Alopex = Karai?
Think about it...it could be a far out notion, but it very well could add up...the fact that she has been trained, her connection with the 'Master'...
|
I wonder if she'll be IDW's Ninjara, an anthropomorphic fox who starts out as a villain and then becomes an ally.
|
I know I for one am extremely interested in where they'll take Alopex's character.
It's made pretty clear that the two Foot from issue 2 and 3 must have aquired some sample of the mutagen, I think. I can't see Baxter making anymore freaks just for the sake of capturing five escaped ones. I'm hoping Alopex shows up again soon enough. |
I can easily see Alopex becoming "good" after a while.
Some people might deny it now, but she really is similar to Ninjara with a new coat of paint. I wouldn't be surprised if they have the whole romance thing with Raphael too....its no surprise she debuted in his issue. |
You guys don't think there's a connection with Karai? I really think there could be...
|
You mockin' my Shredder/Hob thread, or do you honestly think that there is a connection?

To paraphrase Mirage Mikey in Turtles Forever:
"She's supposed to be Karai in this universe, I don't see it." |
I think the possibility definitely exists, I believe she has a better chance of being Karai than Ninjara with a new name. And here is why, I remember reading from either Tom or Bobby that they went with a new character instead of Alopex just for the reason of not wanting to feel obligated to make Ninjara turn into an ally and have a relationship with Raph. They felt like going with an existing character like Ninjara, they would be obligated to make her similar to how she was in the past and that fans would have a certain notion or bias on what direction they should take the character or where she should be at development wise in the book. The fact that they don't want to feel constrained with her, to me means that aside from being similar looking they won't have much in common. They don't want another Ninjara character, they want someone new, while her appearance may be a nod to Ninjara, I think her characterization will be completely different, so I'm definitely open to the possibility that she will end up being Karai. I hope that isn't the case, I think Karai is a formible opponent as a human ninja so hope we can have both, but I definitely see it as a possibility, especially if Hob does in fact turn out to be Oraku Saki (hope he isn't for the same reason) but it could still be cool.
|
I don't think she will be Karai as there is really no reason to make her such. I mean Hob/Shredder makes more since after all since Saki was alive at the same time Yoshi and his sons were. I don't want that to happen though. I'd rather see new characters and old. There has to be another way to bring Saki into the fold and the same with Karai other then making them mutants.
|
Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. There's no real reason for her to be Karai at all. I believe Alopex's story was true for the most part, she just left out the part about her being trained to fight against the turtles.
|
Man, I sure hope not. I love the normal Karai, as cool as Alopex seems I don't want her replacing the Karai I love.
|
i dont see it. the ninjara idea seems more plausable to me.
|
I can't see Kevin or Tom doing that @all. For the MOst part that Ive seen them do..is redefine what already exists in the TMNT continuity. Adding a twist now and again. It would Be a shame if they DO over flood this series with Mutants. I would not want to see this happen. We ALL know how the archie series turned out. lol No offense.
In order to keep the turtles unique. the fewer the mutants there are. In my opinion. :tgrin: |
I actually think Alopex being a re-imagined Karai would be uniquely awesome.
