Shrdder's origin
 

I was looking at X-Men's Silver Samurai and the Daredevil's arch-villian, the Claw. And, i was wondering if Shredder was originated from any of these two characters. Or was there a Daredevil character called "Grate Man"?

Actually, Kevin Eastman explained in the "Behind the Shells" video that when they were coming up with ideas for the characters, he had slid his arm into a rectangular cheese grater, which is where they came up with the idea for Shedder's gaunlets.

Personally, I think the creators of the original toon had Darth Vader in mind when they were making that version of Shredder...

I thought movie Shredder was more Vader-ish than old cartoon Shredder.

I'm guessing that the influence for Shredder's and Vader's helmets comes from Japan.

WOW! lol, I remember watching the first movie and being like "wow, sounds a lot like Vader!"

Right but this time he even looks more like Vader.

Lightsaber can cut trough Almost anything, Shredder wouldn't stand a chance... :lol:

Actually, if we can draw parallels between the force and chi. Then Shredder can use his Ninja stealth skills to not be sensed by Vader's Jedi ability to sense Shredder's presense.(Perhaps the "Jin" Kuji-In skill would help) Then all Shredder has to do is sneak up behind Vader and jam his gauntlet claws into Vader's respirator.
Alternately, Shredder can use his Taijutsu skills to disarm Vader thus denying him the Lightsaber that you mentioned. Then Shredder would have the definate advantage.
So you see It's Vader who wouldn't stand a chance.

But Vader isn't quite as fast and agile as Shredder... ;)

So can Shredders claw......

Atleast the idea of those two duking it out makes better sense than Splinter and Professor Xavier.

Shredder is way cuter than Vader...... IMHO....
