless they can pull it off incredibly well.

Utrom shredder was way awesome IMO. In the comics we rarely ever saw him except in the big Eastman/laird events. I like how just making shredder an utrom made the rest of the seasons past 1 so original. I really loved what was done with the 4kids stuff....except fast forward....I prefer my turtles in the present unless it's a one ep/issue thing...

Nah. This was one of those, "it was good for a one-time thing" sort of situation.

I liked the 4kids Shredder being different than all the other Shredder's. I don't want to see it repeated however.

As for me (despite teasing the aforementioned user) I'm not the biggest fan of Utrom Shredder as a whole, but rather for 2k3.
I'd vote yes, because I liked the concept, but the only reason it worked for me is because it was a surprise.
I don't think it would strike the same chord if done a second time.

Have a giant "shredders only" tournament in the battle nexus, bring back all of em, throw in the ones they never did (ie triceraton). Uncle Phil vs Image Raph vs Chrell vs females vs clone worms etc. Would make more sense then somehow coming up with yet another in-the-same-universe shredder like they've done way too many times.

I'm usually in the "get over him and move on. he dies in the first issue" camp, but I did like Chrell a lot and I don't really care if they try it again someyear. Utrom was a lot cooler than demon/tengu/whatever else anyway. But ideally, I'd like them to just go with new damn villians at this point.

If they decide to use the utrom Shredder again, I would prefer Ch'rell to be alien parasite like the goa'uld from stargate sg-1 by taking the human body of Oroku Saki instead of using exosuit.

Now the only thing I never want to see again is Shredder to be a tengu. What an awful character.

It wouldn't bother me. I prefer human Shredder but him being an utrom again would be fine as long as they pulled it off well.
