NEW for 2018: What's your favorite MCU film?

This is basically an updated version of this thread, to account for the release of Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War.

So, what's your new favorite Marvel movie? Have you seen them all, or just most of them, or only a few?

BONUS QUESTIONS: What's your favorite movie from each Phase? Of the series that have completed their trilogies (or have at least one sequel, in the case of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise), what is your favorite installment? What is your favorite series of films as a whole?

Here are all the films released so far:

Note: there are too many options for a poll, so just list your favorite MCU film, or your top three, top five, top ten, rank all of them in your personal best-to-worst rankings, whatever you want

Guardians of the Galaxy
Captain America 3
Avengers
Captain America 2
Infinity War
Iron Man
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Thor 3
Thor
Ant-Man
Captain America
Guardians of the Galaxy 2
Black Panther
Avengers 2
Doctor Strange
The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 3
Thor 2
Iron Man 2

wow, Iron Man 3 is 2013? Wow So I haven't seen an MCU film in 5 years  Well at least a complete movie. That movie burned me out on 5 years worth of movies and there's tons now. My favorite is Iron Man, it felt so fresh, every other MCU film in Phase 1 was just more of the same, including Avengers. Everything I've seen from the post Phase 1 movies also feel like more of the same, granted I haven't watched much but based on the youtube clips that I've seen I think I've seen enough to justify my views. I love Marvel and will check them out one day, I realize it's a dream come true so it sucks to be burnt on the characters when they have their live action golden age.

Also no MCU film in 2009, I'm guessing they were still figuring out what to do with the MCU after the success of Iron Man. That's also the only year that only one Marvel movie came out that year (Origins:Wolverine), every other year besides that one since 2002 had minimum 2 Marvel movies every year. So even back then we were getting tons of Marvel films. No Marvel movies in 1999 or 2001 or the "at least 1 Marvel film per year" would've started since 1998 with Blade.

1.GOTG
2.GOTG Vol 2
3.Thor Ragnarok
4.Infinity War
5.Black Panther
6.Civil War
7.Doctor Strange
8.Ant-Man
9.Spidey Homecoming
10.Iron Man

I've only seen Iron Man 1/2, GOTG 1/2, Dr. Strange, & Ant Man, of those listed. I guess I'd give GOTG my vote.

Making this kind of list becomes harder and harder, as more and better movies are released. I'm gonna try to put them in order, but it's not a definitive one.

The Avengers [2012]
Avengers: Infinity War [2018]
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 [2017]
Captain America: The Winter Soldier [2014]
Thor: Ragnarök [2017]
Guardians of the Galaxy [2014]
Black Panther [2018]
Captain America: Civil War [2016]
Avengers: Age of Ultron [2015]
Spider-Man: Homecoming [2017]
Iron Man [2008]
Ant-Man [2015]
Iron Man 3 [2013]
Thor: The Dark World [2013]
Doctor Strange [2016]
Thor [2011]
Captain America: The First Avenger [2011]
The Incredible Hulk [2008]
Iron Man 2 [2010]

Black Panther
Avengers: Infinity War
Thor Ragnarok
Doctor Strange
Captain America: Civil War

Top 5 will do.

Listed by Phase:

Phase 1
1. The Avengers
2. Iron Man
3. Captain America: The First Avenger
4. The Incredible Hulk
5. Thor
6. Iron Man 2

Phase 2
1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
2. Guardians of the Galaxy
3. Iron Man 3
4. Ant-Man
5. Avengers: Age of Ultron
6. Thor: The Dark World

Phase 3
1. Captain America: Civil War
2. Avengers: Infinity War
3. Black Panther
4. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
5. Spider-Man: Homecoming
6. Thor: Ragnarok
7. Doctor Strange

My faves from each phase? Let's see.

Phase 1:
Captain America: First Avenger
Iron Man

Guardians of the Galaxy
Ant-Man
Iron Man 3

Phase 3:
Black Panther
Captain America: Civil War
Doctor Strange
Avengers: Infinity War
Thor: Ragnarok
Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Looking at the list, it seems the movies are getting better with each phase. They still have their flaws, of course, but they have gotten better at keeping the humor low-key. (With the possible exception of Guardians and Ragnarok, though Guardians is intended to be lighter, and Ragnarok was mostly due to Hulk's tantrums and the Grandmaster.)

Saw them all recently, I'll list my favorites by phase.
Captain America: The First Avenger [2011]
Iron Man [2008]
Avengers: Assemble [2012]

Guardians of the Galaxy [2014]
Captain America: The Winter Soldier [2014]

Avengers: Infinity War [2018]
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 [2017]
Thor: Ragnarök [2017]
Captain America: Civil War [2016]
Black Panther [2018]
Doctor Strange [2016]
Spider-Man: Homecoming [2017]

Except for Cap, Phase One was a chore to get through even at 2x speed. Guardians 1 is my all time favorite and Phase Three has no bad films.

The Grandmaster... I don’t even feel like he’s a villain (though he is). I can’t decide whether to keep my guard up or be mesmerised by his presence. He’s so fascinating lmao. :tlove:

Probably like this, in order of best to least.

Pure curiousity, what did you not like about Guardians? I've never seen it so far down on an MCU list, especially below Thor 2.

Vol. 1 Final Boss Fight but as a dance off and holding hands in a circle group. Like wtf. And Quill is just gratingly annoying for me in the first one tbh.

He’s better in Vol. 2, heck Vol. 2 is better overall imo.

Watched all of the MCU movies (again) before going to Infinity War, here's my list by Phase.

Phase 1

Avengers
Captain America: The First Avenger
Iron Man 2
Iron Man
Thor
The Incredible Hulk

Phase 2

Ant-Man
Guardians of the Galaxy
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Iron Man 3
Thor: The Dark World

Phase 3

Captain America: Civil War
Black Panther
Avengers: Infinity War
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Thor: Ragnarok
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Doctor Strange

Overall I would say the original Avengers movie is still my favourite and Doctor Strange is my least favourite.

I don't dislike it... it's just not as good as the others above it. Too much whimsy and humor, not enough meat.

Everything is better in Vol. 2.
