Nah. Don't believe in them either. I'm sure there are some shady folk in political circles but I guess that's about it. Maybe such an organization would devour itself if one ever existed. I'd hope there were more people in positions of authority who were willing to better humankind rather than to further the ambitions of themselves and a few of their pals eager to gain wealth and influence for greed's sake. I do believe that there are crooked individuals doing these sorts of things to further their own ends, but you see people like that in all sorts of professions. They're usually out for themselves and that's about it, really. Just look what happens to US government when neither of our parties are able to agree on anything for a while. A whole lot of nothing. I'm thinking of that brief shut down in 2013. I mean, those guys fight like a bunch of siblings but I'd like to think the majority have the people's best interests at heart. US does alright as a nation when we stop being silly and screaming at each other. We really do. That's all I'll say about government because I don't really like talking politics that much and I try to be an optimist most of the time if I can help it. Anyway, if Illuminati does exist, I bet they argue quite a bit longer and don't get anything done if they're in it for themselves. Seems like the inability to listen to the opinions of others and to work together to come up with a solution to such and such a problem often results in quite a bit of stagnation no matter the group. That's what I imagine is going on if such a group does exist. Especially if they're all self-centered old guys. Who knows? Haven't put too much thought into the Illuminati so I might be way off. haha
I do wonder how all these rumors of Illuminati got started, however. Maybe some small group of filthy rich guys started it in the 40's or so to see how a tun of conspiracy theorists would embellish it. Maybe their descendants just sit around reading that stuff and laughing about it every week? My fiancee and I spent a little time trying to find out possible motives of this supposed cabal. Making money? Ruling the world like Saturday morning cartoon villains? Furthering the order of,"Saaaatan?" Just meeting together once a week to have ribs and play pool or cards and waving a bunch of money at each other while arguing about everything and nothing simply for argument's sake? Same as that old-time boys club Indigo spoke of, probably. That's what I've always believed since there's really not any hard evidence to go on. A tun of opinions out there, but not too terribly much in the way of facts. It's just my opinion, but I imagine people make them out to be a lot more powerful than they would be in actuality. I've forgotten what they're supposed to have their sticky fingers into. Everything, if memory serves correctly. A couple profs touched upon them briefly when I was in college but not all that much. I also had an x who was deep into all sorts of conspiracy stuff. Still is from what my mom says. I remember my x saying that They shaped Washington DC's streets like a few of their symbols. Something to that nature anyway. More power to her if that's what she still chooses to believe. I was always afraid that she'd fall in with one of those groups who use scare tactics to make people cough up a bunch of money in order to keep it safe from Illuminati, only to find themselves scammed in the end. The girl I'm now going to marry says that I should just watch 24 because that's more entertaining fiction than the stuff she and I tried wading through online. What can I say? Some of the shows we watch inspire us to do research for curiosity's sake sometimes. Neat topic, Mt. Best of luck to you deciding what to believe here. This is more fun than Christmas shopping. I dread the crowds, hence sitting here and reading everyone's responses.
