Raph's Pet Turtle "Spike"
 

According to Raph's bio in the Nickelodeon TMNT Dark Horizons game, Raph has a pet Turtle named "Spike."

First, awwwww.

And secondly, what's your opinion of it?

Yeah it'll probably become Slash. Although makes you wonder why they're calling it Spike now anyway.

Funny because in the OT it was Bebop who had a pet turtle who became Slash.

I think that little Snapper kinda became a cult character for a few Mirage fans... or at least tOkKa anyway. :P

it would be an awesome twist in the plot if spike mutates into slash, tokka, or some other new mutant and the foot clan captures him and turns him against the turtles.

We'll he looks a lot like Tokka to me. I wonder why would they keep a snapping turtle to begin with, those mean business .

Or Tokka......

A pet cat or dog I can accept but one of thier own species as a pet? It just does not feel right as a way to bring Slash in as the turtles pet when he is thier Bizarro.

Well, he sort of mentioned it was April's,maybe she had it long before she met them.

Maybe he just finds it injured or starving or whatever and brings it home to take care of it. I don't see the turtles going out of their way to have pet turtles, but I can certainly see them doing that.

For a pointless thought along that line of thinking, maybe this Raphael could even get a happy future running a turtle sanctuary or something.

Nope. Haven't seen one as of yet. It's only mentioned in passing in his bio on the site.

I kind of like the idea of Raph having a pet. The fact it is a turtle is a little weird, but maybe we will see a softer side of him when he is interacting with it. I mean the way I see it is that he would put on his "game face" when he is around his brothers and that Spike will allow him to have moments of releasing that and being his true self. Or at least that is how I'd use it as a writer.

If I were a mutant turtle, I'd probably keep a pet turtle too. I'd be fascinated by what I once was.

After reading that, I wish you did write TMNT stuff. :tcool: (Do you?)
